In these ten months, the Thousand Sons Legion also experienced explosive expansion.

As the Great Expedition progressed, new recruits from Prospero continued to arrive, and the total strength of the legion finally exceeded ten thousand.

The original management model of the five major schools for the Thousand Warriors was already too much for them to handle.

At an academic conference, Magnus officially announced the dismantling of the existing company.

Establish ten academic societies.

That is, ten combat companies, each with a full complement of about one thousand people.

The chief mages of the five major schools served as the company commanders of five of the companies.

The company commanders of the remaining five companies were selected from the most experienced psychics among the five major schools.

Inside the library of the USS Fortep, Li Wei was squatting in an isolation compartment in the corner, dealing with a box of broken stone tablets that had just been unearthed from an ancient tomb of a lost human civilization.

These stone tablets have been buried underground for countless millennia, their surfaces covered with a thick black crust, their crevices filled with hardened, dry soil, and still carrying a faint, almost imperceptible aura of subspace.

He held a small, polished scraper in his hand, scraping away the stone skin bit by bit, carefully examining the ancient patterns carved on it.

Those stone tablets with inscriptions and patterns were scanned into the data panel and stored in the legion's database; those with distorted symbols that caused headaches upon approach were directly thrown into the system to exchange for points.

He had just scraped away half of a stone tablet bearing faint traces of subspace erosion, revealing several lines of crooked Gothic script that read something like, "On the day the stars return to their rightful place, the dead will return to the world."

Li Wei curled his lip; he'd seen plenty of this kind of nonsensical nonsense and was about to casually toss it into the system.

"Chief Think Tank Leader."

The communications soldier called out from the door of the isolation pod.

Li Wei didn't even look up, continuing to scrape the stone tablet in his hand: "What is it?"

"The Legion has just issued orders to split three teams into independent units to clear out small outposts and scattered ruins in the outer star systems."

"Got it," Li Wei replied casually, while in his mind he was still calculating how many points this broken stone tablet could be exchanged for.

He never cared about such military affairs of the legion, since Magnus and Amon were always keeping an eye on things.

Although this was the first time the legion had split up since it set out, Li Wei didn't take it seriously.

He paused, as if suddenly remembering something, and asked again, "Which three societies?"

"The First, Third and Fifth Societies."

Li Wei's scraper suddenly stopped, the tip of which plunged into the stone tablet, chipping off a small piece of stone.

His heart skipped a beat.

The company commander of the First Society was none other than Aliman.

At this moment, all the scenes from ten months ago suddenly came flooding back.

The shattered golden array beneath the Warnum II, the image of Ahriman kneeling on the ground, frantically digging through the rubble...

But Ahriman was perfectly normal for those ten months.

He continued organizing ancient texts as usual, deducing runes as usual, attending meetings with Magnus as usual, and even his tone of voice was exactly the same as before, as if the collapse had never happened.

While everything seemed normal, Li Wei sensed that the thorn in Aliman's heart had never been removed.

Ahriman's demeanor was unusually calm, especially after he had the opportunity to revive his brother Olmuzd but ultimately failed to do so.

But Li Wei had told himself more than once that he might be overthinking things, since Ahriman hadn't done anything out of line in the past ten months.

He sighed helplessly.

After the communications soldier turned and left, Li Wei exchanged the stone tablet, then lowered his head and continued to scrape another stone tablet, cleaning the stubborn dirt off it.

But his mind was in complete turmoil, and his hand movements were completely out of control.

Either you scrape off a perfectly good rune and turn it into a blank sheet, or you can't scrape off a single speck of dirt even after a long time.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt something was wrong.

After scraping a couple more times, Li Wei threw the scraper into the box.

I can't keep doing this.

No matter how valuable the stone tablet in his hand was, it couldn't compare to the safety of the entire Thousand Sons Legion.

He dusted the stone dust off his hands, got up, and walked out of the isolation ward.

Walk through the long corridor of the Fortep.

This Glory Queen-class battleship is indeed terrifyingly large. The ceiling of the corridor is so high that you can't see the top. It is painted with Prospero's complete star map, and the walls are covered with gilded psionic patterns that stretch all the way to the end of your sight.

There was no deafening roar of machinery like on other warships; everything was quiet.

The thousand cultivators, clad in crimson power armor, were either carrying thick ancient books as they walked and read, or leaning against marble pillars with their eyes closed in meditation. Occasionally, two people would brush past each other, exchanging only a quiet greeting.

Seeing the calm scene before him, Li Wei felt even more uneasy.

Qianzi's journey was too peaceful. He always felt that something was wrong with this tranquility. The malice hidden deep in the subspace would not let them go so easily.

He walked all the way to the deepest part of the ship, the lightless training area. There was no light source here, and it was shrouded in absolute darkness all year round. It was the exclusive residence of the Blind Order.

Ammon was meditating in the very center of the darkness when he heard footsteps and immediately opened his eyes.

After recognizing Li Wei, he stopped meditating, performed a standard salute, and then spoke:

"chief."

Li Wei didn't speak, but raised his hand and quickly sketched runes in the air.

The pale golden patterns swirled in the air before transforming into a semi-transparent spherical light shield that firmly rested on the heads of the two people.

This is the Sosmes Mark, the highest-level isolation array personally passed down by Magnus. Ordinary technology and psionic listening devices cannot penetrate it at all. Even those beings in the warp cannot peek into any movement inside the shield.

The moment the light shield completely closed, Li Wei lowered his voice and spoke:

"Brother Amon, please send your ten best members of the Blind Order to infiltrate the First Society's entourage. They don't need to interfere in anything, they don't need to conduct any investigations, they just need to keep an eye on Ahriman."

Record all his routes, all the planets he visited, and everything he did when he was alone, especially any actions involving psionic rituals and runic calculations.

He paused, then added, word by word:

"All intelligence must be passed on to me alone. Do not tell Magnus, do not tell any company commander, not even the other men under your command."

Amon didn't ask why; he simply nodded slightly.

Ever since Li Wei risked his life to stop the first flesh mutation and save the Thousand Sons Legion, Amon had long regarded him as a comrade-in-arms to whom he could entrust his life, and he would always carry out Li Wei's orders to the best of his ability.

Although he was Magnus's personal attendant, he was also Magnus's teacher and the most loyal protector of the Thousand Sons.

He was well aware of Magnus's character flaws, although Livy had no right to overstep the normal legionary command chain and arbitrarily command the Thousand Sons' intelligence and spy organization, the Order of the Blind.

But as long as Livy does not go against Magnus's will or the legion's fundamental interests, he will cooperate without hesitation.
