Chapter 105 Debate

"Chief Li Wei, come and take a look. I've built over a hundred colossal statues based on the blueprints you gave me."

Peturabo caught sight of Levi looking around not far behind Magnus and greeted him.

"You've arrived, Your Excellency Peturabo."

Li Wei, who was still observing the array of colossi, turned his gaze away upon hearing this and immediately stepped onto the hard, gray-brown ground, walking up to the excited Peturabo with the crunching sound of his shoes grinding over the gravel.

"Hmm..." Perturabo, with an arrogant expression, looked him up and down. He noticed Li Wei's slightly pale face but didn't pay it any mind, assuming it was because Li Wei had been on the ship for many years without seeing the sun.

He then patted Li Wei heavily on the shoulder and pointed to the imposing and ferocious war statues all around.

"Look, the war colossus built using the blueprints for the Golden Age war machine you gave me is indeed incredibly powerful."

Peturabo's words were filled with barely concealed excitement, and his tone was full of gratitude towards Li Wei.

But this enthusiastic praise sounded extremely grating to Li Wei's ears.

He remembered that more than a decade ago, he had demanded that the Iron Warrior Legion deliver the full amount of Colossus War Machines on time, but Peturabo had brushed it off with the excuse of a shortage of raw materials.

But where did those hundreds of perfectly equipped colossi come from? He remembered that the massive amount of supplies allocated to the Steel Warrior Legion were all special alloys adapted for the production of colossi.

In the end, they only received 5,000 Terminator armors, but not a single Colossus War Machine.

However, the Thousand Sons Legion and the Iron Warriors Legion were located in vastly different war zones during the Great Expedition. After much discussion with Magnus, the Primarch of the Thousand Sons, Livy could only pretend not to know and was not about to rashly break off relations.

With a calm expression, Li Wei glanced around at the surrounding colossi and said unhurriedly, "Lord Peturabo, why do these colossi all seem to be pointing their weapons at real enemies?"

His tone was extremely calm, but as soon as he finished speaking, the harmonious atmosphere in the room suddenly froze, leaving only the low hum of the Stormhawk engine that had just stopped not far away.

Perturabo, the Steel Lord, known for his volatile temper, darkened his expression and said coldly, "Lord Li Wei, it's been more than a decade. You still know how to talk, every word is barbed."

He paused, then said in a seemingly relaxed tone, "It was just a coincidence; we were conducting routine military exercises."

"Is that so?" Li Wei raised an eyebrow, but gave no leeway, and said with a half-smile.

Magnus, who had been watching with a smile, also stepped between Perturabo and Levi to smooth things over, saying, "Brother Perturabo, Chief Levi always likes to say some bluffing things, you'll get used to it."

"Hmm..." Perturab's expression softened slightly now that he had a way out, but he still felt something was off. He felt that Levi was playing the bad cop and his brother Magnus was playing the good cop.

He was speechless, realizing they were treating him like a child.

Perturabo snorted and said stiffly, "Since you're here, why don't the Thousand Sons Legion stay and observe our Iron Warriors' exercises?"

After saying that, he turned around and strode ahead to lead the way to a high observation platform not far away. It was a platform more than 100 meters high, built of gray-white rocks, which stood out among the hundreds of giant statues and was enough to overlook the entire site.

"My Lord Archmage, it seems things are not going well."

Li Wei watched Peturabo's retreating figure and lowered his voice.

"Indeed, but it was the right decision to come, otherwise we wouldn't know what happened."

Magnus, who had been smiling the whole time, also stopped smiling and said in a deep voice.

Magnus's psychic perception was already extremely strong, allowing Li Wei to detect the hidden hostility of hundreds of colossi early on, and he was no exception.

However, as Peturabo's brother, he couldn't directly break off relations, but Li Wei didn't disappoint him, always able to pinpoint the problem and extract some truth from Peturabo.

Although Li Wei's words were still somewhat harsh, his status as the chief think tank of the Thousand Sons was actually too low for the Primarch to punish him, and Peturabo could not really retaliate. Instead, this allowed his side to gain the upper hand in terms of reason and morality.

As for Peturabo, who couldn't stand it and directly took action, Livy and Magnus were more than happy to do so.

Although close combat is not a psychic's forte, with Levi and Magnus working together, Perturabo would definitely be subdued.

"Let's go." Magnus took the lead, guiding the Terminator warriors of the Guard Scarab Order, slowly walking away under the watchful eyes of the Iron Warriors and Iron Gray Terminator warriors standing guard all around.

Li Wei quickly followed behind, and finally climbed up the spiraling gray-white stone platform.

As soon as he stepped onto the platform, he saw through the railing at the edge of the open-air platform that two colossal statues covered with dark blue energy shields were locked in a fierce battle. The shockwaves from the roar of the cannons even swirled up dust from the platform and rushed towards him, but they were blocked by the golden psionic shield that Li Wei immediately raised.

Through the golden psionic membrane, Li Wei saw Perturabo squinting, looking smugly at the arena. He then spoke, "Well, quite powerful indeed, Magnus brothers. How does it feel?"

"Hmm, it's really good, but..."

Magnus, stroking his chin, deliberately dragged out his words, keeping Peturabo in suspense.

The impatient Peturabo knew Magnus was being coy, but he patiently said in a deep voice, "Brother Magnus, just say what you have to say, I'm listening."

"Then let Chief Executive Officer Li Wei talk to you."

Magnus, smiling, turned to look at Levi and said casually.

"Hmm?" Perturabo frowned, completely bewildered. "Lord Levi, you Primarchs of the Thousand Children always like to speak in riddles. You wouldn't do that too, would you? You always speak very directly."

In the end, Peturabo emphasized the words "mouth" and "speaking," clearly still angry about Levi's sharp words.

"Hmm..." Li Wei listened to Perturabo's pointed remark but made no comment. Instead, he walked to the edge of the platform, pointed at the two colossi that were fighting, one of which had a steel arm being torn apart, and said unhurriedly, "Lord Perturabo, the Iron Warrior Legion is not maintaining our Thousand Sons' war machines very well. Also, the number of colossi we originally ordered was only fifty. How come there are twice as many?"

As Li Wei finished speaking, Peturabo, who had been keeping a sullen face, was just about to hear what serious insights Li Wei, who was beating around the bush, could come up with, but he did not expect that the chief of the Thousand Sons would say something completely irrelevant.

He remembered that he had only asked Magnus to make suggestions, and Magnus had asked Levi to make suggestions. Had he not made himself clear?
