The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 65 One-on-One Against a Three-Headed Dog

The bottled [bitter black salt] was now in Red's hands. Although it looked like black coal crystals, bitter black salt was actually a flammable and explosive crystal. If detonated correctly, bitter black salt could cause damage no less than demolition explosives.

"And then there's my wand... I'll take all three with me."

Although he was not in the Silent Bookstore, his soul essence could basically only drive the wand in ghost form, but it was always good to have more combat power. He had not yet had a full battle with the Dark Lord Voldemort. The last raid in the Forbidden Forest could only be described as a greeting, and there was no way to gather any information about the other party.

Red wiped his mouth. He hadn't eaten so much food in a long time, so he needed to sit for a while to digest before nightfall and flip through other books to see if there was anything he could use. Although he had read quite a few books to choose suitable ones for Harry, the knowledge of great arts contained in those books was too basic. Perhaps it was time for him to start understanding more in-depth knowledge.

So Red whiled away the time in his dormitory until nearly midnight. He gently pushed open the door, and the huge common room of Hufflepuff was empty. Even the fireplace was out. In the quiet darkness, Red lightly carried his bag and left the Hufflepuff dormitory, heading towards the room on the fourth floor that Dumbledore had mentioned.

Soon he saw several Gryffindors waiting for him outside the room. To his surprise, in addition to the trio, there was another person standing beside them.

"Nawi?"

"Yes, Neville said he insisted on coming with us... He said he also wanted to help Harry."

Hermione explained that Neville, for some reason, had guessed that they would be making their move that night, and had changed his clothes early to go with them, wanting to repay Harry for his help. Hermione, Ron, and Harry had no choice but to bring him along.

"Alright then, let's hope this operation succeeds..." Reid didn't really care. After all, if Cerberus were to get serious, Harry could kill it all by himself. However, they wouldn't choose this method to protect Hagrid's pet. They could just put it to sleep with music. The rest would have to wait until they entered the trapdoor and then improvise.

The enormous Luwei lay behind the door, its breath alone ruffling Hermione's long hair. Its massive body pressed against the trapdoor even as it slept, its huge paws resting on it.

"Wait... someone's already gone before us!! We have to get in right away, Harry, Red, could you please help us move those claws away!!"

Hermione saw the harp playing automatically beside her and the three-headed dog, Fulvi, already fast asleep, and knew something was terribly wrong. She immediately called to her companions; if Voldemort got the Philosopher's Stone first, everything would be over.

Unlike Ron, who would ask questions first, Red and Harry usually preferred to ask why while working, since sometimes it was necessary to race against time. So the two of them moved Fluffy's claws and exposed the trapdoor.

"Alright... let's hurry up and go..."

Hermione realized what was happening. The harp beside her had stopped playing for some reason, and Fluffy's eyes were fixed on them. After a second, it seemed to understand what was happening, and began to roar. Then it opened its blood-red maw and tried to attack the few young wizards who had broken in.

"Jump!!!" Seeing this, Hermione couldn't care less about anything else and hurriedly jumped into the small trapdoor. Ron and Harry didn't care about anything else either and jumped into the trapdoor directly. But just then, Fluffy's claws blocked the trapdoor, and he glared fiercely at Neville and Red, who were still in the room.

"Tsk, I haven't even realized it yet... How about we make a deal? You go to sleep, I'm not going down... I'll wait for someone here."

Realizing he had failed in his duty, Luwei ignored Red's words and opened his mouth to bite Red, but he didn't know that his mouth was being held open by something and he couldn't close it at all.

"Alright, alright, don't be so temperamental. Our actions were approved by Hogwarts... Of course, if you want to play, I can play with you. Neville... sit over there, I want to play with this big dog."

Red pulled out his wand, and the petrification he released without a wand was indeed not very effective, only making Fluffy unable to close his mouth for a short time.

Neville only then realized what had happened. The enormous three-headed dog had momentarily stopped him from thinking, so much so that he didn't react until Red spoke.

"good!"

Without a word, he ran behind the harp. He really wanted to help, but Red had made it clear that he didn't think he could avoid causing trouble. Neville was very self-aware; he knew he couldn't at least hold them back.

As for Red, he drew his wand, and the walnut wand began to throb with joy, its immense magical power surging as it danced.

"Come on, let me see what makes Cerberus so powerful."

Red smiled, and suddenly unleashed his Transfiguration, transforming the shattered trapdoor fragments into various weapons, which he then used to "play" with Lou Williams.

"What...what is this?!" Ron and Harry landed on a huge, soft 'blanket', but before Ron could even express his relief, the 'blanket' began to extend its branches and firmly bind several of the little wizards who had fallen down.

"Harry!!! Are you alright?" Hermione asked, quickly realizing what the 'tentacles' binding her were, and began to locate her companion.

Harry's voice came from below. He called out that he was safe. For some reason, the huge blanket didn't catch him. Instead, it seemed to have seen some kind of monstrous beast and abruptly broke apart, sending him crashing to the ground. Fortunately, his body, after training and studying, was still able to withstand a fall from this height.

"I'm fine, can you all get down by yourselves?"

"Ron, this is a devil's web... Don't move! The more you move, the tighter they'll wrap around you. That's how they identify and capture their prey! We learned about it in botany class!"

Hermione spoke quickly, fearing that if she was any later, the Devil's Web would drag the struggling Ron deeper into the abyss.
