Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 55 The Demon Hena
The room went dark the moment the door closed.
The curtains were drawn shut by an invisible force, leaving only a sliver of grayish-white sunlight that slanted in and fell upon Wayne.
Sophie looked up.
Wayne took a step forward.
The girl on the bed moved.
Her nose wrinkled, and her whole face contorted as if she had smelled something disgusting.
"Someone from the church?"
Wayne smiled but didn't say anything.
Sophie smiled.
"I knew I could smell a stench through the door; turns out it was church people coming to get themselves killed."

Once Wayne had completely stepped out of the light and Sophie could clearly see the person in front of her, her tone changed.
"Looking like that, how did she end up working for the church?" She tilted her head, her voice carrying a hint of something else. "What a pity."
She moved forward half an inch, slowly spread her legs, and then tapped her fingers on the side of the bed.
"Want to have some fun with me?"
Wayne's gaze did not fall on her.
He glanced around the room, his gaze settling on the bedside table, where a pillow emanated the strongest water elemental energy.
Oh! Innocent pillow...
Sophie stopped pointing and looked at Wayne.
"What, you don't dare?" She chuckled, a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth, the glint in her eyes quickening. "Or perhaps, the people of the church don't even have this much guts?"
Wayne took a step forward.
Sophie's smile widened as she opened her arms, her bare body starkly white in the dim room, clearly revealing the outline of her chest.
"That's more like it." Her voice softened, then became hooked. "I'll teach you something fun, much more interesting than the scriptures you recite in church."
"What's your name?" Sophie blinked. "You have to let me know who's playing with me, right?"
Wayne sat down on the edge of the bed.
The mattress sank in, and Sophie's body swayed. Her eyes brightened, and the corners of her mouth widened further.
"That's more like it!"
She reached out and placed her hand on Wayne's hand.
Wayne gripped her hand in return and stared intently at her.
"Henna, right?"
Sophie's smile vanished completely.
"How do you know my name!"
Wayne didn't let go; instead, he gripped it even tighter.
Sophie tried to break free, but she couldn't; the force was so great that it didn't seem like that of a priest at all.
"How did you know!"
The voice became even shriller, trembling with fear.
"tell me!!!"
It screamed, and the whole room shook.
The oil lamp flame suddenly shot up and then shrank back down, the shadows on the wall danced wildly as if in a frenzy, the bed sheet was lifted up by an unseen force, and feathers flew all over the room.
However, Wayne remained unmoved.
Wayne knew the rules of demons. When a demon's name was known, it meant it could be exorcised. A name was an anchor, a chain connecting the world of the living to the abyss. The church members, knowing the demon's true name, could pull it from its possessing body as easily as removing a nail.
Hena clearly knew this as well.
It cried out even louder.
"Let me go! Let me go!!!"
Sophie's fingers grew long and thin, her nails turned black, and she bent them into claw shapes before suddenly swinging them at Wayne.
Wayne raised his other hand and caught it.
Both of her hands were gripped.
Sophie, or rather Hena, found herself unable to move.
"Impossible." Its voice became rough and hoarse, not like it came from a human throat. "You're just a priest, how could you have such strength!"
Wayne looked at it.
"Is it a problem that the priest is stronger?"
Hena's eyes widened.
Wayne exerted force and twisted downwards.
A snap.
Sophie's right arm dislocated at the shoulder joint, and her arm hung limply down. Hena let out a loud scream that carried all the way outside the door.
"You...you dare!"
Wayne twisted the left side again, expressionless.
Click.
My left arm is also dislocated.
"ah!!!"
"Sister! What's wrong with sister!" Ace's voice came from the hallway, followed by the sound of a wheelchair hitting the doorframe. "Get out of the way! Get out of the way, all of you!"
Celine's voice came down.
"Ace! Don't go in!"
"Mother! Can't you hear her voice? She's calling!"
"From the moment she woke up this morning, she's no longer your sister!" Celine's voice was louder than his. "If you want your sister to recover, don't cause trouble!"
The corridor fell silent for a moment.
Wayne released his left hand, took out a crucifix from his pocket, placed it on Sophie's forehead, and began to chant.
"In the name of the goddess, I command you to leave this body."
White smoke began to rise from where the silver cross had been applied to her skin. Now both of Hena's arms were dislocated, and she was unable to resist.
"It's no use!" it shrieked. "Without a contract, without holy water, without sacred texts, even if you know my name, you can't drive me away!"
Wayne looked at it.
"Who says I don't have holy water?"
Water elements began to condense in his palm, and the pale blue water flowed down the cross, seeping into Sophie's skin.
The white smoke turned into black smoke.
Hena's voice changed, but the change was first filled with fear, and then... the last syllable rose slightly, like an uncontrollable groan.
"This is impossible! This isn't holy water, this..."
Before it could finish speaking, Sophie's body suddenly arched and began to convulse.
"So what if you have holy water!" The face twitched as it looked at Wayne. "Go ahead, let's see if this girl can handle it! Come on if you dare!"
Wien's cross paused.
It wasn't because of Hena's words, it was because of the panel.
He glanced down at it.
【Hena】
[Abyss Nightmare - High-Rank Demon]
Current state: My brain isn't working very well.
[Note: When the magic was activated, she thought she would be burned. She had experienced exorcism rituals at the church and knew what that felt like. She was prepared to endure it all.]
[Note 2: She had lived for four hundred years and had never experienced anything like this. Her expression was incredibly complex; her brows were furrowed, but the corners of her mouth were slightly upturned. She quickly suppressed her smile, forcing a pained expression back onto her face. She thought she was acting, but she didn't realize she had given herself away.]
[Note 3: She's waiting for you to continue, even hoping you'll increase the force; this reverse psychology is her last vestige of dignity.]
Wayne glanced down at the panel, then at Sophie's face, which was filled with pain.
He stopped.
The cross was removed from her forehead, the water element dissipated, her palms were clean, and the room was quiet for a moment, with only the girl's heavy breathing remaining.
Hena was stunned.
"Why...did you stop?"
Wayne put the cross back into his arms, stood up, and patted off non-existent dust from his robes.
"I'm not continuing."
Hena stared wide-eyed at Wayne with an incredulous look.
Why?
Wayne didn't answer. He turned and walked towards the door, his steps unhurried, as if he were really leaving.
"Hey!" Hena's voice changed; it was no longer hoarse or rough, but sharp as if someone had stepped on her tail. "Human! You stop right there!"
Wayne didn't stop.
Hena heard a creak from the bed behind her, followed by the sound of bare feet on the floor. She jumped off the bed, walked barefoot over the mess on the floor, and caught up with him in a few quick steps, blocking his way.
She blocked the door with her body.
"Why are you leaving?" she gasped, her chest heaving. "You're just going to quit halfway through your exorcism?"
Wayne looked at her.
"I'm not capable enough, so I won't try to exorcise it."
Hena's lips twitched.
"Incompetent? You clearly just now..."
"Clearly what?"
Hena shut up.
