The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 30 [The Commandments of the Hammer and Anvil]
Hagrid was somewhat surprised. He hadn't expected Harry to bring a new friend, and even more unexpectedly, this little wizard named Red had managed to quiet Babbler down so easily.
"Good boy..." Red gently placed his hand on Tooth's head. The huge hound named Tooth obediently rubbed its head against Red's hand. Harry and Hermione were a little surprised by this. They knew that when Tooth saw them last time, it had eagerly pounced on Ron. But this time, it was so quiet in front of Red.
The Forbidden Forest was closer to nature than Red had imagined. In fact, the entire Hogwarts was closer to nature than Red had imagined. With its enormous trees, endless deep forests, and the occasional glimpse of magical creatures, the Forbidden Forest undoubtedly maintained a healthy ecosystem.
Red released his soul essence to probe directly. His current soul essence power was not enough to support him to fully explore these places, but he had a clear view of the shallow areas of the Forbidden Forest. The creatures called centaurs seemed to be very sensitive to this kind of exploration and spying. They looked around uneasily, as if they were on guard against potential enemies. Another kind of creature, the unicorn, fled directly to the deeper parts of the Forbidden Forest. The other magical creatures also either tried to hide on the spot or fled directly because of this strange spying.
"It seems the technique is still a bit too rough..."
Red released Tooth's head, and the latter immediately collapsed to the ground, panting, as if granted a pardon. However, Hagrid was completely unaware of this, as he was placing a plate of rock-skin cakes on his table.
"Come and try the rock skin cake, it's delicious."
Harry and Hermione shook their heads frantically. The last time they tried it, they almost broke their teeth. Rock crust cake really was as hard as stone, as the name suggests, and they didn't want to try that texture again.
"Thanks, I'll try it later..." Red took one of the pieces, weighed it in his hand, and decided to politely put it aside. This thing was much more useful as a shield or a cushion than as food.
He saw something posted on the wall next to him. Among a bunch of miscellaneous notes, Red spotted a piece of newspaper that had been cut out. It was about a theft. Gringotts, known as the safest bank in the wizarding world, had been robbed. Something had been stolen. Due to Gringotts' secrecy, they didn't even know what had been stolen; they only said that the Ministry of Magic was investigating the case.
So after leaving Hagrid's hut, Red and Harry talked about the case.
"Harry, have you asked Hagrid about Gringotts?"
"Oh, yes... Hagrid didn't really want to talk about that, so I didn't continue the conversation."
Harry scratched his head.
"I see. It seems Hagrid isn't just a simple forest ranger after all... He might actually be the richest person in all of Hogwarts."
"How could that be..." Hermione retorted instinctively. Hagrid's cottage and he himself did not look wealthy at all.
"In fact, if you were to sell the unicorn hair alone from those pieces of furniture, the gold pounds you would earn could probably pile up into a small mountain."
Harry sighed. He had come with the intention of observing, and only then did he realize just how wealthy Hagrid was. Unicorn hair, which would cost a lot of money to obtain as wand core material in the outside world, was used as furniture material by Hagrid.
"Really?"
Hermione swallowed hard. She found it hard to believe that Hagrid was actually the richest man in Hogwarts, like someone telling you that the street cleaner was actually a billionaire.
"It can't really be considered fake... Hermione, is there anything else you need to do?"
The three walked along the path to Hogwarts, and the little episode came to an end. In fact, nothing changed. Hermione still didn't realize where the cognitive gap between herself and the Gryffindor freshmen lay, nor did she notice her own attitude problem, while Harry and Red picked up different books and continued their studies.
"Is there another volume of The Chronicles of the Stars? Can I take a look at that book?" Harry asked, holding in his hands the second volume of The Chronicles of the Stars, which was completely different from the Stars recorded in the third volume. It could even be said to be the mortal enemy of the colonel recorded in the third volume.
The Book of the Stars, Volume Two: Written in Latin. A work written in the fourth century and translated into Latin in the fourteenth century, reprinted in the nineteenth century (author: Nathaniel Darcy-Evers the Tireless) (Mystery: 4 [Blade], Language: Latin) (Contains great artistic teachings: [The Commandments of the Hammer and Anvil])
[The Commandments of the Hammer and Anvil LV1]: The purification and union of self and essence; the hammer and anvil both shape and destroy doors, whether outside or within us. (Sexual nature: 2 blades, 1 forging)
That is a method of self-improvement that is completely different from the "Commandment of the Scars". The "Commandment of the Hammer and Anvil" emphasizes treating oneself as a piece of steel to be forged, which needs to be constantly purified and forged and then recast in order to achieve the highest greatness. Each forging is a tempering of oneself, just as each scar mentioned in the "Commandment of the Scars" is an accumulated experience.
The Hour of the Lionsmith, which this great art points to, is the same Hour that is in eternal conflict with the Colonel. They represent one aspect of war. Whenever the signs of war appear, the influence of the two Hours of the Blade will increase significantly, and the Named Ones and Immortals under their command will become even more powerful.
"Is this really a training method that a human could do? It's even more terrifying than creating scars..."
Harry muttered to himself, unable to comprehend why he would want to destroy his own body first and then reforge it to become stronger.
"So you're just learning the knowledge now, knowing how to do it, in case you need it someday, right?"
Reid flipped through his copy of "Night Wanderings, Volume One." He had already found a way to break the blockade, but he still needed some time to verify it.
"That makes sense... Perhaps I could try using it?"
"Before you try it, I recommend you go to bed early. If I remember correctly, you should have Quidditch practice tomorrow..." Red glanced at the clock, and Harry glanced at it too. Without saying a word, he prepared to go back to his dormitory for a good night's sleep. He didn't want to be late for practice the next day. You see, since joining the Quidditch team, his morning practice had been replaced by training. The reason was simple: the amount of training in Quidditch was no less than the amount of exercise in his morning practice.
