Chapter 1029 Black Blood Fox Bear
Both Connor and DeZelby understood one thing: if they were dealing with a single Blackblood Fox Bear, they would be fine. However, if they encountered an extremely rare family of Blackblood Fox Bears, as they were observing, then Connor, DeZelby, and the Storm Church Arbitrators around them could only flee for their lives! The sooner and faster they fled, the fewer people would die!
A single Blackblood Fox Bear and a family of Blackblood Fox Bears are two completely different concepts in the wizarding world!
Because of their extremely high intelligence, Blackblood Fox Bears possess not only the powerful physical talents of bear-like magical beasts, but also the ability to cooperate seamlessly in teams just like human wizards. If it weren't for their personality, which makes them prefer a solitary life and rarely live together in pairs, Blackblood Fox Bears could easily become overlords in the world of magical beasts!
Even so, the Blackblood Fox Bear family, consisting of two adult Blackblood Fox Bears and several cubs, is one of the most formidable entities in the Navas Forest!
Just as Dezelby and the arbitrators were still reeling from the death of their companion, Connor, a psychic wizard, sensed through his powerful mental abilities that two incredibly strong auras were quietly flanking them from the left and right.
Although the distance was too great for Connor to determine the nature of these two powerful auras through his mental power, based on the current situation, Connor had already concluded that they were two adult Blackblood Fox Bears, level four magical beasts with the strength of formal wizards.
Realizing this, Connor's expression immediately changed, and he thought to himself, "Not good!" Looking at the Storm Church wizards led by Dezelby, who hadn't noticed anything yet, Connor didn't dare to hesitate for a moment. He immediately took out several smoke bombs from his spatial ring and threw them on the ground. Instantly, grayish-white smoke rose rapidly throughout the forest. Still not entirely at ease, Connor took out a dark green glass ball from his person and threw it on the ground.
"Bang!"
The glass ball shattered on the ground with a crisp sound. As the glass ball broke, the dark green gas that had been sealed inside the glass bottle quietly slipped out and was exposed to the air. Instantly, the grayish-white mist that had been permeating the surroundings took on a green tinge, and the air became pungent.
Seeing Connor's hasty actions, DeZelby asked Connor with some confusion, "Connor Ferguson, what are you doing?"
"Two adult Blackblood Fox Bears have already approached. They mainly rely on scent to locate enemies. My current methods can hold them off for a while," Connor anxiously explained to De Zelby, then turned to everyone and continued loudly:
"If we all stay together, we'll be too conspicuous and easily caught by the Blackblood Fox Bear. Now that I'm using the fog as cover, we should immediately disperse and retreat. After we get out, we'll meet up at that waterfall ten kilometers to the southeast!" Before he finished speaking, Connor didn't wait for the wizards of the Storm Church to agree with his suggestion. He took it upon himself to flash his black robe and flee to the southeast.
It must be said that the group of arbitrators around Dezelby, as the law enforcement team of the Church of Storms, were very disciplined. Although everyone was very interested in Connor's proposal, no one acted on their own. They all looked to Dezelby, the official wizard with the highest cultivation and status among them, who held the power to make the decision.
Under the watchful eyes of his men, Dezelby saw that Connor had already fled. Although he was somewhat angry at Connor's presumptuous actions, he could only think quickly. Although he was not a psychic wizard like Connor and did not possess strong mental power, as a wizard of the Storm Church, his mental power was not weak either. After Connor's prompting, he naturally sensed the danger coming from behind, so he did not doubt Connor's motives.
However, based on his experience, De Zelby judged that Connor's method of splitting up and breaking through was indeed capable of helping everyone get rid of the fierce and powerful Blackblood Fox Bears behind them.
The Blackblood Fox Bear is a magical beast with a powerful body and extremely high intelligence. In terms of innate strength, it can be said that it surpasses more than 90% of the magical beasts in the world of Warcraft. If one had to nitpick and find a weakness in the Blackblood Fox Bear, then its only weakness might be its speed.
The Blackblood Fox Bear's speed is only average among level four magical beasts comparable to a human wizard. Therefore, the best way for Connor, Dezelby, and their group to break out separately is to take full advantage of the Blackblood Fox Bear's average speed to escape.
Although it seemed to be the best method available, for some reason DeSelby felt that there was something wrong with Connor's approach, but upon closer examination, he couldn't pinpoint the problem...
De Zelby himself couldn't think of a better solution at the moment, and given the current critical situation—the Blackblood Fox Bear could catch up at any time—he didn't have much time to think. So, for everyone's safety, under everyone's watchful eyes, De Zelby decisively nodded and said, "Let's do as Connor Ferguson says. Everyone, gather at the waterfall ten kilometers southeast!"
As De Zerbi gave his order, the arbitrators bowed to him and then disappeared into the gray-white mist, dispersing and retreating.
Meanwhile, Connor, who was fleeing for his life in the gray fog, sensed with his mental power that everyone was scattering and trying to break through. A strange light flickered in his eyes...
Connor unleashed a grayish-white mist and released a pungent gas, which did help to temporarily shake off the Blackblood Fox Bear, which relied on its sense of smell to track its enemies. However, unfortunately, these methods used by Connor could not last long, at most five minutes!
Five minutes later, whether it was Connor, Dezelby, or those Storm Church Arbitrators who only had the cultivation of wizard apprentices, they would all be exposed to the pursuit of the several Blackblood Fox Bears behind them!
