Navigator: I have a double six-story house
Chapter 79 The Debauchery Bar
Su Qing had originally suggested that they try to resolve the issue using methods other than combat.
It now seems that only one war is possible.
The other party was not unaware of Luther's intentions.
Luther and the talented captain Han Ce must have already discussed it.
Su Qing pondered for a moment, then unconsciously turned the ring on her finger.
Since we can't avoid it, we might as well step into it.
A trap is something that is called a trap when you don't know it's there, but it's not a trap when you know where it is.
Call it an opportunity.
Boom boom boom!
There was a knock on the door. Su Qing opened it, and standing outside was Wang Yao, who was already wearing plate armor and holding a shield.
He lowered his voice and spoke softly.
"Su-zai, I'm ready. When are we going to make our move?"
Su Qing glanced at him.
"Put the shield away."
Wang Yao was stunned.
"Wasn't it to smash that dog named Luther's head in, to avenge the younger generation?"
"Not now," Su Qing said, stepping out of the room. "Let's go for a walk first."
Wang Yao's face was full of doubt.
"Didn't you say you couldn't tell anyone before?"
"The plan has changed."
"Then when will you beat someone up?"
Su Qing and Selena had already left the room and were walking towards the corridor. Su Qing did not look back.
"No rush, let's play around with them first."
Wang Yao pursed his lips, put away his shield, tucked it behind his back, and quickly followed.
The three of them didn't wander off onto the street; they needed "guidance."
Guided by a servant within the union, Su Qing arrived at Luther's office.
When Luther saw Su Qing and the others arrive, he quickly got up from his leather seat to greet them, wearing his standard smile.
"Captain Su Qing, what are your orders?"
Su Qing had her hands in her pockets, looking very relaxed.
"It's too stuffy staying indoors, I want to go out for a walk."
"You're in charge here, do you have any good recommendations?"
He looked at Luther with a casual expression, as if he really just wanted to take a stroll.
Luther pushed up his glasses, pretending to be deep in thought.
"If you're looking to stroll around... there's a pretty good coffee shop on West Harbor Street."
"There's an open-air market in the North Square where you can occasionally find some interesting little trinkets, but Captain Su Qing definitely wouldn't be interested in those things."
He paused for a moment, as if he had suddenly thought of something.
"There's another place."
There's a bar in the East District called "Debauchery".
"If you want to relax, nothing feels better than an ice-cold beer after a hard day's work."
"only......"
Su Qing raised an eyebrow. "Just what?"
"Besides drinking, you can also play a couple of rounds of games there."
After saying that, Luther glanced at Selena.
"It wasn't organized by the Chamber of Commerce; it was organized spontaneously by the captain and crew."
"You can gamble not only on copper coins and silver coins, but on anything."
"Resources, items, equipment, and even crew members can be used as chips and put on the table."
He raised his eyes and looked at Su Qing.
"I heard that some people have even won invitations there."
After saying this, Luther smiled and waved his hand.
"But that's just a rumor."
"Captain Su Qing, just go over there for a drink. If you really want to have some fun, don't get carried away."
"After all, a little gambling is harmless, but excessive gambling is harmful to health."
Su Qing had long since figured out Luther's tricks.
It's not just inducement, it's an open conspiracy.
He knew what Su Qing wanted, so he laid out the bait in the open.
They even offered a perfunctory warning, saying that a little gambling is harmless fun, but excessive gambling is harmful to health.
Most people wouldn't listen to this advice when faced with temptation.
Since that's the case, I have no choice but to answer.
I just don't know whether I'm the fish you caught, or I'm the one who ate the bait.
Or perhaps, the angler is pulled into the water and perishes in the mouth of the fish?
Su Qing put on a carefully crafted expression.
First came a casual raised eyebrow, then restraint, and finally an irresistible interest.
He patted his chest.
"Oh, I'll just go over and have some fun, it's nothing."
"I do have self-control."
Luther's smile deepened, and he took a cloth bag from his robe and handed it over.
"Captain Su rarely gets to relax ashore. This hundred silver coins is for the station's hospitality expenses. Take it and have fun."
Su Qing took the bag and weighed it in her hand.
"Then you won't be polite."
Luther watched the three leave the courtyard, a smile always on his face.
He only looked away and turned back to his office after the three figures had completely disappeared around the street corner.
On the stone-paved road, Wang Yao approached Su Qing, his brows furrowed.
"Su Zai".
"Um."
"Have you always said you wouldn't gamble since you were a child?"
Wang Yao's tone was genuinely confused.
"When we were in the orphanage, you never touched cards when others were playing."
Su Qing had her right hand in her pocket, her thumb slowly rubbing the edge of the ring on her index finger.
"Just playing around."
Wang Yao looked at him for two seconds but couldn't discern anything from his face.
"Alright."
He raised a finger.
"But you can't get carried away."
Su Qing nodded.
Selena walked behind the two without saying anything, but the corners of her mouth were slightly upturned.
The "Flamboyant" bar in the East District is more impressive than I imagined.
The two-story wooden building had an iron sign hanging at the entrance that read "Debauchery" and had a red lipstick painted next to it.
The moment the door was pushed open, the smell of alcohol and tobacco hit me, mixed with the crisp sound of dice hitting the wooden table.
There were quite a few people inside. Several gambling tables were set up in the center of the hall, surrounded by people. In the corner, there were a few quiet booths where some casual customers were drinking and chatting.
Su Qing looked around but didn't see Han Ce.
But he knew he didn't need to go looking for them. The right person would come to him.
"Find a seat."
The three of them sat down at an empty table near the bar.
The bartender was a bald, burly man with a towel draped over his shoulder, who swaggered over.
"What would you like to drink?"
Su Qing held up three fingers.
"Three Cokes."
The bartender stopped wiping the glass and glanced at Su Qing, as if to confirm whether the man was joking.
He then bent down, pulled a red glass bottle from under the bar, unscrewed the cap, and poured brown liquid into three glasses, which hissed and bubbled.
"Three silver coins."
Upon hearing the price, Wang Yao's eyes widened instantly.
"How many?"
"Three cups of cola and three silver coins? Why don't you just rob someone?"
The bartender took the towel off his shoulder and slowly wiped the glasses.
"This is the price of Coca-Cola during the Age of Exploration."
"Drink it or don't, it's up to you."
Wang Yao wanted to say something, but Su Qing pressed down on his shoulder.
"Give it to him."
Wang Yao reluctantly pulled three silver coins from his pocket, about to hand them over.
A slender, fair hand reached out from the side, holding three silver coins between its fingertips, and gently placed them on the bar.
"My treat."
Her voice was languid, carrying a hint of sweet perfume.
Su Qing turned his head and saw a woman standing beside him, one hand resting on the edge of the bar.
She had long, deep red waves in her hair, slightly upturned eyes, and dark lipstick on her lips. She wore a black deep-V long dress, with the V-neck extending all the way to her lower abdomen.
She winked at Su Qing, a smile playing on her lips.
Su Qing knew it had begun.
His expression changed.
It wasn't the calm captain, but a young man who was flattered and overwhelmed after being approached by a beautiful woman on his first visit to a bar on the island.
He scratched the back of his head and grinned.
"Oh, thank you."
The woman laughed, a very happy laugh, a glint of shrewdness flashing in her eyes.
She took a half step forward, tapping her fingers on the bar counter rhythmically, seemingly unintentionally.
Her gaze swept over Wang Yao and Selena before returning to Su Qing's face.
"You all look unfamiliar. Is this your first time here to indulge in debauchery?"
Su Qing nodded, her expression sincere.
The woman tilted her head, her long red hair swaying with the movement.
"Want to play together?"
