Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 90 Charman's Gratitude
The next morning, the fog had not yet dissipated.
Wayne poured a tub of hot water into the bathroom, and steam rose up, blocking half of the window. He took off his clothes and stepped into the tub; the hot water reached his waist, and he relaxed completely.
Yesterday's experience was quite good.
The panel popped up at that moment.
[Audrian Express - Urgent]
[Delivery Log: The medicine you sent was delivered to Aldrian via three routes. The first to arrive was a high-flying eagle, which delivered the package to the church at midnight last night. By the time Charman received it, he was barely clinging to life. He saw your name, and he wept.]
[Note: He recalled his youth. He thought his life was over, that the goddess had long since abandoned him. Unexpectedly, as he was about to die, the goddess took him back, and he decided to serve her for life.]
[Note 2: His Tauren power has been triggered again. He has decided to give you Elena; Charman feels it's the best gift he can offer. Most importantly, he likes her.]
[P.S.: I was very happy to hear the news from Elena.]
Wayne stared at the panel and remained silent for a moment.
No, is the power of a minotaur really that strong?
He leaned into the wooden tub, hot water spilling onto the floor. He finally understood Charman; he could never escape that one thing in his life. He was outrageous in his youth, and he wasn't quiet in his old age either, even his thank-you gift was so…unique.
Elena.
Wayne certainly remembered, a lonely woman. That day she was washing clothes, but she hadn't wrung them out properly, and a lot of water was dripping.
Is Charman going to send her over now?
He shook his head.
It wasn't that he discriminated against Elena.
In his eyes, everyone is equal.
However, he doesn't need a woman right now.
……
While Wayne was taking a bath, the two little ones sat by the door.
The bathroom door was as thin as a sheet of paper.
Emma sat on the doorstep, her chin resting on her hands, staring at the crack in the door for a long time. The crack wasn't big; it slanted to the right from the center, and you could see puffs of hot air billowing out from inside.
"elder sister."
"Um."
"Why do you think the owner closes the door when taking a shower?"
Ella sat next to her, leaning against the door frame, knees together, hands on her lap.
"Because...because you have to close the door when you take a shower."
"But we didn't close the door when we took a shower."
Ella thought for a moment.
"That's...that's because we forgot."
"Oh." Emma nodded, then glanced into the crack again. "Sister, aren't you curious?"
"Not curious."
"Aren't you curious?"
Ella twitched her fingers on her knee.
"Not curious."
"Then why are your ears red?"
Ella just glanced at it too.
Ella subconsciously raised her hand to touch her ear. When her fingertips touched her earlobe, it burned, like being licked by a flame. She lowered her hand and gripped the hem of her skirt.
"That's...that was blown by the wind."
"There's no wind."
"It's windy."
"no."
Emma tilted her head and looked at her for a while, then suddenly smiled, revealing two little tiger teeth and her eyes curving into crescents.
"Sister, your ears always turn red when you lie."
Ella didn't reply, turning her face away and revealing her bright red ear tips to him. Emma stood up from the threshold, dusted off her skirt, took two steps forward, and then stepped back.
"elder sister."
"What?"
"Do you think the master might...?"
"What if?"
Emma opened her mouth, thought for a long time, but couldn't figure out how to put the question in her mind into a coherent sentence. She gave up on the idea, sat down again on the threshold, and continued to stare at the crack.
Soon, the sound of water in the shower room stopped.
Emma moved another half inch closer to the threshold.
The door was pushed open from the inside.
Wayne stood in the doorway, his hair still wet, water droplets dripping from the ends. He was already dressed, his robe buttoned up neatly, his belt fastened properly. If it weren't for his still-wet hair, you wouldn't know he had just taken a shower.
He looked down at the two little ones sitting on the threshold.
One was resting their chin on their hand, the other leaning against the door frame; both faces were tilted back at the same time, their eyes shining like two small lamps in the morning light.
"What are you doing here?"
Emma blinked.
"Waiting for its master."
"What are you waiting for me for?"
"I'm not doing anything," she said matter-of-factly. "I just want to wait."
Wayne glanced at her, then at Ella. Ella didn't speak, but her ears were red, from her earlobes to the tips, standing out starkly in the twilight.
"Get up, the ground is cold."
Emma jumped up from the threshold and patted her skirt. Ella followed suit, standing up a little slower than her sister; her knees seemed a bit stiff, and she swayed slightly as she straightened up.
Wayne reached out and helped her up.
"Thank you, Master."
Wayne didn't say anything, let go of her hand, and turned to walk into the corridor. The two little ones followed behind, one on the left and one on the right, their steps light and quick, like two little tails that couldn't be shaken off.
The panel popped up at this point.
Emma's Current Status
[Status: Simply curious.]
[Note: She was genuinely just curious. She wanted to know what her master looked like when he took a bath, and how it differed from theirs. She wasn't thinking about anything else. Her mind couldn't hold much; the word "master" already took up more than half of it, leaving only enough space for "delicious food" and "fun."]
[P.S.: She had just seen her master's back through the crack. She concluded that her master's back was wider than her sister's. And then nothing more. She stored this information in her mind, intending to use it later; as for how to use it, she hadn't decided yet.]
[Ella - Current Status]
[Status: Curious at the knowledge level.]
[Note: She knew more than Emma. It wasn't that someone taught her; it was from her years in the slave market, from what she saw and heard. Some things don't need to be deliberately learned; you learn them naturally by listening and observing. She knew that men and women were different, she knew what those differences meant, and she knew what those differences could be used for.]
[Note: She saw it too. Not from behind, but from the side. When Wayne turned to get the cloth, he was facing her sideways. She only looked for half a breath before looking away, but that half breath was enough for her to confirm one thing: some knowledge cannot be learned from books, but can be verified from the profile of its master. In some areas, her current knowledge has already surpassed Lillian's.]
[Note: Lillian is currently the only member of the Witch Cult who hasn't discovered any alternative uses for water magic, even after being hinted at it.]
Wayne smiled slightly.
The presence of the two little ones warmed his heart.
Only the sound of three footsteps could be heard in the corridor.
"Owner."
Emma's voice came from behind.
"Um."
Your hair is still dripping wet.
"It'll dry in a bit."
"You'll catch a cold."
"Won't."
"Yes." Emma pulled a handkerchief from her sleeve, jogged a couple of steps around to him, stood on tiptoe, and pressed the handkerchief to his hair. "I'll wipe it for you."
The handkerchief was white, folded neatly, and the edges still smelled of soap. She wiped her hair very carefully, pressing it down strand by strand from the ends to the roots.
Wayne lowered his head so she could reach it.
Emma wiped for a while, then handed the handkerchief to her sister.
"Sister, it's your turn."
Ella took the handkerchief, hesitated for a moment, and then also stood on tiptoe. Her movements were much gentler than her sister's; the handkerchief pressed against her hair, almost imperceptible. After wiping for a while, she took the handkerchief back, folded it neatly, and tucked it into her sleeve.
"Alright, Master."
Wayne touched his hair; it was indeed no longer dripping wet.
"Thanks."
Ella shook her head, her ears turning red again.
