Angel White is on patrol duty.

When she returned to Bhikkhu, she quickly realized that something was wrong.

As a new generation of angels, the pursuit of justice is ingrained in my very bones.

Upon noticing something amiss, she immediately went to investigate and uploaded her findings to the Sacred Treasury of Knowledge.

After breaking through the atmosphere of Bhikkhu Star, Angel White was stunned.

"……this……"

While the original Bhikkhu Star wasn't exactly a top-tier civilization, it was certainly not inferior.

At least no one goes hungry; the entire planet can be described as prosperous.

When she came to see me a few years ago, everything was normal.

But now...

Looking at the ravaged land, it seemed as if the entire civilization had been completely destroyed, as if it had been eroded by something.

Angel White opened her Eyes of Insight, wanting to find out what changes had occurred that had caused things to change like this in just a few years.

She was in charge of the Rosso system, where Biqiu Star is located, and never detected any signs of a powerful civilization invading during her patrols.

Why did Bhikkhu Star become like this?

Civil war?

Even after the Eye of Insight finished its investigation, Angel White's brows remained furrowed.

Because the Eye of Insight could not detect anything, it could only see an extremely blurry image.

It seems that the entire Bhikkhu civilization... is fighting against one person.

But how is that possible?

Although Biqiu Xing's strength is not top-tier, he is by no means weak.

One person against an entire civilization

Aside from someone like her own queen, Angel White really couldn't think of anyone else who could do that.

Since the Eye of Insight couldn't find any results, it's highly likely that someone has tampered with the Dark Dimension.

Angel Bai flapped its wings and slowly flew towards the main city of Biqiu Star.

Since we can't get to the Dark Dimension, let's first look for any surviving Bhikkhu aliens.

Bhikkhu is a civilization that has sought the protection of angels. To take action against Bhikkhu is to openly challenge the angelic civilization.

After reporting the situation, Angel White began a thorough search through the devastated ruins.

Meanwhile, inside the royal city...

The old man who had sent Shi Yi knelt on the ground, looking at his right hand and legs, which had been eroded to the point of being like withered bones, his eyes filled with regret.

His body trembled uncontrollably.

"It was me...it was all me...I led the Bhikkhu civilization to its destruction...I am a sinner..."

Opposite him stood a figure with eyes radiating a scarlet light.

"Huh?" Varus paused suddenly as he was about to draw his bow.

He looked up at the sky not far away, and a figure was flying towards him.

"Oh? There were still some who slipped through the net."

Upon hearing this, the old man followed Verus's gaze.

The pure white angel wings stood out starkly against the gray sky.

"It's... an angel..." The old man's lips moved, the outline of those pure white wings reflected in his cloudy eyes.

Withered fingers dug into cracks in the ground, oblivious to the fingernails lifting up.

He wanted to shout, to warn the approaching angel to run away, but only a muffled sob rose in his throat.

He had no strength left.

His legs were ruined, his right hand was ruined, and even his vocal cords suffered irreversible damage from the corrosive energy that spread during Verus's second molt.

The only thing he could still move was his eyes, the eyes that had watched his civilization go from prosperity to extinction.

Varus withdrew his gaze and slowly turned around.

Through the smoke and dust billowing from the ruins of the royal city, the scarlet eyes captured the flying figure in its entirety.

"Angels?" Varus's voice was icy cold. "I don't really like such 'beautiful' creatures."

As he spoke, he raised his hand, aiming his longbow at the white angel in the sky.

Crimson energy was frantically gathering on the bowstring.

The old man kneeling on the ground tried desperately to shout, but could only manage broken, breathy sounds from his throat:

"Escape...hah...cough cough..."

The angel Bai, flying towards them, was too far away to see clearly; he could only vaguely make out two figures.

One was tall, the other short. Her eyes lit up; she had finally seen people.

She increased the speed of her wing flapping, but the next second, she realized something was wrong.

Varus's lips curled up slightly.

The next second, his finger loosened.

A crimson arrow of light was released from the bow and shot straight toward Angel White at extremely high speed.

Angel Bai, who was a little closer, finally saw it clearly.

A dark red arrow of light had already locked onto her.

Her pupils contracted sharply, and she instinctively tried to dodge, but the light arrow was simply too fast.

The light arrow hit.

Angel Bai's left wing was pierced at the base, and the crimson energy exploded the moment it penetrated, tearing a hideous gash in her left wing.

She lost her balance in mid-air and spun and fell like a bird with a broken wing.

It crashed through the dome of a half-collapsed building on the edge of the royal city ruins, then smashed through two floors, before finally falling heavily into the pile of rubble.

The flaming sword flew out of her hand and plunged into the ground three meters in front of her. The flames on the sword struggled and flickered twice before extinguishing themselves unwillingly.

pain.

My whole body aches.

Angel White gritted her teeth and propped herself up, her left arm almost powerless, her left wing drooping limply behind her, its pure white feathers stained a shocking dark red with blood.

She coughed up a mouthful of bloody saliva, reached for the flaming sword, and just as her fingertips touched the hilt, a shadow fell over her head.

Verus stood before her, looking down at the angel lying in the rubble.

"Oops, you missed." Varus's voice carried a hint of mockery.

But what level is his archery skill?

Did it really miss?

He was simply enjoying the feeling of "hunting".

Angel White gripped the hilt of the Flaming Sword and struggled to her feet.

With every movement, a tearing pain shot through her left shoulder, but she still stood up straight and held the sword horizontally in front of her.

The instant Angel White saw Varus's appearance, one word flashed through her mind—

"demon!"

"A demon?" Varus raised an eyebrow.

He had heard this title many times before.

As he unleashed his fury and sought revenge on the planet, many of those who died by his arrows cried out to him in this way.

"I'm not a demon," he laughed.

Angel White did not believe him and continued to watch him warily.

Instead of rushing forward rashly, she first transmitted her injuries and the other party's image back to the sacred treasury of knowledge.

She could sense the dangerous aura emanating from the other person.

Angel White felt that he might perish here today.

His right hand, gripping the sword hilt, trembled slightly.
