Lu Qingxuan cupped his hands and said, "Your Majesty, rest assured, the pilgrim will definitely come."

Rolling Curtain nodded, then glanced at Lu Qingxuan and said, "I've heard of the Three Immortals Shrine you built. The Three Immortals of Zhongnan Mountain protect the people; they have quite a reputation."

"If you want to build a temple near Liusha River, I won't stop you. It's just that the people there are afraid of me and may not dare to come."

Lu Qingxuan smiled and said, "Time will tell. As long as Your Majesty stops doing evil, the people will naturally know."

Rolling Curtain stopped talking, turned and walked towards the river. After a few steps, she turned back and looked at Lu Qingxuan, hesitant to speak.

In the end, he simply cupped his hands in greeting and then leaped into the river, disappearing in an instant amidst the surging waves.

Tiger Power Immortal and Sheep Power Immortal returned from afar. Tiger Power Immortal scratched his head and said, "Third Brother, is that all?"

Lu Qingxuan smiled and said, "It's over."

"Not going to fight?" Tiger Power Immortal was somewhat disappointed.

"Why are you fighting?" Lu Qingxuan patted his shoulder. "He's a pitiful person, to be honest. Why not talk things out instead of resorting to violence?"

The Great Immortal Yang Li nodded, thinking that it would be best to resolve this matter without bloodshed.

As for the matter of the ancestral temple, once news of today's events reaches the local people, they will handle it themselves; there is no need for them to worry about it.

"Let's go." Lu Qingxuan patted the dust off his hands.

The three demons rode on clouds, crossed the Flowing Sand River, and continued south.

In the river,

Rolling Curtain stood at the bottom of the water, looking up as the three streaks of light disappeared into the horizon.

He touched the elixir in his arms, then looked at the newly erected Three Immortals Shrine on the riverbank. After a long silence, he placed the Demon-Subduing Staff across his lap and sat down cross-legged.

"The pilgrims on their journey to the West...?"

.....

Meanwhile, ten thousand miles away, on Mount Ling in the Western Paradise, lies the Great Thunderclap Temple.

now,

Inside the Great Thunder Temple, chanting filled the air, auspicious clouds swirled around, and the Buddha sat serenely on a nine-tiered lotus throne, his eyes slightly lowered, expounding the profound Dharma to his disciples.

Suddenly, for some unknown reason, the Buddha's brow twitched.

He stopped preaching and slowly opened his eyes.

"World Honored One?" Guanyin Bodhisattva asked softly when she saw him stop.

The Buddha did not answer immediately, but instead calculated with his fingers. After a moment, his brows furrowed slightly.

"Interesting, the workings of Heaven have shifted slightly," Buddha said softly.

Upon hearing this, all the disciples felt a chill run down their spines.

Guanyin Bodhisattva clasped her hands in prayer and asked, "What is it that the World-Honored One speaks of?"

The Buddha slowly said, "The Flowing Sand River, General Curtain Roller."

Guanyin Bodhisattva was taken aback, then quickly calculated with her fingers, her expression changing slightly.

"Did someone inform him about the pilgrimage?" Guanyin Bodhisattva asked, frowning.

Tathagata nodded, his gaze profound: "It wasn't just an instruction; that person also gave him two Rejuvenation Pills and advised him to stop harming people. Now that Curtain-Roller's nature has changed, the calamity that was supposed to happen has been reduced by three-tenths."

Upon hearing this, the disciples began to whisper amongst themselves.

Manjushri Bodhisattva frowned and said, "Who would dare to reveal heavenly secrets? The great undertaking of obtaining the scriptures was ordained by the Buddha. Every tribulation is indispensable and every hardship is necessary. If anyone tries to obstruct it, I'm afraid it will ruin the great undertaking."

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva also said, "These variables must be carefully observed."

"There is no need to panic," the Buddha said calmly. "That person did not do it intentionally, nor did he intend to ruin any important matters concerning our Buddhist sect."

Guanyin Bodhisattva clasped her hands in prayer and asked, "World Honored One, do you know who this person is?"

The Buddha lowered his gaze slightly and said calmly, "Above the Thirty-Three Heavens..."

Upon hearing this, all the disciples were shocked. The Thirty-Three Heavens was the territory of the Supreme Dao Ancestor. Could it be that this person was related to the Supreme Dao Ancestor?

"So it was him..." Guanyin Bodhisattva nodded slightly, understanding dawning on her mind.

She had met Lu Qingxuan before and knew his identity; after several encounters, she had a good impression of him.

"However, this is not entirely a bad thing. By retracting the curtain in advance, there will be fewer twists and turns when the Journey to the West begins. Although the calamities are reduced, the merits are not reduced but increased. This is the destiny within the variables..." said the Buddha.

The disciples nodded in agreement.

"Venerable Guanyin, this child has some karmic connection with you. Since he has obtained your willow leaf, give him a chance. You should go and settle this matter." Tathagata turned to look at Guanyin Bodhisattva.

Guanyin Bodhisattva put her palms together and said, "Your disciple will go immediately in accordance with the Buddha's decree."

Guanyin Bodhisattva received the decree, rode on auspicious clouds, left Mount Ling, and headed east.

She sat upright on the lotus platform, a vase in her hand swaying gently like a willow branch, her face compassionate, yet her gaze held a hint of complexity.

Auspicious clouds passed through layers of sea of clouds, crossing thousands of mountains and rivers.

Below, the Liusha River is already in sight.

The Bodhisattva did not rush down, but stopped on the cloud, his gaze piercing through the turbid river water and landing on the figure sitting cross-legged at the bottom of the river.

General Rolling Curtain had placed the Demon-Subduing Staff across his lap, closed his eyes, and meditated. The nine skulls around his neck glowed with a faint white light in the darkness.

His aura was much calmer than before, no longer violent or resentful, but with a rare tranquility.

The Bodhisattva nodded slightly and then turned his gaze to the distance.

In the direction of Zhongnan Mountain, three streaks of light were traveling through the clouds; they were none other than the three demons, Lu Qingxuan and his companions.

She hesitated for a moment, then descended from the clouds and went to meet the three streaks of light.

...

Meanwhile, Lu Qingxuan and his two demon companions were riding the clouds back north. Lu Qingxuan was walking in front when suddenly a thought struck him. He looked up and saw a celestial cloud slowly drifting towards them. On the cloud sat a figure in white robes, holding a vase. It was none other than Guanyin Bodhisattva.

"Bodhisattva?" Lu Qingxuan was slightly taken aback, then descended from the clouds and bowed in respect.

Tiger Power Immortal and Sheep Power Immortal also quickly followed suit and bowed.

Guanyin Bodhisattva landed in front of them, her gaze sweeping over the three of them before finally settling on Lu Qingxuan's face.

She smiled slightly and said, "Lu Qingxuan, you have quite the nerve."

Lu Qingxuan's heart skipped a beat, but his face remained calm as he asked, "Why does the Bodhisattva say such a thing?"

She looked at Lu Qingxuan and said, "You informed him of the journey to the West, revealing a heavenly secret a hundred years ahead of schedule. Do you know your crime?"

Lu Qingxuan remained silent for a moment, then said neither humbly nor arrogantly, "Bodhisattva, this disciple simply cannot bear to see General Rolling Curtain continue to suffer in that Flowing Sand River. He was originally a righteous god of the Heavenly Court, but he was demoted to the mortal realm after accidentally breaking a glass lamp. Every seven days, a flying sword pierces his chest, and he is already suffering unspeakably."

The disciple told him about the pilgrimage to the West, hoping to give him hope so that he would no longer give up on himself and stop eating the food of passersby.

Guanyin Bodhisattva looked at him, a hint of approval flashing in her eyes, and said, "You are quite eloquent, but do you know that the tribulations on the journey to the West are indispensable, and no tribulation can be omitted?"

"By having Juanlian calm down earlier, the calamity at Liusha River has been reduced by a third, which has introduced a change in the course of the pilgrimage."

"However, the World-Honored One said that this matter is not entirely a bad thing. By rolling up the curtain and calming down in advance, when the pilgrims pass through the Flowing Sand River a hundred years later, there will be fewer obstacles. Although the calamities are reduced, the merits will not be reduced but increased."

"This is the constant within the variable."

Lu Qingxuan asked curiously, "If that's the case, then why did the Bodhisattva stop us?"

Guanyin Bodhisattva then said, "You and I have some karmic connection, and I have come here today to settle this matter."

"Cause and effect?" Lu Qingxuan was taken aback.

"Although the willow leaf was stolen from the mortal realm by my inspiration, it was also due to my fault. You left behind karma by obtaining my willow leaf. Now I have refined it into a life-saving magic treasure and returned it to you."
