Spire Game: My cards are all forbidden divine skills

Chapter 46 New Card: Greatsword Transformation

Hide yourself well, then look out carefully.

Chen Mo thought he could find the person who made the move, and according to his guess, it was probably the corrupt cultist. But he didn't see the corrupt cultist. Instead, he saw another heavenly fire fall from the sky and strike a short distance away.

Flames shot into the sky, and explosions roared.

Chen Mo was somewhat shocked; judging by its destructive power alone, the damage was definitely above 40.

Can it be released continuously?

If those corrupt cultists have such strength, why would they need to resort to sneak attacks?

If you attack head-on, you can blast someone to smithereens.

No, it doesn't seem like that corrupt cultist. Chen Mo suddenly thought of another powerful being.

The boss monster of this floor is Nine-Fire Undead!

How could it suddenly attack, and with such precision, right around here?

Chen Mo peeked out slightly to search for the figure of the Nine Fire Soul.

From afar, it could only see a blurry "flaming wheel" at the edge of its vision.

It resembled a burning wheel that released a burst of heavenly fire before vanishing without a trace.

Is this it?

Chen Mo slowly took out his notebook and carefully examined the illustrations of the boss monster on this floor.

Wait a minute, the illustration in the encyclopedia doesn't match what he remembers!

The illustration clearly states "Six-Fire Soul," so where did the extra three fires come from?

Chen Mo suddenly remembered that the name Nine Fire Souls seemed to have been given to him by the White-haired Rat.

Was the white-haired mouse wrong?

Or is it that names are not important?

Chen Mo wasn't sure what the specifics were, but all he knew was that the boss monsters were very difficult to deal with, and it was really hard to fight them without some special methods.

Even the Hundred-Eyed Nest on the first floor, which triggered a strange tide, almost didn't survive.

Judging from just that one move, the Nine-Fire Soul on the second floor felt he might not be able to withstand it.

If it deals 50 damage at once, then just two hits will immediately reduce his health to almost zero.

The boss monster has more than just this one skill. Most importantly, it's a ranged attack, rendering his counterattack card useless.

Are we going to use Bloodthirst Slash to trade blood with the boss again?

If they're struggling so much against an elite monster like the Skeleton Greatsword Knight, they're probably not up to the task of dealing with a boss monster.

Chen Mo was pondering what to do. Should he also summon another strange tide? It seemed like going there would only mean getting burned by heavenly fire.

Headache!

As Chen Mo pondered this, he retreated further in. Regardless, he needed to return to the statue to rest first. Once he was fully healed, he could then devise a plan to deal with the boss monster.

But after taking only two steps, ripples began to appear on the walls inside the cave.

Chen Mo raised his sword and shield, ready to attack, when a white-haired rat emerged from them.

"Ah, great Card Master, you're not dead!"

The moment the white-haired rat saw Chen Mo, it immediately retreated into the cave, but after taking two steps back, it seemed as if it had been burned by fire, and with a shriek, it ran back out of the cave.

Chen Mo watched him run around comically and kept a distance from him to avoid being robbed.

The white-haired rat stopped about fifteen steps away from Chen Mo, still looking timid, and kept rubbing its hands together.

"Great Card Master, I just witnessed the Nine-Fire Wraith's attack. Did you fight it? Were you able to kill it?"

The white-haired mouse's tone was filled with anticipation.

Chen Mo calmly replied, "No, I was just fighting the Skeleton Greatsword Knight. The Nine-Fire Undead is temporarily out of the question!"

"Ah? So you killed the Greatsword Knight first? That's great, he's finally found some peace. Just one more step, just a little more..."

The white-haired rat sounded somewhat agitated, and Chen Mo felt he was about to cry again.

Is this a "water rat"?

"What are you talking about?"

Chen Mo frowned slightly. What did "partial rest" mean? It sounded very problematic.

The white-haired rat did not answer Chen Mo's question. Instead, he quickly said, "Nine-Fire Wraith is very powerful. If you are not confident of victory, you must go to the Corrupted Chapel first and use the Golden Cup to obtain the Corrupted Water to pour on the Nine-Fire Wraith. This will seal its strongest skill, Heavenly Annihilation Fire."

Chen Mo's eyes lit up slightly; he really hadn't expected the white-haired rat to come and deliver a strategy guide to him.

"The corrupt chapel? You mean the one up there?"

Chen Mo hoped the white-haired rat wouldn't tell him it was the one on the cliff top, because he really couldn't climb up there.

The white-haired rat shook its head repeatedly: "No, please go forward. After passing through the Pit of Death, you will find the Nine-Fire Souls, the Weeping Land. Below the Pit of Death, there is a hidden door. Entering it leads to the Corrupted Chapel, where you can find the Corrupting Water. However, please do not use anything else to collect it, as it will corrupt you. Please use the Golden Cup."

Chen Mo nodded in understanding, suddenly recalling the image of the white-haired rat stealing the golden cup.

It seems the white-haired rat's intention was to use the golden cup to obtain the corrupting water.

As the two were talking, the shrieking of skeletons rang out again from not far away, followed by a squad of skeletons striding towards them from the horizon.

The white-haired rat immediately prepared to flee upon seeing the skeleton.

Chen Mo still had many questions he wanted to ask him.

"Wait, what's the connection between this corrupt chapel and the corrupt believers you mentioned?"

As the white-haired rat burrowed into the wall, it concluded, "The corrupt cultists are scum who have taken over the church; they are more despicable than monsters."

After saying that, the white-haired rat scurried into the wall and disappeared completely.

Chen Mo frowned. "The scum who's taken over the church?"

In other words, the churches were not built by those corrupt believers, which seems to raise a big question.

Chen Mo didn't continue thinking about it. These situations weren't particularly important to him. He decided to focus on getting past this point first.

That Nine-Fire Wraith didn't seem like a good-natured leader at all. If we didn't kill it, leaving it on the second floor would only cause us sleepless nights and no one knew when heavenly fire would descend upon our heads.

He needs to go back and carefully review his notes to see if his senior has left him any useful tips.

Surely the seniors didn't just recklessly get through it too!

Well, what's done is done. Let's eat first.

By the way, what did the Skeleton Greatsword Knight drop?

Chen Mo then remembered that he seemed to have found a new card and a large amount of gold coins.

The card is still blue; Chen Mo hopes it will be of some use.

He doesn't lack ability points right now, what he lacks are powerful cards, especially those that increase damage.

If it's a defensive card, it should be able to withstand the Heavenly Fire.

Heh, never mind. I reckon blocking the Heavenly Fire is unlikely; blue cards aren't that powerful.

Chen Mo took out the new card and looked at the picture on the front, which was a broken giant sword.

Wait, isn't this the sword of that skeleton greatsword knight?

What happened? He blew the opponent's sword out of its socket?

Chen Mo's eyes lit up as he quickly flipped the page to look at it again.

Great card!

Greatsword Transformation: Increases weapon damage by 10 on the next attack and grants armor penetration.

A smile appeared on Chen Mo's lips; in his eyes, any card with armor-piercing effects was a good card.

The +10 weapon damage bonus is very powerful, and it doesn't cost any health, which makes Chen Mo even happier.

Powerful output card, satisfied!
