Shen Mengyao's eyes widened slightly.

Sixty seconds.

One minute.

A paper airplane folded by a little girl who is not yet four years old flew in the sky for one minute.

She glanced at Tingting's excited little face, then at Chen Hao tidying up the table in the corner of the screen.

He lowered his head, neatly stacked the papers, aligning them one by one, then put the scissors back in the drawer and the ruler back in the pen holder.

The movements were very light and slow, as if they were doing something very ordinary.

"Tingting, did your dad improve your folding method again?"

"Hmm! Dad taught me a new way to fold it tonight." Tingting said, gesturing as she did so, her little hands flipping in the air.

"The wing angle has been adjusted slightly higher, and the winglets are now folded more precisely."

I'll try again tomorrow; I'm sure I can fly farther and longer then.

Her tone was full of admiration.

"Mom, it's all thanks to Dad."

My dad knows everything, and I can learn anything he teaches me.

Shen Mengyao nodded.

Looking at her daughter's excited little face and the light in her eyes, the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up.

"Go Tingting! Do your best in the competition and try to win first place."

"I will definitely get first place!" Tingting clenched her little fist, raised it to her chest, and shook it vigorously.

"Mom, just wait and see my medal!"

Shen Mengyao smiled.

"Okay, Mom will wait."

Tingting chatted with her mother for a while longer.

She recounted the events of Wu Licheng and Yu Jingwen's visit to her home that day, saying that when they saw the paper airplane, their mouths were wide open, their eyes were wide open, and they looked completely incredulous.

She said that her father invited them to stay for lunch, and that they ate all the food he cooked, leaving the plates completely clean.

She spoke incoherently, switching between different topics, but every word she uttered was filled with excitement.

Shen Mengyao listened the whole time, occasionally responding with a single word.

Chen Hao checked the time, walked over to Tingting, and said:

"Tingting, it's time to take a shower and go to bed. You have practice tomorrow."

Tingting said to the phone screen:

"Mom, I'm going to take a bath and go to bed. I want to fold paper airplanes tomorrow."

Okay. Goodnight, Tingting.

Goodnight, Mom!

Tingting returned the phone to Chen Hao.

Chen Hao took the phone; Shen Mengyao was looking at him on the screen.

"Get some rest, and drive carefully on your way to Ningbo."

"Yes. I know."

The video call has ended.

The words "Call ended" popped up on the screen, and then I returned to the chat interface.

Chen Hao put his phone in his pocket and took Tingting to the bathroom to take a shower.

He adjusted the water temperature, tested it, and found it was neither too hot nor too cold.

Tingting took off her clothes and climbed into the bathtub.

Chen Hao helped her wash her hair. She tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and kept her mouth tightly shut, afraid that the shampoo would flow into her mouth.

After taking a shower, Chen Hao carried his daughter, wrapped in a bath towel, to her room.

Tingting's hair was still a little wet, so Chen Hao dried it with a towel and then helped her put on her pajamas.

The white pajamas were printed with several little rabbits, and the sleeves were a bit long, covering the palms of the hands.

Shen Xiaoting was holding the rabbit, her eyes half-open and half-closed.

She was really tired today. She had been folding paper airplanes all day and talking to her mother for so long. Her little face was full of sleepiness.

Chen Hao sat down on the edge of the bed and began to tell a story.

Today's story is about a paper airplane.

A little boy folded a paper airplane.

The paper airplane flew out of the window, over the city, over the river, over the mountains, and to the sea.

It met a seagull on the beach. The seagull asked it where it came from, and it said it came from a little boy's room.

The seagull asked, "You've flown so far, aren't you tired?" The paper airplane replied, "I'm not tired, because I'm carrying the little boy's dream."

The seagull smiled, carried the paper airplane across the sea, and landed in the hands of a little girl on the other side.

The little girl unfolded a paper airplane with the words "Hello, my name is Xiaoming, let's be friends" written on it.

As Shen Xiaoting listened, the corners of her mouth slowly turned up, and her eyes slowly closed.

She loosened her grip on the rabbit a little, and her breathing became even and long.

The little girl's face showed a peaceful and content expression, with a slight smile on her lips.

After telling the story, Chen Hao sat by the bed for a while.

He looked at his daughter's face to make sure she was fast asleep, breathing steadily, and showing no signs of being frightened.

He stood up quietly, turned off the rabbit lamp, and closed the door.

He went to the bathroom and took a quick shower.

Water poured down his head. He stood there with his eyes closed for a moment, mentally reviewing what he needed to bring the next day:

Paper airplanes, competition certificates, changes of clothes, Tingting's rabbit, sketchbooks, and pencils.

I went through everything one by one and made sure everything was ready.

He turned off the water, dried himself off, changed into his pajamas, and went back to his bedroom.

It's very quiet outside the window.

There were no barking dogs, no car noises, not even a breeze.

Moonlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a thin white line on the floor.

He closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.

A few days later, it was almost time for the day before the Ningbo Paper Airplane Challenge.

In the morning, Chen Hao took two suitcases out of the closet.

One is gray, and the other is pink.

The gray one is his, and the pink one is Tingting's.

He opened the two suitcases and spread them out on the ground.

He took his change of clothes out of the closet, folded them, and stuffed them into his gray suitcase.

Two T-shirts, a pair of trousers, a pair of shorts, several pairs of socks, and a set of pajamas.

It filled exactly halfway, no more, no less.

Then he started packing Tingting's suitcase.

He folded Tingting's clothes and put them inside: a few T-shirts, two pairs of pants, a jacket, and two sets of pajamas.

Then he put the rabbit in, and the rabbit sat on the clothes with its two long ears drooping.

He put the sketchbook and pencil back in. The page of the sketchbook that had been opened had a corner folded over; it was a drawing that Tingting hadn't finished last time.

He stuffed a few more packs of A4 paper into the suitcase and placed them on the side.

Tingting squatted down to the side, holding her two paper airplanes in her hands.

She looked at her suitcase, then at the paper airplane in her hand, and thought for a while.

"Dad, will the paper airplane get crushed?"

"Won't.

Dad wrapped it up in clothes.

Chen Hao took the paper airplanes, wrapped them tightly in a folded T-shirt, and then carefully placed them on top of the suitcase.

He then covered it with a piece of clothing to make sure the paper airplane wouldn't be crushed by anything else.

Tingting looked at it again, but she was still worried.

She reached out and pressed the garment, finding it soft, before nodding.

"Alright, turn it off."

Chen Hao zipped up the suitcases and placed them side by side by the door.

Chen Hao picked up his phone, found Yu Jingwen's number, and dialed it.

I answered it after it rang twice.

"Teacher Chen, have you set off yet?"

"Assistant Yu, I'm leaving for Ningbo now. It should take about four hours."
