Chapter 37 Injuries

Chapter 37 Injuries

The next day, in the early morning, light footsteps could be heard outside the door.

A middle-aged maid gently pushed open the door, holding a broom in her hand, and was about to go in when she suddenly noticed a figure inside.

She was taken aback for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening, and an uneasy expression rose on her face: "Lord Adir! You're back?"

In the spacious room, a young man sat quietly at a wooden table, holding a light blue cloth and wiping a black longsword.

Only after seeing the maid outside the door did he turn around and look at her: "Come in."

"Yes!" The maid nodded respectfully, her anxiety subsiding slightly, and carefully entered the room.

"While I was away, you were the one cleaning my room, right?" Adir asked.

Hearing this, the maid was somewhat puzzled, but still nodded and said, "Yes."

After a while, Adir asked her a few more questions before standing up and taking out a few gold coins from the side, placing them on the table: "This is your payment for the time being. After you leave, remember to have someone bring me breakfast!"

Seeing the few gold coins in front of her, the maid was overjoyed. She quickly bowed to Adir, took the gold coins from the table, and then left.

Once her figure had disappeared from Adir's sight, Adir stood up and muttered to himself thoughtfully, "Eight days have passed in total. It seems that the time flow in the two worlds should be about the same. I need to be more careful in the future."

He stood there silently for a while, until the sound of footsteps continued to be heard outside the door.

"Adir! My brother!" A hearty and familiar voice came from outside the door.

Under Adir's gaze, Earl Poria's second son, Elvar, walked over from a distance.

He was dressed in a red shirt, with a long sword at his waist, and his appearance was impeccably groomed. A genuine smile graced his face as he quickly approached Adir.

As the other person approached, Adir had no choice but to put on a friendly smile: "Elwa, what brings you here?"

"I just got back a couple of days ago. I had just arrived at the castle when I heard the news that you had been promoted to knight."

Elwar walked over to Adir, patted him on the shoulder, and looked at him with concern: "Where have you been all this time? I couldn't find you anywhere around the castle."

The moment his hand landed on Adir's shoulder, Adir tensed up and instinctively wanted to jump up and throw him off.

He quickly realized what was happening, forcibly suppressing the impulse in his heart, and calmly explained, "I went to the forest for a while."

"I recently asked some hunters in the area to help me collect some materials, so I went out for a while and only just got back."

Elwar didn't doubt this explanation much, and simply smiled and said, "Next time you leave the castle, remember to tell the guards. Things are different now than before; the situation around here is a bit chaotic, and staying outside for too long is somewhat dangerous."

Adis nodded, then asked with some curiosity, "Has the situation at the front reached this point? Even the area around the castle isn't safe anymore?"

"Not at all," Elwar laughed. "Although the battle on the front lines is still at a stalemate, according to the news we've received, it's almost over."

"Although most of the orcs have been suppressed, it seems that some small tribes have moved south and infiltrated from the border, wreaking havoc everywhere during this period."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "The orcs you encountered with Knight Fular last time should be part of these orc tribes that have migrated south. They've all run into the territory of the northern nobles, causing us a lot of trouble lately."

After saying this, he patted Adir on the shoulder again: "You should rest here for a while. In a couple of days, there may be orders to have you lead a team to suppress those scattered orcs."

Adir nodded and escorted Elwa to the door before stopping.

Two days later, just as Elvar had predicted, after learning that Adir had returned to the castle, Count Poria indeed issued an order to transfer Adir out of the castle.

At dawn, Adir rode a white horse and quietly walked to a flat area outside the castle.

There, a group of warriors were already assembling and standing in formation. Among them, Adir spotted a familiar figure.

At the front of the procession stood a tall and imposing middle-aged knight, clad in black armor, his dignified face bearing a solemn expression.

"Lord Fular!"

Upon seeing the middle-aged knight, Adir quickly walked to the front of the group and shouted loudly at the knight.

Hearing the familiar voice, Fular turned around to look at Adir, a smile appearing on his face: "Adir, it's been a long time."

"It has indeed been a long time," Adir said with a respectful smile.

As he spoke, he shouted into the chip in his mind, "Chip, analyze the other party's physical data."

In an instant, the chip in his mind responded to him.

「姓名:拂拉尔。力量:3.3(4.7)。敏捷:3.1(4.4)。体质:3.3(4.5)。」

Looking at this number, Adir sighed inwardly.

More than half a month has passed since the last battle, and the aftereffects of the opponent's Life Seed eruption have not completely disappeared. If the Life Seed eruption is not taken into account, the opponent's current combat strength is not even as good as a newly promoted knight.

To some extent, this also illustrates Count Poria's predicament; he had to send out even a seriously wounded knight, which shows that he really didn't have many men left to use.

Of course, if Fular is like this, Adir is not much better off.

「姓名:阿帝尔.法库斯。力量:3.5(5.1)。敏捷:3.3(5)。体质:3.7(5.3)。」

This is the result of Adir's previous life seed eruption. Although the data looks better, it is actually more tragic than that of Fular.

After all, his physical condition was far superior to his opponent's, and the fact that he had ended up in this state was enough to demonstrate the severity of the consequences.

Thinking of this, Adir silently reached to his waist, took out a black crystal core, and held it tightly in his palm.

A familiar warm current slowly flowed from the crystal core to all parts of his body, improving his physical fitness and accelerating the healing of his injuries.

"It'll be soon, it'll be soon..."

Silently walking to the side of the group, feeling the changes in his body, Adir muttered to himself.

He had a strong premonition that when his physical injuries were fully healed, it would be the time for him to be promoted to Grand Knight.
