Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 77 Awakening from Coma Awakening from Coma...
Wendy has very fair skin.
There was nothing above.
Yes, it means exactly what it says.
There's nothing there!
At this moment, Wayne had already recited the goddess's holy name in his heart.
Goddess Antlas is above.
Your followers will always be loyal to you.
Wendy blushed slightly, and seeing that Wayne didn't answer, she continued, "I know, Mr. Wayne. It's part of your treatment plan, necessary for the treatment, so I don't mind..."
Wayne opened his mouth.
What is needed for treatment?
When did I ever make such a rule?!
Wayne was caught in a cycle of self-examination.
No, were we that well prepared?
They even came up with an excuse for him.
Wendy glanced at Wayne.
Her face was turned to the other side of the pillow.
"Mr. Wayne...can we begin?"
Wayne looked at her.
He wanted to say something, like, "I don't have that rule," or "Please put your clothes on properly," or "Have you misunderstood something?" But the words stuck in his throat. What could he say? Tell her to put her clothes on properly and say this wasn't part of the treatment procedure? How red would her face turn? Would she dare come back next time?
She finally mustered up her courage.
Forget it.
He placed his hand on it.
"Let's begin!"
Treatment has begun.
Ten minutes later, Wayne stopped.
Treatment completed.
The Wendy panel appeared.
The panel pops up.
[Wendy's Treatment Report]
[Residual Curse: Reduced to minimum level.]
[Note: She just experienced a strange cycle. She imagined the scene, felt dizzy; then the water magic pulled her back, she continued imagining, and felt dizzy again. This cycle repeated itself, like someone sitting on a swing, just stopping only to be pushed again, swinging higher and higher, floating more and more.]
[Note 2: Due to Wendy's consciousness, your water magic is constantly torn between its healing and other functions.]
[P.S.: Your water magic stopped just in time. A few breaths later, she might have really fainted. Not just the comfortable kind of faint, but a self-protective response to brain overload.]
[Also: You manipulated a large amount of extra elemental energy that wasn't generated by your magic, preventing a shocking and embarrassing situation. You preserved her dignity. She didn't know this. She thought it was because of her strong willpower. Dazed and confused, she was currently feeling proud of her own willpower.]
When the treatment ended, Wendy wasn't fully recovered. Her eyes were half-closed, her gaze unfocused, as if she had just surfaced from the depths of water. A faint smile lingered on her lips, a smile not for anyone else, but one that welled up from the bottom of her heart.
"Mr. Wayne..." Her voice was very soft, as if it drifted from a great distance. "I saw the goddess."
"Um."
"A very white, very bright place. She was smiling at me."
Wayne didn't respond.
"So that's what the goddess looks like." Wendy's lips curled up slightly. "She's different from the one depicted on the icon. She's prettier than the icon. Her hair is very long, hanging down like...like a waterfall. Her hands are so soft..."
Wayne pulled a small porcelain bottle from his pocket, uncorked it, and held the bottle to her nose. A faint herbal scent filled the air, Wendy's brow relaxed, and her breathing became completely steady. Sleep-inducing potion; she didn't need to drink it, just smelling it was enough. She needed a nap; her mind would be clearer when she woke up.
Wayne sat on the edge of the bed for a moment, looking at her face and then at her neckline.
He was thinking about a problem.
Should we tie it for her, or leave it untied?
Button it up. What will she think when she wakes up and finds it buttoned up? Will she think he did something to her while she was asleep? Or what if I leave it unbuttoned? What will she think when she wakes up and finds it unbuttoned? Will she think he deliberately left it unbuttoned, waiting to see her embarrass herself?
He thought about it.
It's neither right nor wrong to be connected.
He thought for a moment and decided to cover her with his coat.
He had just draped his robe over the door when it opened.
Mayfair stood in the doorway, one hand still on the doorknob. Her gaze first fell on the bed, where Wendy lay, her clothes undone, the edges of her clothes exposed.
At that moment, Wayne was taking off his clothes.
His hand was hanging in mid-air, and he didn't have time to bring it back.
Mayfair's expression began to change. From initial shock, it transformed into a knowing "I understand." Her eyes darted back and forth between Wayne and Wendy.
"Sorry to bother you."
The door closed.
The sound wasn't loud, but it was completely shut off.
Wayne lowered his hand.
Oh no. This is a huge misunderstanding.
Wayne quickly covered Wendy with the monk's robe.
He immediately chased after him.
Mayfair hasn't gone far.
At the end of the corridor, just as she turned the corner, the hem of her nun's habit swept across the room like a black feather billowing in the wind. Wayne rushed after her, intercepting her halfway down the corridor.
"Mayfair".
Mayfair turned around.
"Your Excellency, is there anything I can help you with?"
Wayne walked up to her.
"What happened just now wasn't what you think."
Mayfair looked at him without saying a word.
"Wendy came for a follow-up check on the remaining curse, and there was a slight mishap during the treatment." Wayne's voice was flat, as if he were stating something unrelated to himself. "When the water element was flowing, her consciousness became unstable, and she fell asleep. I was just about to tidy her clothes when you came in."
Mayfair nodded.
"I see."
"Do you really understand?"
"Really." Mayfair nodded again. "Wendy came for a follow-up appointment. There was an accident during her treatment. You were just about to help her tidy her clothes when I happened to see it. That's it."
She spoke perfectly, with logical and clear reasoning, but the more Wayne listened, the more something seemed off.
Wayne said.
"You don't believe me."
Mayfair paused for a moment.
I believe you.
"You don't believe me."
I believe you.
Mayfair's lips curled up slightly, very lightly and quickly, so much so that Wayne would have missed it if he hadn't been staring at her.
"Your Excellency," she spoke, her voice softer than before. "You chased after me just to tell me this?"
"Yes."
"To prove he's not a pervert?"
Wayne was silent for a moment.
"Yes."
The corridor was quiet, as was Mayfair, except for the wind blowing from the courtyard, which lifted a corner of her headscarf.
"Your Excellency," she said.
"Um."
Have you ever thought about this?
"What?"
"The very act of chasing after me to explain this..." she paused, "...makes you seem even more guilty than if you didn't explain at all?"
Wayne was stunned.
Mayfair straightened the headscarf that had been blown askew by the wind.
"Your Excellency, I must return now."
She turned to leave.
"Wait a moment."
Mayfair stopped.
"Do you have anything else to explain?"
Wayne opened his mouth, then closed it again. He realized that no matter what he said, it seemed like he was covering up something in Mayfair's eyes. Explaining was a cover-up, not explaining was tacit agreement, chasing after him was a sign of guilt, not chasing after him was a sign of indifference. Standing in the corridor, he suddenly felt that nothing he did was right.
"Never mind," he said. "You can go."
Mayfair nodded and turned to leave.
Wayne could only sigh helplessly.
Everything was arranged by the goddess.
