Navigator: I have a double six-story house
Chapter 9 Headshot, Double Kill
Gunshots rang out inside the cabin, and the air fell into a deathly silence.
Old Ham had a smile on his face, but his eyes were lined with wrinkles.
The years and the hard work in the fields did not take away his happiness.
But the bullet did it.
Just above his brow, a blood hole the size of a thumb oozed a line of blood that flowed into the smile on his lips.
He swayed twice in his chair, then fell backward onto the dining table with a thud.
On the dining table, the delicious meat soup was still steaming.
Wang Yao's pupils trembled incessantly, and the half-eaten black bread in his hand fell onto the table and rolled to the ground.
"Su Qing!"
This was the first time in so many years that he had called Su Qing by her full name.
Wang Yao suddenly stood up, grabbed Su Qing by the collar, and lifted him up.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Su Qing did not struggle; he simply took the powder flask from his waist and loaded gunpowder into the barrel.
His movements were very steady.
"He's just an old man who farms!"
"He treated us to dinner, why did you kill him!"
Su Qing remained silent, only loading ammunition.
"Did you hear that?!" Wang Yao's voice boomed in his ear. "He's just an ordinary person!"
Su Qing ignored him, stuffing the lead bullet into the muzzle with her left hand and pulling out the cleaning rod with her right.
Wang Yao's arm veins bulged, and he gripped Su Qing's hand even tighter, his chest heaving violently.
He glanced down at his brother Ham on the ground.
Blood flowed slowly, staining the gray-black wooden floor crimson.
The face still held a smile, and the eyes, still open, stared blankly at the ceiling.
"Aaaaaah!!"
Screams erupted from the direction of the kitchen.
It was Old Ham's wife who heard the strange noise and came out to investigate.
He was still holding the sharp knife he used for cutting vegetables.
She saw her husband on the ground, and the floor stained red with blood.
"what!"
She let out a scream, a heart-wrenching sound, and without saying a word, she simply raised the kitchen knife high and slashed at Su Qing.
The biggest problem with the Musketeer class is its reload speed.
The musket in his hand was not yet fully loaded.
Su Qing raised her head, not looking at the cleaver coming at her, but at Wang Yao beside her.
He didn't ask for help or offer any explanation; he just looked at Wang Yao calmly.
"Grass!"
Wang Yao swore, and then he moved.
He grabbed the iron shield leaning against the table leg, stepped to the side, and stood in front of Su Qing.
The shield swept out horizontally and struck the woman's side waist directly.
The woman was sent flying by the shield, crashing into the wooden shelf by the door and scattering pots and pans all over the floor.
Wang Yao turned around and pointed at Su Qing, his voice filled with barely suppressed anger, "You'd better give me a reasonable explanation."
Su Qing remained silent, continuing to push the plunger all the way in.
He pulled out the lance and raised his gun.
He pointed the gun at the "woman" who, in his eyes, was struggling to get up, her body twisted in a bizarre way.
"Bang!"
In Su Qing's eyes, a twisted and bizarre monster hadn't even gotten up before its head was blown off by a single shot.
The room finally fell silent again.
Behind the silence was the smell of gunpowder smoke and an increasingly strong stench.
Wang Yao's hand holding the shield was trembling.
He looked down at the woman's corpse on the ground, his lips moving but he couldn't speak.
He couldn't understand how Su Qing, who had grown up with him since childhood, could so cruelly kill two kind, ordinary people.
"Look at her," Su Qing's voice remained calm, "look closely."
Wang Yao didn't want to look, but he still subconsciously lowered his head and looked at the corpse.
Then his pupils contracted sharply.
The woman lying on the ground was not the middle-aged woman with a rosy cheeks and an apron.
That wasn't a person at all; it was a lump of something.
Its grayish-green skin is covered with scaly patches.
His face was a distorted mess, with a slanted crack through which sharp teeth, dangling bits of flesh, were visible.
The apron is real.
But behind the apron was a rotting, blackened body, dripping with foul-smelling slime.
Wang Yao suddenly turned his head to look at the old man's corpse.
The corpse on the floor had changed too.
His once short, gray hair had long since disappeared, replaced by a bald scalp covered in pustules.
That "honest" face was split in two, the jaw was wide open, and the tongue was split in two and rested on the chest, covered with barbs.
Wang Yao's stomach was churning.
He covered his mouth, took two steps back, and bumped his back against the wall.
"What the hell is this?!"
Su Qing was already loading the third bullet.
"What do you think?" he asked, pouring gunpowder into the barrel of the gun. "Where are we now?"
Wang Yao froze for a second, then something clicked in his mind.
"Hell Dungeon!"
When he uttered those four words, he suddenly realized something was wrong.
Yes, they're in a hellish dungeon, a hellish dungeon that devours people without spitting out their bones.
How could he forget?
The wheat fields, the stream, the big yellow dog, the children chasing after him...
"Holy shit!"
It was only then that he truly realized that his thinking had been influenced by something.
The moment this thought arose, the surrounding scenery began to distort and dissolve.
The walls of the wooden house peeled away, revealing black, writhing flesh beneath.
The beams on the ceiling were bent and drooping, like the ribs of some huge creature.
The sunlight outside the window disappeared, replaced by a viscous, dark red light seeping out from the cracks in the flesh walls.
But it only lasted for two seconds before the warm sunshine returned.
Wooden walls, wooden windows, and the aroma of meat broth.
A wave of nausea rose from the bottom of my stomach.
Immediately afterwards, a thought was suddenly shoved into Wang Yao's mind.
Kill Su Qing!
It was crystal clear; it wasn't his own thought, yet it exploded deep within his consciousness.
A voice was telling him that Su Qing had shattered everything.
Kill him, and I can go back to that bowl of hot soup, back to that warm little house.
His right hand gripped the shield uncontrollably.
"Um?"
Su Qing noticed that something was wrong with Wang Yao. It seemed that the dungeon was having a far more serious impact on Wang Yao than he had imagined.
We must find a way to break him out of our control!
In a split second, Su Qing came up with a plan. He leaned close to Wang Yao's ear and whispered something.
"Think of long, black-stockinged legs."
Wang Yao's brain went blank for a second.
Then that disgusting murderous intent, which didn't belong to him, was completely washed away by a more primal and instinctive force.
His eyes regained their clarity, and the surrounding scenery stopped jumping around and became completely still.
This is not a farmhouse or log cabin; it is a sac-like cavity made of fleshy walls.
The table was still the same table, but the pot of "broth" on it contained a bunch of unidentifiable black paste, which was still bubbling on the surface.
The two of them tacitly avoided looking down or thinking about what they had eaten earlier.
At the same time, he turned around and faced the "door" that had turned into a layer of gray flesh.
Su Qing set up the musket, but suddenly turned around and said something to Wang Yao.
"It's time to fucking wake up and burn the whole village to ashes!"
His voice was unusually filled with anger.
I don't know if it was because I was tricked by the dungeon or because of that bowl of meat soup.
