Peninsula: My Top-Tier Landlord

Chapter 86: Slowly Filling Up

"Yay!"

Bae Joo-hyun cheered as if she had won a battle, and Ye Fan quickly turned his head away from the phone, almost getting tinnitus.

Every member of their group is a great singer and dancer, quite talented. But having them belt out high notes so late at night is really hard on the ears.

"Are you that happy?" Ye Fan rubbed his ears and said indulgently.

"Hmm, of course I'm happy. Do I need to spell it out why?" Bae Joo-hyun's tone was light and cheerful, a far cry from her previous somber voice. She even teased Ye Fan.

"Um... well..." Ye Fan was at a loss for words.

"Alright, I won't tease you anymore. Please take care of me in the next few days, Assistant Ye."

"it is good."

The next morning, Bae Joo-hyun told her other assistant that she would be bringing other people along and that she would be given a few days off. She then sent a message to Ye Fan.

"What's your house password? Can you tell me?"

"Why are you asking this?" Ye Fan glanced at the time. It was only noon. Could she be planning to go to his house early?

"I need to go over and review my lessons!"

What a perfectly legitimate reason!

However, Bae Joo-hyun comes over every day now, and has seen everything except her own bedroom. Ye Fan has also given Bae Joo-hyun the password.

When I got home after grocery shopping from get off work, I entered the password to unlock the door. As soon as I opened it, Bae Joo-hyun's big head popped out from behind the wall. She was wearing big glasses, had her hair tied in a ponytail, and said with a grin, "Welcome back."

"Yes, I'm back." Ye Fan nodded with a smile, but immediately realized something was wrong. He sounded like a wife welcoming her husband home from work.

Looking at Bae Joo-hyun's outfit, all in casual home clothes, she looks even more like her.

"You...have you been here all afternoon?"

Bae Joo-hyun took the bag from his hand and carried it to the kitchen. "Yes, I arrived at noon and have been reading the whole time."

Ye Fan, having changed his shoes, asked, "Why did you come so early?"

"I was bored staying at home, so I came over to read some books," Bae Joo-hyun replied naturally. Seulgi and the others were all busy because they often came to Ye Fan's place. Now, her own home was just a place to sleep, while Ye Fan's place had a more homely atmosphere, so she came over.

Ye Fan glanced at the coffee table in the living room and noticed that there were a few more books on it. It seemed that she had brought something with her. This afternoon must have been spent more than just reviewing her lessons.

"Do you need my help washing the vegetables?"

"No need, you go read your book, I'll take care of tidying up." Ye Fan shook his head and told her to go to the living room.

"Oh~"

Bae Joo-hyun left the kitchen, sat cross-legged on the sofa, and listened to the sounds coming from the kitchen. The corners of her mouth lifted again, and she lay down on the sofa, swinging her little feet incessantly.

For the next two weeks, Bae Joo-hyun brought some things to Ye Fan's place almost every day: some dolls, some books she read, a bookshelf she bought to store her books, and even some cosmetics.

During this time, she even bought some figurines for Ye Fan, as if to shut him up, and even bought a display window to put the figurines in.

When the shop windows or bookshelves were bought, the two of them installed them together, although Ye Fan did most of the work.

As Ye Fan watched as Bae Joo-hyun's belongings accumulated in the room, he felt that her presence was everywhere except when she wasn't sleeping there at night.

Bae Joo-hyun is slowly filling the house with her own presence, which makes Ye Fan want to suggest that she move in and stay in the guest room, but he's too embarrassed to say it. He feels that if he brings it up, Bae Joo-hyun will definitely agree immediately.

Bae Joo-hyun seemed to know his thoughts, and afterwards she would stay in the guest room from time to time.

Ye Fan: ...

Is my landlord living with me?

That doesn't quite make sense. They weren't living together; they didn't sleep together, but rather slept in the guest room from time to time. They were more like roommates.

"How about I move out of the master bedroom and you move in there?"

One evening after class, Ye Fan thought about it for a moment and then told Bae Joo-hyun about it.

"Why would I live in the master bedroom? This room is rented to you. You are the tenant and the current owner, so naturally it's your place. Besides, I don't live here often." Bae Joo-hyun shook her head, seemingly oblivious to the teasing in Ye Fan's words.

Ye Fan: ...

Bae Joo-hyun was living a very comfortable life, spending her days at home reading. Sometimes, on a whim, she would start preparing dinner before Ye Fan got off work, making Korean food. However, seeing that Ye Fan didn't seem to like it, she stopped making it.

Moreover, her cooking skills were not as good as Ye Fan's. After trying to cook Chinese food a few times, seeing Ye Fan force himself to eat it even with a frown, Bae Joo-hyun became discouraged and left the kitchen completely.

On the 20th, Ye Fan returned home around noon. Bae Joo-hyun, who was reading on the sofa, got up after hearing the noise and looked over, asking in surprise, "You're on holiday?"

"Yeah, I'm on holiday, but I have to go to the annual party tonight." Ye Fan changed his shoes and sat down on the sofa. He's gotten used to this lifestyle now.

"Want to drink at the company's annual party?" Bae Joo-hyun made way for her.

"We'll definitely be drinking." Ye Fan nodded. The company's annual party is a relaxing night for the employees, so drinking is a given.

"When are we going?" Bae Joo-hyun nodded knowingly, hugging her legs and moving closer to Ye Fan.

"7 p.m.

"Then drink less. If you get drunk, give me a call and I'll come pick you up," Bae Joo-hyun said with concern.

Ye Fan opened his mouth, but in the end, he only smiled gently and nodded in agreement, "Okay, I understand, but I don't think it will trouble you."

"You know my alcohol tolerance, I'll definitely make it home on my own." Ye Fan raised his hand and gently patted Bae Joo-hyun's head.

Bae Joo-hyun pouted. She knew Ye Fan had a high alcohol tolerance and could easily take on Red Velvet by himself. However, apart from Joy, who had a decent alcohol tolerance, the rest of Red Velvet couldn't drink much.

He's going to drink with his colleagues tonight, and she doesn't know how good or bad they are at drinking. Besides, many people get drunk because they think they can hold their liquor and then drink whatever comes their way!

"Hmph, I'm not entirely at ease. Remember to drink less, and call me if you drink too much." Bae Joo-hyun snorted twice. She remembered that there were many people in Ye Fan's organization watching him.

Ye Fan nodded helplessly, realizing he was being controlled. "Okay, I got it. I'll definitely call you before I get drunk."

"That's good." Bae Joo-hyun was relieved.

After Ye Fan left in the evening, Bae Joo-hyun sat on the sofa watching TV. When it was 10 o'clock and she still hadn't received a call from Ye Fan, she got up and went to the kitchen to find ingredients to cook a hangover soup.
