The next morning, the three looked at Hughes, who was yawning incessantly, and exchanged bewildered glances.

"Elfman, wasn't it your turn to keep watch last night?" Mira couldn't help but suspect that it was Hughes who kept watch last night.

"Yes! I greeted you all this morning!"

Lisanna: (눈_눈)

Hughes glared back: "You brat, what are you looking at? It's normal for an eighteen-year-old to have trouble sleeping at night!"

"Alright, stop fooling around, Gray Grid Town is just ahead, let's go in!" Mira said.

In just two days, Hughes's image in her mind plummeted; Elfman was sometimes even more mature than him.

......

Greygate Town was the first town they arrived at after leaving the mountains. With Elfman and Mira leading the way, the four of them did not get lost and arrived smoothly at noon the next day.

The noise and commotion made Hughes feel as if he had returned to the real world, but the people in this other world were so rude, always looking at him with disdain and strange eyes.

So what if I'm shirtless? It's not like I'm not wearing pants!

Does he not want to wear it? What is he supposed to do if he has no clothes?

"Let's go find a place to buy some clothes, then we'll find a hotel to wash up, have a good meal, and rest before we set off!"

Hughes patted the bag on his body, looking arrogant and as if he didn't care about money.

He counted it; the villagers of Mira village gave him a total of 10 J.

What does that mean? In Magnolia, a bustling town, the monthly rent was only 7 J a few years later!

Elfman stood next to Hughes, tugged at his pants, and hesitated to speak.

Hughes knew what he was worried about, but this was something Mira had to go through. He reached out and patted the back of his head: "Don't try to save money for your brother Hughes. Let's go to an expensive place."

He didn't think that people in those high-end places were intelligent; it was simply because there were fewer people there, so Mira wouldn't feel too much pressure.

But the reality seems to be a little different...

"Sir, this is a high-class place, begging is not allowed." The security guard politely turned Hughes and his group away from the door.

A flame rose from Hughes's palm, as he intended to demonstrate his identity as a mage.

"Sir, even mages are not allowed to go in and beg!"

"Don't tell me there have been any instances of mages going inside to beg!"

The security guard smiled and nodded repeatedly.

Hughes: (°Д°≡°Д°)

Which mage is so tasteless? They could just join any guild and earn more than that.

Hughes left with Mira and the others, cursing as he went.

……

A high-end hotel...

"Sir, our hotel caters to distinguished guests!"

"I've got money, add more!" Hughes, furious, poured out a whole bundle of money.

"Give me two of the best rooms!"

The receptionist stared at the thick pile of magic coins, thinking of her deceased father who had raised her with these 50J and 100J coins.

As she grew up, she never saw such small denomination magic coins again!

She sighed silently and put the magic coins back into the package that Hughes had placed on the table.

The receptionist felt even more sorry for Hughes as she ran her fingers over the package that Hughes had accidentally burned, and then glanced at Hughes's naked upper body.

How long would he have to beg to save up that much money?!

"Sir, begging is not easy. It's not worth wasting so much money just for a moment of pride."

"I will never book a hotel room for you. It would be harming you, and my conscience won't allow me to do it."

"Security! Security! Get this gentleman out of here!!"

Standing outside the luxury hotel, Hughes hung his head, his hands tightly gripping the bag the receptionist had helped him pack.

"Why do you think that is?"

"Brother Hughes, I've always been curious, where did you find such small denominations of money?" Lisanna, standing in front of Hughes, asked curiously, her kind eyes irritating Hughes.

"Yes, Hughes, when I used to go up the mountain to chop firewood, I would sort the wood and sell it to the villagers, but they would never give me such a small amount of money!"

Elfman's words were like a knife piercing Hughes's heart.

......

"Honey, look! This beggar actually has the guts to have three children. Can he even raise them all?"

"Are you blind? Can't you see they've all grown up?" With that, the woman passing by grabbed her husband's ear, her face showing displeasure.

"Even a beggar can raise three children, but you can't even support me alone. How can you be so useless?!"

"But, honey, their hair is different..."

"Honey, you mean...?"

"Oh dear, honey, I feel like all sorts of terrible scenarios are popping into my head..."

.......

A couple passing by on the street were whispering very loudly, causing Mira and her two siblings to lower their heads in unison...

"Let's go! We shouldn't be here... we should be under the car... no, I mean let's find another hotel." The four of them walked forward with their heads down, their destination being a dilapidated hotel they had glimpsed as they passed by.

"I really am eighteen years old!!"

"Ah, yes, yes, Mirago, you're eighteen!"

"Lisanna, you're sleeping on the floor tonight!"

"Hughes, I know I was wrong, sob sob..."

The owner of the run-down hotel did not look down on the four of them because of Hughes, and treated them very warmly. Hughes therefore booked two rooms.

He shared a room with Elfman, and Mira shared a room with Lisanna; the total cost was 5000 J.

After tidying up a bit, the four of them went out onto the street again. Hughes wanted to treat them to a meal and also find himself some new clothes.

Being naked all the time isn't a good thing... He's not some perverted guy who uses ice-making magic.

Although Mira had been comforted by Hughes and was no longer as withdrawn as before, the large number of people on the street still frightened her so much that she buried herself deep in her cloak. She was so nervous that she didn't utter a word after entering Greygate Town and just blindly followed behind the three of them.

Hughes crossed his arms behind his head, and despite being shirtless, he seemed more at ease than anyone else.

"Let's go with this one!" Hughes said, glancing at a rather ordinary-looking clothing store not far ahead.

An ordinary little thing that should have gone smoothly became different when a strong wind picked up at the street corner.

Mira's loose, thick cloak was now riddled with holes because it had been damaged by Hughes before.

A strong wind blew Mira's cloak, inadvertently revealing her devilish arm.

The streets were crowded, and many people saw it; chaos, discussion, and accusations ensued.

"It's a demon! A demon has appeared in town!"

"You damned demon, get out of our town!!"

.......

Their language was so vulgar and their attitude so offensive that it seemed as if Mira had truly committed an unforgivable crime in this town.

Just like the insults they had suffered in the village in the past, the three siblings unconsciously lowered their heads and pursed their lips.

Mira, in particular, found her legs moving involuntarily, wanting to escape this place as quickly as possible.

Hughes sighed deeply. The prosperity of Gray Town made him overestimate these people. There were clearly many mages in this world, so why were these people still so ignorant?
