Wizard Immortal
Chapter 63 Evidence
Chapter 63 Evidence
More than two months later.
As the surrounding scenery rushed past him, Adir stood on the deck, gazing quietly into the distance.
Behind him, a group of apprentices stood quietly around him, gathered together.
Compared to when Adir first boarded the ship, there were now many more people on board.
Over the course of two months, the ship docked at more than a dozen places, bringing together seven or eight apprentices at each location, and as few as three or four, to fill the ship's apprenticeship.
However, as Andrew had said before, very few of the apprentices who boarded the ship later had excellent qualifications. Out of more than a hundred people, only one apprentice had a third-class qualification and was eventually assigned to be around Adir and the others.
"This is the last place. After we get past this point, it will be a few days before we reach our destination."
Beside Adir, Andrew held a glass of fruit wine and spoke with some excitement.
"Yes, it's almost over," Adir sighed in agreement, without saying anything more.
The scene fell silent for a moment, until a voice rang out again.
"Adir, once you get there, which academy do you plan to join?"
A woman's voice rang in my ears, sounding like a standard greeting, but somewhat stiff.
Adir glanced to the side, where Cisti stood quietly watching him on his right.
The red-haired girl was dressed in a conservative red and white long dress, and her expression was somewhat indifferent and stiff.
In that instant, Adir felt his left hand being patted.
To his left, Andrew gave him a bright smile, with a peculiar meaning, as if he were encouraging something.
"I'm not quite sure yet, is there any particular custom involved?"
Looking at the two people beside him, Adir shook his head with a gentle smile and said.
Seeing his expression, Cisti gave a stiff smile: "Of course."
"Our destination is where wizards live. There are many schools and colleges of wizards there, and they regularly recruit apprentices."
"With your qualifications, Adir, I believe many academies there would be willing to accept you."
Hearing this, Adir was somewhat puzzled: "Joining a wizarding school only requires meeting certain aptitude requirements? No other conditions are needed?"
As soon as he finished speaking, he saw the two people around him looking at him with surprise.
"Of course not. For people with average aptitude, in order to join those wizarding academies, in addition to having sufficient aptitude, they also need to pay tuition fees," Andrew said from the side. "But for someone with aptitude like Adir, joining those academies is not difficult at all. There are plenty of academies willing to admit you without charging tuition fees."
"Of course, besides these normal methods, there is supposedly another way."
Sisti, standing nearby, remarked, "Some powerful wizards create unique enchanted items as tokens to give to certain individuals."
"If we can obtain these credentials, we can directly enter the school of the corresponding wizard and even receive some gifts from them."
"According to the records, a wizard who can leave behind a certificate is at least a formal wizard. To directly enter the tutelage of such a powerful wizard is already a pretty good starting point compared to others."
Upon hearing this, Adir subconsciously touched his chest, thinking of the black amulet that Count Poria had given him.
According to Count Poria, the amulet was a magical artifact made by a wizard, left behind by the ancestors of the Fakus family, and was undoubtedly a piece of evidence.
Adir had initially thought such credentials weren't particularly rare, but now it seemed he had underestimated their value. Otherwise, even Andrew and Cisty wouldn't have sounded envious.
He remained expressionless, standing still as he continued to talk to them word by word, gradually learning some information about the Wizarding Continent.
On the Wizarding Continent, the competition among wizards is equally fierce. Wizards of different schools and academies will have disagreements and disputes, which are far more intense than in other places.
Based on their organizational structure, wizards can be broadly categorized into wandering wizards, schools of wizards, and academies, in addition to those who live together as families.
Wandering wizards refer to ordinary people who have unknowingly acquired some wizarding skills, as well as wizards who are alone in other places for various reasons. They are generally weaker due to a lack of inheritance and resources.
Schools of wizards are often brought together by shared beliefs. They are usually passed down from master to apprentice, and their strength varies. Some are strong while others are weak, but they are generally not many in number and do not recruit a large number of apprentices.
The academies, on the other hand, are the real main force. They often develop from a single school of thought or wizarding family, which gathers a large number of wizards and is the main force that recruits a large number of apprentices.
Apprentices like Andrew and Sisti are usually only able to enter these wizarding colleges.
However, apprentices who join in this way are often initially taught by a group of high-ranking wizard apprentices, without a dedicated mentor.
Unless one advances to the rank of advanced apprentice before a certain age, in which case a mentor will take notice and personally teach them, they will have to pay for their own classes at the expense of formal wizards. Not only does each step of their learning require a great deal of effort and money, but they also have to find the resources they need to advance through the ranks themselves.
Those born into wizarding families, like Andrew and Sisti, are better off, as they at least have their families to help them. But those apprentices born into commoner families, even if they have enough talent and luck to barely become advanced apprentices, simply cannot gather the resources for advancement.
If someone like Adir had the corresponding credentials, the situation would be different.
They can start by studying under a mentor who is at least a formal wizard, putting them at a huge disadvantage from the very beginning.
Thinking of this, Adir couldn't help but sigh, deeply understanding the weight of Count Poria's gift.
"I'm afraid that this token I possess is the only one left in the entire Fakus family."
Adir stood there, the thought flashing through his mind.
When he was with Duke Ariel, the Duke told him a lot about wizards, but he didn't mention anything about credentials.
It now appears that this certificate was kept secret by Count Poria's branch of the family, for the sake of their descendants. They planned to give it to a promising descendant, giving him a greater chance to rise to prominence.
Adir estimated that this certificate should originally have been given to the direct descendants of Count Poria. However, in recent years, there have been too few people with wizarding aptitude in the Fakus family. The only one to appear, Count Poria's eldest son, was said to have not shown much wizarding aptitude, so in the end, Adir had no choice but to give it to him at the last minute.
P.S.: Sorry for the late update, this is chapter two. The reason the previous chapter was posted this morning seems to be due to a delay; it was posted around 8 AM (laughing and crying). You can check the table of contents to see it.
