Peninsula: My Top-Tier Landlord

Chapter 6: Your Brother-in-Law

Bae Joo-hee entered the password to open the door, changed her shoes in the entryway, and then walked into the living room.

"Unnie!"

Not seeing her sister in the living room, Bae Joo-hee called out and then went to the bedroom door and knocked.

"Unnie, are you still asleep?"

The door clicked open a crack, and Bae Joo-hyun, dressed neatly, didn't look like she had just woken up. She gently pushed her sister's forehead with her finger, "I was in the bathroom just now, and you started yelling as soon as you came in."

After leaving the room and closing the door, Bae Joo-hyun walked past her sister into the living room.

"Hehe, it's been so long since I've seen my unnie."

"Unnie, you're off all month, aren't you going out with your brother-in-law?"

"Going on a trip or something."

Sitting down on the sofa, Bae Joo-hyun glanced suspiciously at her clingy younger sister, looking her up and down with a distrustful look, and asked, "You really didn't come here with some kind of mission, did you?"

She hadn't even considered this possibility, but her sister brought it up as soon as she arrived, which made people suspicious.

"No way!" Bae Joo-hee quickly denied.

"I'm just really curious what kind of man could catch your eye, unnie."

"Really?" Bae Joo-hyun leaned closer, staring intently into her younger sister's eyes.

"Really!" Bae Joo-hee nodded, her expression unchanged and without any panic.

Curiosity was real, and so was the mission I came with; it's just that I'm too familiar with my sister, and I can lie to her without batting an eye.

She became very curious after learning from her mother that her older sister was dating. After receiving the task from her mother, she rushed over as soon as she had a break!

The main thing is that this woman has never had a proper boyfriend since her debut. Even the couples she's been paired up with online are just for show. Now that I've heard her say that she has a boyfriend, this is a big deal!

"Still very suspicious..."

"Oh dear, sister, there really isn't any!"

"We're sisters, so we're definitely in the same boat. Besides, I can help you make the right choice, right?" Bae Joo-hee said, raising an eyebrow as she tried to persuade her older sister with this argument.

"You, the one who's going to vet the candidates?"

"This is completely upside down." Bae Joo-hyun chuckled and lightly tapped her sister's forehead with her index finger.

"Hey!"

"Even though you're an unnie, you might not know more about this than I do," Bae Joo-hee said, pointing to herself. She'd had several relationships.

Bae Joo-hyun was speechless for a moment; she really couldn't refute that!

But her boyfriend is a fabrication; he's a fake. How can she verify his identity?

"You... your brother-in-law is very busy with work lately and doesn't have time. Let's talk about it when he's free," Bae Joo-hyun stammered, trying to brush it off, refusing to answer no matter how Bae Joo-hee asked.

When Kang Seulgi arrived, Bae Joo-hee turned her attention to this older sister. Bae Joo-hyun gave Kang Seulgi a look, signaling her to handle the situation.

After obtaining some information about her brother-in-law, Pei Zhuxi finally calmed down.

Bae Joo-hyun felt somewhat helpless about her younger sister. She had spoiled her since she was little, which had led to the younger sister being completely unafraid of her now, and being quite mischievous.

The weather was nice today, and Kang Seulgi suggested going out for a walk, which Bae Joo-hyun and her sister readily agreed to.

As night fell, the three women, who had spent the afternoon strolling around, arrived at a quiet bar, planning to have some dinner and a few drinks before heading home.

"Unnie, is your brother-in-law still at get off work so late?"

"How about we call him out for a drink?" Bae Joo-hee propped her head up, looked at her sister across from her, and tentatively suggested.

"Why call him out? He's worked all day, let him rest." Bae Joo-hyun immediately objected.

"Huh?"

"Really?" Bae Joo-hee's eyes showed even more suspicion. Why didn't she believe it?

This woman is acting very strangely. She keeps making excuses when the topic of her boyfriend comes up, and she hasn't been on her phone much today. She doesn't seem like a couple deeply in love.

If she really had a boyfriend she hadn't been dating for long, she would definitely be in the honeymoon phase of getting to know each other, but my sister doesn't show any signs of being in a honeymoon phase at all.

Is it...

"Unnie, this brother-in-law, you didn't make that up, did you?"

Bae Joo-hyun's heart skipped a beat. She found out so quickly?

As expected, it was still full of loopholes. She sighed and was just thinking about whether to bribe her sister to stop her from telling their parents when Kang Seulgi, who had been watching the show, suddenly spoke up.

"No way, Joo-hee. Didn't you want to know what your brother-in-law looks like? Just wait a moment, he'll be here soon."

"Really?" Bae Joo-hee was stunned.

Bae Joo-hyun was completely stunned!

Pulling Seulgi back to her feet, Bae Joohyun whispered in her ear, "What are you going to do?"

"Bring it over for unnie's boyfriend," Kang Seulgi said with a smile, but Bae Joohyun felt that the smile was the kind that seemed to enjoy watching the drama unfold.

"Unnie, just you wait."

Kang Seulgi got up and left her seat as she spoke.

This bar has two floors, and their seats were on the second floor by the window, right next to the street. While they were eating melons, they glanced downstairs and saw a familiar yet unfamiliar figure.

"How is it? This store is pretty good, isn't it?" Wu Yingying asked with a smile.

"Hmm, it's alright." Ye Fan nodded.

The shop was nicely decorated, and the speakers were playing ballads at a moderate volume, not so loud that you could talk right up to their face; it created a good atmosphere.

After pouring his drink and clinking glasses, Ye Fan took a sip and saw a girl waving at him from a distance. He looked around and realized that the girl was staring at him. With a flick of her wrist, Ye Fan pointed at himself.

I?

The girl nodded. Yes, it's you!

Setting down his glass, Ye Fan stood up with some suspicion, excused himself to his colleague, and walked towards the girl.

The bar's lights were a warm yellow, not very bright, and the girl was wearing a hat, so he couldn't see her face clearly at first glance.

"Excuse me, what can I do for you?"

Kang Seulgi looked up and sized Ye Fan up and down. He was indeed very handsome. She pointed to herself and asked, "Don't you recognize me?"

"you?"

Ye Fan frowned. Now that he was mentioned, it did seem somewhat familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

"I'm your landlord's teammate and sister."

When Kang Seulgi reminded him, Ye Fan remembered her: small eyes, round face. "You're Kang Seulgi?"

"Yes, it's me."

"Who are you looking for?" After the surprise came confusion. How did Kang Seulgi know him and why did she call him over to talk?

Did Bae Joo-hyun say that?

That's not right either, she doesn't have any photos of herself.

"Of course, it was your landlord who told me. And now I need your help with a small favor. Come with me." After saying that, Kang Seulgi took Ye Fan's hand and went upstairs.

"What's the matter?" Ye Fan subconsciously followed Jiang Seulgi.

You'll find out in a moment.

Bae Joo-hyun's fingers tapped erratically on the table, her gaze occasionally drifting towards the stairs, wondering what Seulgi was up to.

After a while, two figures walked towards them. One of them was Seulgi, and the other...

"How could it be him?"

Ye Fan followed Jiang Seulgi to the table and nodded to the shocked landlord as a greeting.

"Here you are, your brother-in-law!"
