Hong Kong: Black Gold Tycoons

Chapter 52 Your business is my business

I heard from Chen Fei that he was going to sell arms.

Yako immediately frowned: "You really want to get into arms dealing? Cyril is watching you. If you go and sell arms, won't he catch you red-handed?"

Chen Fei dismissed it, saying, "Don't worry, he has his clever plan, but I have my countermeasures."

Yako thought for a moment and then said, "What if those buyers are actually police officers in disguise? Since Cyril wants to arrest you, he might arrange for someone to pretend to be a buyer to test you."

"There's absolutely no need to worry about that," Chen Fei said confidently. "I'm the king of intelligence in Hong Kong. If it really is a cop in disguise, I can recognize him at a glance."

That makes sense.

Ya Zi said, "Since you are so confident, I am relieved. If the people who bought the weapons are really robbers, then we can let them fight Cyril. Now we just need to see how accurate your intelligence, as the king of Hong Kong intelligence, really is."

Chen Fei pointed to his head: "I will definitely give you complete intelligence information so that you can carry out your plan and kill that foreigner Cyril. So what you need to do now is prepare a lot of video recorders and videotapes."

"OK!" Ya Zi nodded. "I'll wait for your information. This time, let's pull off a big heist together, something that will shake up Hong Kong."

Just then, the pager rang.

She picked it up, glanced at it, and said, "I have to go now. I have things to do at the company. I think you'd better buy me a car, otherwise I'll have to ask you to drive me here whenever I need to discuss something."

"Aren't you in charge of the money? Whether or not to buy a car is still your decision," Chen Fei laughed. "Does this kind of thing really need me, the big boss, to arrange?"

Ya Zi shook her head helplessly, "You really are a qualified hands-off manager."

When they reached the door, Chen Fei tossed her the car keys, saying, "Go back to the company yourself."

"And you?"

I'm going to visit a friend.

Chen Fei hailed a taxi on the roadside and headed straight for Edinburgh School.

On the way, I picked out a fruit basket and a bouquet of flowers at a gift shop.

When they passed a family planning supplies store, Chen Fei asked the driver to pull over and went inside.

There was only the proprietress in the shop, reading a newspaper.

Chen Fei glanced at the shelves and asked, "Do you have any in black?"

The proprietress looked up at him: "What, black?"

"condom."

The proprietress put down her newspaper, stood up, walked to the shelf, rummaged through it for a while, and took out a black box.

"Black, with a fruity flavor and a grainy texture."

Chen Fei glanced at the packaging and instantly fell in love with it. "I like this."

He Min lives on a quiet street near the center of Edinburgh, surrounded by several old banyan trees whose shade covers half the road.

This wasn't her home, but rather a place convenient for attending classes.

After getting out of the car, Chen Fei carried a fruit basket and flowers straight to the sixth floor, stood at He Min's door, and knocked.

"Teacher He, are you home? This is Chen Fei."

"They're here."

After a rustling sound inside, the door opened a crack, and He Min's face appeared through the crack.

She was wearing a long cotton dress for home, her hair was casually tied back, and her face was clean and without makeup.

There were some dark circles under his eyes, which clearly indicated that he hadn't been sleeping well lately.

"Mr. Chen? What brings you here?"

Chen Fei held up the fruit basket and flowers in his hand. "I was just passing by and thought I'd drop by. Won't you invite me in for a bit?"

He Min hesitated for a moment before inviting him into the house.

"This is for you." Chen Fei handed over the item in his hand.

"Thank you." He Min put the things down. "Mr. Chen, please have a seat. I'll get you a glass of water."

Chen Fei sat down on the sofa and looked around.

The house wasn't big, but it was very clean. There was a calligraphy scroll hanging on the wall and several books on the table.

"Have you taken care of Huang Sir's matter?" Chen Fei asked.

He Min sat down opposite him and nodded: "Everything has been taken care of. Thank you for seeing him off."

"It's only right." Chen Fei sighed and said, "Wong Sir is a good policeman. Hong Kong is losing a police force and a citizen alike."

He Min lowered her head, her fingers clutching the hem of her clothes, unsure of what to say.

Chen Fei asked again, "Have you eaten?"

He Min shook her head: "Not yet."

"Shall we go grab a bite together?"

He Min looked up at him, then looked down again: "It's not very convenient..."

"Is there anything inconvenient?" Chen Fei stood up. "Wong Sir entrusted me to take care of you before he passed away. You're hungry, and I'm sitting here drinking water. He won't be at peace watching from heaven."

He Min was both amused and exasperated by these words. Her lips twitched, but she didn't actually laugh.

Chen Fei stood up and said, "I haven't eaten either. There's a tea restaurant downstairs. It smelled really good when I passed by."

He Min thought for a moment, then said, "I'll go change my clothes."

When the two came downstairs.

He Min had changed into a white shirt and dark trousers, and her hair was tied up again, making her look much more energetic.

There's a restaurant downstairs.

After entering the store, Chen Fei handed her the menu: "Order whatever you want."

He Min took the menu, flipped through two pages, and ordered a bowl of wonton noodles.

Chen Fei also ordered one, plus two side dishes and two cups of iced lemon tea.

While waiting for their food, Chen Fei asked her, "How's work going?"

He Min sighed softly and said, "The school gave me a holiday and told me to adjust before going back to class, but I feel that staying here all the time is not a good idea, so I still have to go to class this afternoon."

Chen Fei nodded: "If there's anything I can help with, just ask. Huang Sir's business is my business. Since he entrusted me with this, I have to take care of everything properly."

Upon hearing this, He Min pondered for a moment and said, "Mr. Chen, if you're not too busy, there's something I'd like to ask you for help with."

"What's wrong?"

While carefully choosing her words, He Min said, "Last time we talked, I felt you were very knowledgeable, so I'd like you to tutor a student whose grades are absolutely terrible. Is that alright?"

"Tutoring?" Chen Fei asked, "Male or female?"

"It's a man, his name is Stephen Chow."

"Since it's your business, Teacher He, then it's my business. I'll go to the school with you to tutor this student in a bit," Chen Fei readily agreed.

He Min was immediately puzzled. What did she mean by "my business is your business"?

But it's not appropriate to ask what it means.

The two were eating.

A customer entered the store.

Upon seeing the newcomers, the waiter approached and greeted them, "Brother Fei, what would you like to eat?"

"The usual is fine." Li Yunfei said, finding a corner seat to sit down, glancing around from time to time, then looking towards the door.

……

The Peninsula Hotel.

The doctor wandered around outside for a while before returning to the suite.

The rabbit is already waiting in the room.

When she saw him return, she stood up.

"I received a message that someone in the underworld is selling goods: shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, and even rocket launchers."

The doctor's gaze sharpened slightly, and he asked, "Is the information reliable?"

The rabbit said, "The news came from Li Yunfei. He's quite famous in the underworld, a middleman who has handled many deals and has always had a good reputation. The news he releases should be true."

"Li Yunfei?" The doctor sat on the sofa, repeating the name. "Is he the one who helped Dadan make the connection?"

The rabbit nodded: "It was him. There was trouble with that bold deal, but he ran fast and escaped with his life. Later, he was arrested by the police for another case and was just released today."

"Someone contacted him to ship goods right after he was released?" The doctor frowned. "The timing is a bit too coincidental."

Rabbit said, "I've thought about that too, but it's unlikely that Li Yunfei would cooperate with the police. His reputation in the underworld is built on loyalty. If he becomes a traitor, he won't be able to stay in the underworld anymore."

He paused for a moment, then added, "Moreover, the deals he facilitated never involved the goods or the money; he just relayed messages and acted as a go-between. Even if the police caught him, they wouldn't get any evidence."

The doctor thought about it and realized that the rabbit made sense.

Li Yunfei, as a middleman, is a marginal figure in the gray area. It's too costly and too low-return for the police to use him, so it's not worthwhile.

"Where did the seller come from?" the doctor asked.

Rabbit shook his head: "Li Yunfei didn't say, he only said that the supplier's surname is Fang, and he has a boss who can get all kinds of goods in large quantities. I plan to contact Li Yunfei first and ask him to meet me to find out more."

The doctor nodded: "Go contact him, but don't rush. First, find out who this boss surnamed Fang is. We've dealt with Hong Kong arms dealers before, but we've never heard of anyone who can get their hands on rocket launchers. If it's a new face we've never seen before, be even more careful."

The rabbit said, "I know. I've already arranged to have dinner with Li Yunfei to try and get some information out of him. I'm going to go check it out now."

"Go ahead," the doctor nodded.

The rabbit went straight to the place where it had arranged to meet Li Yunfei.

Upon entering, my gaze swept across the store.

Li Yunfei was eating there.

The rabbit strode over to Li Yunfei and said, "Brother Fei."

Li Yunfei looked up, his eyes filled with wariness: "Who are you?"

"We arranged it over the phone," Rabbit said with a slight smile. "Don't be nervous, Fei-ge."

Li Yunfei thought to himself: It would be a miracle if I wasn't nervous.

He now suspects that someone might be secretly aiming a heavy machine gun at him.

He wouldn't have risked meeting the rabbit if it weren't for wanting to finish the task as quickly as possible.

"It's you. Have a seat," Li Yunfei asked. "Would you like something to eat?"

The rabbit held out its hand to the waiter: "A bowl of wontons, please."

He then lowered his voice and asked, "Brother Fei, is your information reliable? Are those big guns really for sale? Do they have machine guns, flamethrowers, and the like?"

Actually, Li Yunfei wasn't entirely sure either, but he still said, "The deals I, Li Yunfei, recommend are always reliable, but whether you're satisfied or not, we'll have to see the goods first, right?"

Rabbit nodded: "You're right. I'll only know if I'm satisfied after I try it. If there really are submachine guns, machine guns, and grenades, I will definitely give Fei a satisfactory commission."

He lit a cigarette and said, "Help me arrange a meeting with this seller as soon as possible. I have a shipment that was hijacked at sea, and I need some guys to settle the score."

"Hey, what are you buying these things for? You don't need to tell me." Li Yunfei immediately waved his hand. "I'm just a middleman. I don't ask where they came from or what they're for. I introduce business, and once the transaction is complete, you just give me the money."

With that, he stood up and said, "I'm leaving now. I'll call you after the seller replies."

"Waiting for your good news, Fei-ge."

Just as Li Yunfei reached the door, the two guests at the table also got up.

The two of them walked and talked.

"Teacher He, let's go."

"Are you sure it won't interfere with your work?"

Chen Fei shook his head and said, "No, we can leave those things to the people in the company. The most important thing right now is to solve your problem, Teacher He."

With that, the two walked out the door.

Li Yunfei followed closely behind.

The rabbit watched him leave, and after the food was served and it had eaten and drunk its fill, it also left the restaurant.

At this time.

A middle-aged man with a wooden stick in his mouth emerged from behind the wall, muttering under his breath, "Submachine guns, machine guns, grenades... Damn, the boss's case is still unsolved, and now there's this big case. Oh well, better to avoid trouble."

Suddenly someone called out to him from behind, "Uncle Da, what are you muttering to yourself?"

Uncle Da was startled. He turned around and tapped the young man on the head with the stick in his mouth. "Damn it, you little brat, don't you know you can scare someone to death?"
