The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 6 Harry Potter will become an apprentice

Long after Professor McGonagall left, Red quietly put away the gold pound in his hand, intending to give it to the nun later so that the children could have more warm clothes. Although he didn't know how many pennies this so-called gold pound was worth, judging from the material alone, it was definitely a windfall for the orphanage.

"It's still too much..."

Red looked at his hands and chuckled to himself. His response to this unexpected incident was utterly atrocious. If the other party had been malicious, he and the orphanage would probably be buried here...

But after meeting Professor McGonagall, he realized that he could no longer endure this, nor could he bear all the humanitarian tragedies happening here.

It was a subtle outburst; after gaining power, one could no longer tolerate and suppress the outburst of one's emotions.

Then, that heavy, stagnant magic suddenly erupted, silently and without fluctuation enveloping the entire orphanage.

"Is this what Professor McGonagall was talking about... the Obscurus? No, I can take back my magic at any time, and I can even..."

Red closed his eyes, then opened them. As the [Soul Matter] became active, the viscous, almost tangible magic around him instantly seemed to have found its master and cheered. At Red's strong will, they immediately quieted down again, but even after the [Soul Matter] was mobilized, they still stirred up a little.

[Soul Essence: Eloquence]: Eloquence and understanding. A two-way gateway. [One of the nine soul essences of humanity.] (Aspect: 2 Enlightenment, 1 Forging)

[Revelation]: Revelation does not permit closure or isolation. It joyfully pulls us out of the shelter of ignorance. [Revelation is the principle of opening and dismantling.]

[Forging]: I once saw a quote that said, "Fire is the harsh winter, yet it brings warmth. Fire is the warm spring, yet it consumes everything." [Forging is the principle of transformation and destruction.]

The magic seemed to have a goal of its own, and all the doors of the orphanage, whether locked or not, were opened instantly, as if a gust of wind had blown them all open.

"Is this... magic? After I sensed it, it became my weapon?"

Red's sense of magic was very strange. He even felt that these magical forces were very intimate with him, as if they would obey his commands at any time. Although sometimes they seemed a little slow and could not understand Red's commands, only with the guidance of [Soul Essence] could they perfectly achieve the effect that Red wanted.

"Quiet... We can't attract any more attention. That professor won't like us doing anything too unexpected. Besides, she's practically a sugar daddy for the orphanage. I can't afford to offend someone so rich. They can feed us with a wave of their hand."

Red's words calmed the surging magic once again, leaving a group of bewildered adults and children wondering why it seemed as if all the doors had suddenly been opened.

"Speaking of which, she didn't say how to get to Hogwarts, did she? Could someone just be forgetful...? Never mind, before I get here, I should consider the renovations of the Silent Bookstore. This magic system, completely different from [Soul Matter], is indeed very powerful..."

Reid returned to his room, and after confirming with the surrounding magic that no one was watching, he touched the key again and returned to the Silent Bookstore.

"Cough cough cough... What's wrong with me?"

Harry Potter was surprised to see the familiar fireplace and bed, the bed he had prepared to lie down in. The bed was even made up. But he never expected that he would return to the familiar No. 4 Privet Drive that night. Because he had been missing for a whole day, he was put in solitary confinement by his aunt and uncle. Logically, he should still be locked in that small, dark room.

But once he heard the invitation and responded, he immediately returned.

"Okay, it seems I've basically figured out one thing... how to get back to the Silent Bookstore and how to invite you in as a guest..."

Red's voice excited Harry.

"I knew it... I'm not dreaming, I'm really not dreaming, right?!"

"Of course, Mr. Harry, we are now in 1936, the shitty era where even pennies are base-6, and the history of this era may be a little different from the history you can learn over there."

Red nodded, picked up the key, inserted it into the lock of the Silent House door, and led Harry into the enormous castle.

[Housing Authority Gate]: The silent housing estate's walls stand tall before me. I'd heard it was abandoned after a fire—but there's no indication of such a thing happening here. The building undoubtedly needs repair, but it's in better condition than I feared. The inscription on the gate reads: "Books are immortal memory." (Key required to open)

"Our goal today is the first floor of this tower, a study, the starting point for everything we, or rather, everything I'm about to do. That wonderful desk can help me do so many things... Harry, let's get started."

[Night Watch Tower: First Floor]: The staircase leading to the upper rooms is blocked by debris, and the plaster on the walls is starting to peel off. I need someone to assist with cleaning and repairing this place. (Repair required: 2 [Casting] or 2 [Lamp])

"Harry, look at me."

Harry Potter listened to Red's words and met his eyes. For a moment, Harry even wondered if he had been blinded by the bright light. But after a brief discomfort, he suddenly had the same feeling as yesterday, the feeling that the whole world seemed to become clear. This time, he even felt his brain was working at high speed.

[Soul Essence: Clarity]: Vision, perception, and inspiration are all gifts of radiance. (Aspects: 2 Lamps, 1 Dome)

【Dome】: Gentle breeze, storm, echo, song; the complexity of mathematics, the principles of flight. The touch of laws is sometimes lighter than we imagine. [Balance, harmony, and necessity.]

[Harry Potter]: The child prophesied to become the savior of the world. (3 lamps, 1 heart, 1 dome) (Has undergone soul enhancement)

Unlike transferring the power of soul matter to Naya, Harry was clearly more receptive to this enhancement, and he almost immediately jumped up to begin the task Red had assigned him.

"Harry, I have a question...would you be willing to work as a farmhand at Silent Bookstore?"

"What do you mean?"

Harry, sitting in the soft chair, stared wide-eyed.

"I mean, would you be willing to become an apprentice at the Silent Bookstore, working for me while learning the great art from me?"
