Wizard Earl

Chapter 1003 Crisis!

Although Connor's intervention relieved the pressure on the Storm Church arbitrators, it also undoubtedly prevented him from focusing on Dezerby, who was fighting alone against the Blood-Striped Evil Spider, a being with the strength of a formal wizard. Without Connor's help, Dezerby's situation became dangerous once again...

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Having risked his life to temporarily shove the Blood-Striped Evil Spider away with three tornadoes, Dezerby, with a trickle of blood already seeping from the corner of his mouth, roared at everyone, "Everyone! Prepare to break through!"

Seeing that DeZelby was trying to run away, Connor frowned slightly and called out to him, "Wait ten more minutes!"

Upon hearing that Connor wanted to stop his plan, De Zelby disregarded his dignity as a priest of the Church of Storms and roared at Connor Ferguson, "What do you think you're doing? In ten minutes we'll all be dead here!"

"Look at the sun!" Connor didn't waste any words with De Zelby's roar and shouted directly:

Upon hearing Connor's words, Dezelby instinctively glanced up at the sky. He saw the sun, which had been hidden behind thick clouds, slowly emerging from the clouds, its warm rays beginning to illuminate the earth. Seeing this, the experienced Dezelby immediately thought of the habits and weaknesses of the evil spider, a type of magical beast recorded in ancient texts, and also realized Connor's plan!

"The sun will be fully out in ten minutes at the latest, and these creatures that are used to hiding underground will be very uncomfortable. With the help of sunlight, we can completely drive them away!"

"Look at these evil spiders! Do you think we can shake them off and break through? Just hold on a little longer, and we can drive them all back down there!" To encourage the exhausted arbitrators, Connor shouted his plan to DeZelby.

Upon hearing Connor's plan, the arbitrators glanced at the rising sun and immediately understood how feasible it was. Seeing hope, their spirits lifted, and the situation, which had been on the verge of collapse, was stabilized once again.

After quickly assessing Connor's plan in his mind, Dezerby naturally didn't mention the breakout plan he had just proposed. He also shouted encouragement to the Arbitrators, "The Storm Goddess is with us! Hold on! Not only will we all survive, but the magical beast materials on this ground will also be ours!"

It has to be said that the old man De Zelby has some skill in understanding human nature. If Connor's encouragement gave these arbitrators hope and revitalized their spirits, then De Zelby's words stirred up the greed in their hearts, making them all extremely excited.

After such a long and arduous battle, their search team not only lost one member, but everyone except Connor Ferguson, including Dezerby, was wounded. They paid such a heavy price, and the evil spiders were certainly not faring any better. Eight evil spiders had died, and countless others were injured. Keep in mind that there were only about fifty evil spiders in total, so this casualty rate was close to twenty percent. For any magical beast horde, this was a major blow.

These eight dead evil spirit spiders, four adults and four juveniles, are conservatively valued at nearly eight hundred magic stones as magical beast materials. Divided among them, each person would receive dozens of magical beasts, which is a considerable fortune for the arbitrator, who is only a wizard apprentice.

It's important to know that the Storm Church only distributes about 30 magic stones to intermediate wizard apprentices and 50 magic stones to advanced wizard apprentices a year. So, if they can survive this battle with the evil spiders today, the gains will be quite substantial!

As the king of this group of evil spirit spiders, the Blood-Patterned Evil Spirit Spider, whose intelligence was in no way inferior to that of humans, also noticed the changes in the sun in the sky. This caused a hint of impatience to appear in its usually cold and aloof black eyes. After hesitating for a few seconds, the Blood-Patterned Evil Spirit Spider finally made a decision and suddenly let out a shrill shriek.

"Wipe, rub, rub..."

At first glance, the shriek sounded no different from the shriek made by the Blood-Striped Evil Spider when it attacked Dezelby. But strangely, with this shriek, the other dozens of Evil Spiders that were attacking Connor and the other Arbitrators suddenly stopped attacking and put about ten meters away from these human wizards.

This sudden change immediately plunged everyone, including Connor, into confusion, wondering what these magical beasts were trying to do. Just then, a weak voice suddenly came from among the arbitrators.

"Are these disgusting spiders trying to retreat?"

Upon hearing this conjecture, some of the more optimistic members of the arbitrators' group immediately smiled with delight, thinking that these spiders would soon return to their filthy burrows. However, unfortunately, these evil spirit spiders did not leave as they had imagined. Instead, they gathered around the blood-striped evil spirit spider. Just when everyone was even more puzzled about what they were up to.

As a psychic wizard with exceptionally keen intuition, Connor sensed something, his expression instantly changing drastically. He shouted a warning to the people around him, "They're about to launch a mental attack!"

Upon hearing Connor's warning, although the arbitrators still didn't know what was going to happen, they instinctively took precautions. Just seconds after Connor finished his warning, the Blood-Striped Evil Spider, surrounded by numerous Evil Spiders, let out another piercing shriek.

"Wipe, rub, rub..."

Although the sound was no different from before, what was terrifying was that this shriek was mixed with mental attacks and a large amount of negative emotions.

Aside from Connor, a psychic wizard, Dezelby and his group of arbitrators all showed signs of pain upon hearing the sound. Their faces contorted into grotesque expressions as they covered their ears, trying to block out the shrieks. However, this method of blocking a mental attack was undoubtedly useless except for psychological comfort.
