The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts

Chapter 55 Melee Wizards and Magic Resistance

Malfoy felt as if he had encountered a monster, a real monster, one that was more terrifying than any troll than the boy in front of him who carried a long staff and wore glasses.

"You... what kind of monster are you?!" Malfoy asked, his voice trembling. He had never seen a human who could block a spell with his bare body. The Harry in front of him was definitely not human; he was a monster in the guise of a little wizard.

Harry looked down, his glasses reflecting the dim light from Hogwarts' foggy environment, making it impossible to see his eyes.

"Navie..."

Harry's sudden voice startled Neville, but he immediately realized that Harry was calling him, so he gripped his wand tightly.

"Don't be afraid, Neville... Harry is with you, so don't be afraid..."

Neville repeatedly encouraged himself internally; he didn't want to just stand behind Harry and be protected by him.

"Answer me!!! What kind of monster are you...?"

The pressure of silence was far greater than that of angry shouts or mockery. Malfoy stared intently at the figure moving forward through the swirling mist.

"Wait... why is there a thin mist?"

Malfoy suddenly remembered this, but as he was about to continue thinking about it, Harry had already raised the iron rod in front of him. The silent boy looked as if he really wanted to beat him to death on the spot, and swung it down on his head.

"Armor for protection!"

Malfoy almost remembered his wizard identity at the last minute. The protective charm he hastily used was not very effective, but it still bought him some time to create some distance.

"Navie... let's be together."

Harry spoke again, and Neville, without hesitation, ran to Harry's side, stood beside him, and looked at Malfoy.

"You monsters..."

Harry didn't respond, seemingly accepting the title of "Malfoy the Monster," and continued to precisely stab the young wizards' wand-holding hands with the iron rod. For the younger wizards, losing their wands essentially rendered them incapable of fighting.

"Hmm, the scars have good magic resistance. If there were more scars, they might be even more useful."

Red was recording Harry's demonstration and application of the "Commandment of the Scars" in the back, but he soon sensed that Slytherin students had appeared behind the rolling mist.

"Harry, someone's coming from over there..."

Harry nodded, and Malfoy, having clearly noticed the first and second-year students arriving later, simply spoke up loudly.

"Gryffindor students are fighting!!!"

The Slytherin students noticed Malfoy's shout almost immediately. Although they didn't quite understand why there seemed to be only two Gryffindors on the other side while the three Slytherins looked rather disheveled, they realized... it was a Gryffindor, their enemy.

"Harry?!"

Neville looked in alarm at the four or five Slytherins who had raised their wands. Harry had no chance of defeating so many people, so he wanted Harry to run first, since it didn't matter if he got beaten up.

"It's alright, Neville... Find a chance to ask for help... I'll handle things here."

Harry took another step, looking like a ghost in the thin mist. He was not afraid of this challenge; his scars and the hot blood flowing in his veins gave him the determination to fight.

He gripped his weapon tightly, and with his other hand he reached for his wand.

"If you can't win in close combat, I think you can start thinking about combining spells with melee attacks."

However, Harry was somewhat disappointed by the level of Slytherin's response.

"No pre-aiming, no blocking, no coordination. They all look like wooden stakes that could be breached at any moment. Didn't they learn how to fight in their second year?"

In the wizarding world, battles, though not common, are certainly not uncommon. This was Harry's understanding since enrolling. In fact, because of the history of the Noon World and the castle where the Silent Books were located that Red told him, he naturally regarded Hogwarts as a school that would teach students about fighting and war when the time was right.

However, the group of second-year and first-year Slytherin students seemed to be telling him that his guess was wrong.

"Obstacles and leg-locking curses must be avoided."

Harry shouldn't take these two spells from the second-year students head-on, because they weren't as hasty in casting the spells as the Malfoy trio. They had ample malice to anticipate and prepare for the spells, so if he took them head-on, even if the spells didn't have much effect, Harry's movements would inevitably be slowed down, and he would be overwhelmed by the spells' attack.

So Harry forcibly reversed his pace, even though it made his actions seem somewhat sluggish and strange, it was much better than being affected later.

"A wide grin can be directly blocked by the scars on my arm."

Harry assessed the situation; in fact, his brain was working at high speed. He wasn't facing a troll, but a group of young wizards. They weren't a unified group; each had their own thoughts and behavioral patterns. Therefore, he had to...

The stick struck Malfoy's wrist, and in an instant Malfoy cried out in pain, forced to drop his wand. Harry immediately gripped his iron rod and struck again, sweeping Malfoy aside. Then, he flicked the wand to the other side with the stick.

"Master!!!" Goyle shouted, raising his wand, but Harry raised his wand first and knocked it away.

"Disarm you!"

Harry's spell struck Goyle's wrist precisely; it was his talent, just as the man called "Zagali" had praised—his aiming and shooting skills seemed truly remarkable.

"......."

The Slytherins fell silent, completely overwhelmed by Harry's imposing presence. The only sounds in the corridor were Malfoy's painful breathing and Harry Potter's soft, almost inaudible footsteps.

"I miscalculated. I should have taught you [Scythe and Eclipse] first, since you're now a qualified warrior..."

Red calculated that the Slytherins had almost lost their will to fight after witnessing Harry's outrageous fighting prowess, but Harry did not give up on advancing.

His movements gradually became smoother under the influence of the [Discipline of Hammer and Anvil], as he honed his combat experience. His footwork also became smoother, as the [Discipline of Scars] provided him with the experience he needed most.

So when Neville returned to the corridor with the support of Ron, Hermione, and others, they saw a group of Slytherins lying on the ground groaning in pain, and Harry quietly looking at the moon.
