Chapter 34 Ghost

Chapter 34 Ghost

Boom!

In the dead of night, two pale corpses fell to the ground at the same time, their bodies split into several pieces.

Glancing at the corpse on the ground out of the corner of his eye, Adir did not stop, and slashed downwards with his longsword.

Roar! ! !

A chilling growl echoed from the spot, and the corpse's pale face looked so ferocious as it madly charged towards Adir.

He was incredibly fast, reaching Adir in an instant, his pale hands reaching out as if trying to grab the person in front of him.

A powerful force struck him from in front of him, and Adir kicked the corpse in the chest, leaving a huge dent in the body that looked horrifying.

He stomped his foot, pinning the corpse beneath him to the ground, and swung his longsword in his right hand, bringing it down fiercely.

Black corpse blood slowly spread out, and under the stimulation of life energy, the humanoid monster beneath their feet was completely annihilated and could no longer regenerate.

"Only one is left."

Adir turned and looked at the last spot.

There, he severed the limbs of the last humanoid monster, leaving only its body trembling and fleshy buds growing out, a sight that sent chills down one's spine.

"I wonder if you'd even survive if they just chopped your head off."

Looking at the corpse at his feet, Adir's face was cold. He swung his longsword down, creating a whistling wind.

In this attack, he deliberately did not activate the life energy within his body, relying solely on the longsword itself to strike.

bump!

As if striking solid metal, the sharp longsword struck the corpse's neck with a crisp clang.

Although the longsword pierced into the flesh, it got stuck in the middle and failed to cut off the corpse's head directly.

Adir expressionlessly drew his sword, then forcefully swung it down with his right hand.

He held nothing back this time, unleashing the full power of a knight at his peak, putting it all into this one strike.

With a crisp sound, the corpse's pale head was severed by the longsword, and then immediately kicked aside by Adir, without giving it any chance to heal.

After doing all this, he walked to the side and quietly observed the corpse's reaction.

The pale corpse was no longer human-shaped; its limbs and head had been severed by Adir and forcibly separated to one side.

At the broken wound, granulation tissue continued to grow and wriggle, eventually turning the entire body into a lump of putty.

His limbs and head were the same; after being separated from the main body, they not only did not lose their activity, but became even more active, completely wrapped in granulation tissue, and constantly wriggling there.

"Ha, he really is a monster!"

Seeing this, Adir's face turned cold. The black longsword in his right hand flashed with the light of life energy. He stepped forward and stabbed each chunk of flesh with his sword.

As life energy spreads across the meat, its vitality quickly disappears, and it slowly softens, resembling an ordinary lump of meat.

As these corpses died, a miraculous scene began to unfold.

On these corpses, a faint light slowly flickered, eventually spreading across the entire body and burning like a blazing fire, illuminating the surroundings.

Adir watched this scene unfold silently, and only after it was over did he command the chip in his mind: "Chip, replay that scene!"

In an instant, the scene from just moments ago replayed before his eyes.

In the images recorded by the chip, after death, the corpses seemed to be affected by some force, their flesh rapidly decomposing and disappearing, but no light appeared.

"Hallucination?"

After watching several different replays, Adir stood there muttering to himself.

The next moment, he shook his head and gave up on pursuing the matter.

Having arrived in this strange world, Adir has accumulated enough doubts in just a few days, and he can't find any answers in a short time.

He walked forward and searched through the bones of several corpses, finding four black crystals.

Compared to the crystal core he had obtained before, these four crystal cores were much smaller, each only half the size of the previous one.

Adir held these crystal cores, and through direct physical contact, a faint warmth slowly flowed through his body.

"The subject has been detected to be affected by an unknown force, and physical attributes are being enhanced!" The voice of the chip machine sounded in his mind at the same time.

what! !

Just then, a woman's scream suddenly rang out in the distance, immediately attracting Adir's attention.

He put away the crystal core, a cold glint in his eyes, and slowly walked toward the direction from which the sound came.

Adir hadn't actually arrived late on purpose; he had been lured away by something else.

Last night, he had a vague feeling that something special had infiltrated the area, which drew his attention away from the mutated corpses.

He walked slowly forward, looking around.

All around, the buildings were completely silent, without a sound or light, appearing utterly still.

This is not normal.

The village wasn't very large. Putting aside the scream Erri had made earlier, the sounds of Adir fighting those mutated corpses should have been heard by some of the villagers.

A faint, lingering scent of blood drifted through the air, appearing even more terrifying under the cover of night.

Adir moved very cautiously.

Upon arriving here, a long-lost sense of danger rose within him, and an inexplicable palpitation violently assaulted his mind, as if reminding him of something.

"An unknown force field is looming ahead! We recommend leaving this area immediately!"

The mechanical voice of the chip in his mind rang out rapidly, urging him to leave quickly.

Adir suddenly paused, then slowly raised his head.

High up on the roof, a woman's figure stood silently, her long hair hanging down to her ankles, looking somewhat terrifying.

Seemingly sensing Adir's gaze, she slowly raised her head, revealing her appearance.

It was a woman's face that had already rotted away, and white worms were constantly wriggling on her face, which was terrifying and disgusting.

On his decaying face, a pair of bloodshot eyes, filled with endless negative emotions, stared at Adir with hatred and madness.

what! ! !

She let out a sharp and terrifying scream that reverberated through the surrounding space, carrying a terrifying negative emotion that made Adir's heart tremble.

"Was that scream from her earlier?"

Adir felt a jolt in his mind, as if his soul had been stolen by the other person's scream, leaving only this thought in his mind.

A dark shadow rushed in quickly, and a claw larger than a normal person's head reached out to grab Adir, seemingly wanting to crush his head in one fell swoop.
