Spire Game: My cards are all forbidden divine skills

Chapter 38 The Silver Statue: The Loving Mother

Even when I raise my shield to block, I still lose health.

The two arrows were deflected by the shield, but Chen Mo still saw his health points drop by 4 on the panel.

In other words, each arrow deals ten points of damage.

I heard another creaking sound, clearly indicating that other mechanisms had been activated.

Chen Mo leaped forward almost instinctively, and the next moment a cluster of sharp spikes emerged from the ground behind him. Had he been half a second later, they would have pierced him with countless transparent holes.

That wasn't all. A sound came from above, and Chen Mo immediately raised his shield and ran forward.

He had only taken two steps when a massive guillotine, like a wall, crashed down behind him, causing cold sweat to pour down Chen Mo's forehead.

He quickly pressed himself against the wall and continued forward, only to be shocked to find that he was in a dead end.

There was no road ahead, only a completely sealed stone wall.

I pounded on it a few times with the shield, but there were no hidden walls.

He even poked the ground hard with his sword, but still found nothing.

Been tricked?

Chen Mo had a bad feeling. Had he really been tricked to death by a rat?

No, something's definitely wrong.

As Chen Mo was pondering, sharp spikes suddenly appeared on both walls, which then slowly closed together.

Desperate situation!

Chen Mo forced himself to calm down and carefully observed his surroundings.

Suddenly, Chen Mo saw a silver light on the guillotine behind him.

Upon closer inspection, Chen Mo finally recognized that the crookedly written characters actually read: "Upwards!"

Chen Mo immediately realized what was happening and ran to the closing left wall, quickly climbing up using the spikes as footholds.

As they approached the highest point, Chen Mo noticed that there were indeed gaps on the guillotine.

It's not big, but big enough for one person to crawl on.

Taking a deep breath, Chen Mo leaped over and crouched in the gap above the guillotine, turning his head to watch the wall behind him slowly close, leaving no gaps. Looking left and right, he found the silver arrow pointing to the wall again.

Chen Mo sheathed his sword and shield and slowly crawled forward. Following the silver arrows and constantly adjusting his direction, he finally arrived at an unfamiliar place after about half an hour.

He rolled over and landed, seemingly on water.

Chen Mo groped around on the walls and suddenly found a skull. He took it off and slammed it against the wall, setting it on fire. Flames appeared, and when he put it back, the flames began to "flow" along the wall until they completely illuminated the surroundings, allowing Chen Mo to see his surroundings clearly.

In the puddles, there is a stone pillar, and on top of the pillar is a small statue of a deity, about half a person's height.

The statue is silver and appears to be a woman wearing a long robe, with her hands clasped together in a kneeling posture.

The stone pillar has inscriptions:

May the great and loving Mother bless all living beings with peace and joy!

Chen Mo immediately realized that this was the Silver God Statue!

With a sigh of relief, I realized that since we had come this far, there shouldn't be any more trouble. I could finally relax for a moment.

The water here is pretty good. I dipped my finger in it and confirmed it was drinkable, so I'll fill it up first.

Chen Mo felt that he should take more supplies, as the water stored in just a pot and tattered clothes was really not enough.

Especially since he might need to cook dumplings and eat instant noodles in the future, he'll be even more strapped for cash.

Chen Mo first went to the Silver God statue, opened his notebook, and confirmed that his memory was correct. He would think about these things later.

The silver statue can be exchanged for gold coins using cards, and the notebook clearly tells him not to miss it if he comes across it.

Although Chen Mo didn't feel he was particularly short of gold coins, since the notes said so, there must be a reason for it.

If you come across it, you have to give it a try!

Thinking this, Chen Mo took out his extra white cards.

One is "hardening", the other is "poisoning".

Without much thought, Harden is still somewhat useful. When there are many small monsters, one Harden card can help him withstand a lot of damage. If it can be upgraded to become more powerful in the future, then it will not be a useless card.

The poison effect is really useless for now. Chen Mo doesn't have a single poison card on hand, so keeping this thing is just a waste of inventory space. The only thing worth mentioning is that this card seems to have some value, and it might be worth trading with someone later. Otherwise, Chen Mo would have used it up long ago.

Alright, let's just go with the poison. It's not a big deal if it's wasted. Let's see how many gold coins we can get!

Slowly, Chen Mo placed the card on the stone pillar.

After waiting a short while, I saw the faint silver light on the silver statue converge towards the card.

Little by little, the card began to disappear, not burning, nor decomposing, but vanishing as if some force were erasing it out of thin air with an eraser.

Then gold coins began to gush out from the silver statue, spraying out like water droplets.

Chen Mo hurried to catch it, afraid that if he was too slow, the gold coin would fall into the water and be lost.

The silver statue sprayed out dozens of gold coins. Chen Mo never imagined that a white card placed in front of the silver statue could be exchanged for so many gold coins.

After receiving them, I counted them and was surprised to find there were as many as fifty.

Exchanging for just gold coins is nothing special, but exchanging for this many gold coins is a completely different story.

Blood earned!

Not only that, after the gold coins were sprayed out, the silver light also drifted towards Chen Mo, circled around him, and then disappeared into his body.

Chen Mo didn't know what was going on. Could it be that he could get some more money?

After waiting for a while but still not seeing anything, Chen Mo opened the panel again.

Ok?

Only then did Chen Mo understand what had changed.

There's something new in the trading market!

New items added: regular food and regular supplies.

Regular food: A random serving of food, costing ten gold coins.

General supplies: One random supply, priced at 20 gold coins.

Chen Mo looked excited; the items in the Emotional Exchange Mall had increased at the Silver God Statue.

Although the price has risen to ten and twenty gold coins, you can definitely get better items.

smoke!

You absolutely have to try!

Without hesitation, Chen Mo immediately picked out a regular food item to check out.

After spending ten gold coins, Chen Mo suddenly found a plate of food in his hand, a fragrant dish.

drumstick!

Delicious braised chicken drumsticks!

Chen Mo's hand trembled, and he almost threw the chicken leg into the water.

He gripped it tightly, his eyelids trembling, his expression somewhat out of control. He was even more excited than when he killed the boss monster with his last bit of health.

meat!

He finally got to win something! A big chicken leg, smells delicious!

Chen Mo quickly stuffed it into his mouth, took a bite, and felt completely relaxed.

Delicious, it feels so good to eat meat.

It felt as if he had been standing all these days, until this moment when he finally sat down.

Comfortable!

After taking a couple more bites, Chen Mo continued browsing the trading mall with a big smile on his face.

How about spending another 20 gold coins to try and get some supplies? Maybe I'll get a phone, and maybe it'll even be fully charged and have games on it...

With a bit more courage, Chen Mo checked his gold coin count and figured that drawing once wouldn't be a problem and wouldn't affect anything.

Even if he encounters that mysterious merchant again, he can manage with the remaining hundred or so gold coins.
