Hong Kong: Black Gold Tycoons
Chapter 27 shows that he doesn't care about you.
Edinburgh Secondary School is quite well-known in Hong Kong.
It is said that many members of parliament have come from there.
When Chen Fei arrived by car, it was just after the students had finished class.
Lok Wai-ching, accompanied by two employees, set up a simple information desk at the school gate, holding survey forms in her hand, and stopped passing students to ask questions.
"Excuse me, students, this is a survey with prizes. Do you usually enjoy reading magazines?"
"Are there any types of content you'd like to see in a magazine, such as celebrity interviews or fashion tips?"
"Who is your favorite celebrity?"
"..."
The students surrounded the information desk, responding all at once.
Some pointed at the celebrities in the sample magazine and shouted, "I want to be a groom every night like Patrick Tse," while others laughed and said, "I want to see my idol's daily outfits," and still others gathered together to discuss the gossip in the magazine.
Lok Wai-ching and her staff were busy taking notes and responding patiently.
As the boss, Chen Fei did not participate in their work. Instead, he leaned against the front of the car, observing the young female students passing by and secretly sighing that youth was truly wonderful.
My gaze was suddenly drawn to a figure walking out of the school gate.
She wore black-rimmed glasses, had neat short hair, a simple white shirt paired with blue jeans, and carried a handbag, exuding an intellectual beauty.
When she saw Lok Wai-ching, she walked over and greeted her with a smile, "Wai-ching, what are you doing here?"
Hearing the voice, Yue Huizhen stopped writing, looked up, and replied with a smile, "Oh, it's Teacher He Min. I brought my staff to do market research. Our company is launching a new magazine and wanted to ask the students about their preferences. Did you just finish class?"
He Min nodded and said with a smile, "Coming to the school gate for research? Is your magazine aimed at students? As far as I know, students at our school usually like to read content related to celebrities, because I've confiscated quite a few copies of it."
Chen Fei stared at He Min's appearance for a few seconds, and suddenly remembered why Edinburgh College sounded familiar. Wasn't this the school in "Fight Back to School"?
The students greeted He Min warmly when they saw her.
"Hello, Teacher He."
"Thank you for your hard work, Teacher He."
"Teacher He..."
He Min smiled and nodded to the students, her tone gentle: "Go home early after class."
The students responded in unison.
Le Huizhen pointed to the survey form on the table and said to He Min, "You're right. I just asked a few students, and they all really like celebrity interviews and gossip. It seems that our magazine's direction is correct. When the magazine is published, I'll send you a few copies so you can see our results."
"That's great, thank you so much!" He Min smiled and said, "I remember your column was quite popular, why are you suddenly doing magazine work?"
Le Huizhen glanced at Chen Fei beside her and said irritably, "Because I have a heartless boss. Boss, this is my classmate He Min."
"Ah Zhen, you're not right about that." Chen Fei walked over and extended his hand: "Hello, Teacher He, my name is Chen Fei, I'm Ah Zhen's partner and boss."
"Hello." He Min politely shook hands with him.
The three were chatting and laughing when suddenly they heard a piercing engine noise.
Two vans sped aggressively toward the school gate, then suddenly stopped at the roadside. The tires screeched as they rubbed against the ground, and the vans' momentum nearly caused them to hit students who couldn't get out of the way.
Before anyone could react, the van door was flung open with a bang, and seven or eight burly men wielding sticks filed out. Each of them had a fierce expression and, without saying a word, began swinging their sticks at the students at the school gate.
"Ouch!"
"what!"
The sudden attack caught the students off guard, and screams erupted instantly, turning the once orderly school gate into chaos.
The students were terrified and ran in all directions. Some fell to the ground, while others crouched down with their heads in their hands. The scene was a complete mess.
He Min's face turned deathly pale instantly. She instinctively rushed forward and tightly shielded a student who couldn't dodge in time behind her.
Seeing the bandits' clubs coming at her, she closed her eyes tightly in fear, bracing herself to be hit.
But the next moment.
The expected pain did not come; instead, a piercing wail erupted.
He Min opened her eyes in confusion, only to see the ruthless boss that Le Huizhen had mentioned rushing down the mountain like a tiger towards the group of bandits.
He was incredibly skilled; with each leap and turn, every punch and kick landed precisely on the bandits' vital points.
He Minsong released the students she was protecting and looked at Chen Fei's back with disbelief in her eyes.
Ah Zhen, that heartless boss, is surprisingly skilled in martial arts.
Within minutes, all seven or eight burly men were knocked to the ground, their faces bruised and swollen, covered in injuries, unable to move, only able to let out cries of pain.
As the chaos gradually subsided, the fleeing students stopped and stared in shock at the scene before them.
Le Huizhen rushed over, her face filled with lingering fear. She grabbed Chen Fei's arm and asked with concern, "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Chen Fei sneered, "It's nothing, just a bunch of small fry. They can't hurt me. Quickly call the police and find out what happened."
He Min said with gratitude, "Mr. Chen, thank you. If it weren't for you, these students would have been in danger."
Chen Fei waved his hand, "It was nothing, Teacher He, you don't need to be so polite. We can't just stand by and watch someone bully a student here."
The students around him also gathered around, thanking Chen Fei repeatedly. Their fear gradually dissipated, and their eyes were filled with admiration.
A silver sedan pulled up, stopped, and a young man in a suit got out.
Seeing the people lying on the ground groaning, he asked in confusion, "Amin, what happened?"
"You've come at the right time. These people were just beating up students at the school gate. Luckily, this gentleman intervened, otherwise the students would have been in danger," He Min said hurriedly. "Quickly arrest all of them."
Lok Wai-ching also said, "So it's Inspector Wong. You've come at just the right time."
He then whispered to Chen Fei, "This is Amin's boyfriend, from the anti-triad unit."
Huang Sir did not rush to take action. He shifted his gaze from the people screaming on the ground to Chen Fei, his eyes full of suspicion.
Chen Fei was immediately displeased. Now he dared to look at me with suspicion. Was he going to do something bad to me next?
Don't blame me if I steal your boyfriend later.
"He can take on seven or eight people by himself, that's pretty good."
So-so.
Inspector Wong nodded and said, "Could you please help us take these people to the police station and assist with the investigation?"
"Forget it, we're not police officers, and we don't have handcuffs. What if they run away?" Chen Fei decisively refused.
Huang Sir looked slightly displeased and turned to go back to his car to get his walkie-talkie and call someone.
Seeing that the situation was under control, Lok Wai-ching went to tell her employees to pack up their things.
Chen Fei whispered to He Min, "Your boyfriend is a policeman? Don't blame me for being nosy, but to be honest, being a policeman is really dangerous. You've seen in the newspapers that gangs have a lot of standard weapons. They often deal with gangs, so the danger level is even higher. Who knows, they might get shot a few times one day and die heroically in the line of duty."
"Uh..." He Min paused for a moment, then said, "It is indeed quite dangerous."
However, she didn't say much, probably because she wasn't familiar with Chen Fei.
Shortly after Officer Wong called, a patrol car arrived, likely patrolling nearby.
After having all the men put into the car, Inspector Wong came over to Ho Man and said, "Man, let's go."
Just as He Min took a step, Chen Fei suddenly said, "Inspector Huang, please wait a moment."
Wong Sir was completely bewildered, and asked in a cold tone, "What do you want?"
"Inspector Wong, this is a major case. Are you just going to leave like this and give the credit to someone else?" Chen Fei asked him.
Inspector Wong frowned: "Why are you telling me all this?"
"You're still young, this is the perfect time for you to get a promotion and a raise. What if someone else uses this case to take credit?" Chen Fei said. "These people who rushed to the school gate and beat up students are definitely gang members. Aren't you in the anti-triad unit? Shouldn't you take this opportunity to investigate further?"
"What's it to you?" Inspector Wong was baffled.
Chen Fei said helplessly, "These students' parents might be some kind of councilors or something. As a police officer, if you handle this case well, the higher-ups will definitely not forget your contribution."
Inspector Wong's mind raced, and suddenly he realized that what he said made a lot of sense.
After thinking for a moment, he turned to He Min and said, "For the safety of the students, I think it would be better to arrest them and interrogate them."
"Didn't we agree to have dinner together?" He Min frowned slightly.
Inspector Wong said, "We can eat tomorrow, but if we let them go, these thugs might come back to beat up students again tomorrow, so it's best to figure things out. Ah Min, I'm leaving now."
After saying that, he really turned and left.
He Min watched his car drive away, her face looking very unpleasant.
"Hey, I knew the police were unreliable; they actually turned around and left," Chen Fei said to He Min. "Let us take you home."
He Min said irritably, "If you hadn't said those things to him, would he have turned around and left?"
"I don't even know him. We only exchanged a few words, and he just left. What does that mean?" Chen Fei said, "It means he doesn't care about you, and it also means you two aren't a good match."
He Min opened her mouth, but didn't know how to refute him.
Chen Fei then said, "Forget it, let's not talk about him. Let's treat you to dinner."
