Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 390 Departure
The next day arrived.
Wayne spent last night screaming in pain.
Just yesterday, he used the fifth-tier body-tempering potion that the deputy tower master of the mage tower had given him.
From the moment the medicine entered his throat, intense pain swept over his entire body like a tidal wave.
The tempering process lasted for a full five hours.
During this process, he even fell into a coma three times.
If he hadn't had Tiffany set up a sound-blocking magic circle around the room beforehand, and had Ella guard the door, the servants of the entire Marquis's mansion would probably have been alarmed by his suppressed roar and thought something terrible had happened in the main house.
It was this magic circle that blocked the spread of sound, allowing those outside the courtyard to remain unaware of the ordeal of the previous night and sleep peacefully through the night.
As dawn broke, the tempering process finally came to an end.
Wayne got up from the bathtub.
He was completely naked.
His muscles were more refined and fluid, as if they had been sculpted by a master sculptor with the finest carving techniques, each inch perfectly proportioned.
He clenched his fist and looked at his entire body.
After this tempering, he finally understood why the path of body cultivation is the ultimate goal for all warriors. Because without honing their physical bodies to the extreme, they cannot break through to a higher sixth rank.
Even if drugs and external forces are forcibly applied, the body will explode and die because it cannot withstand that force.
After being cleansed by the fifth-tier body-tempering potion last night, his body has finally reached the baseline for withstanding higher levels of power.
As for a breakthrough in magic, Wayne was not in a hurry.
He could sense that the opportunity to break through to the fifth rank in water magic hadn't arrived yet. That threshold couldn't be broken through by brute force; he needed to wait for the right moment.
When Wayne changed his clothes and stepped out the door.
The sky was fully bright by now.
As soon as he stepped out the door, he saw Ella leaning against the outer wall beside the door, her head nodding as she dozed off.
Ella was still wearing the same clothes she wore last night, with several creases on the cuffs and hem from being worn overnight. Clearly, she had been keeping watch here all night.
Wayne paused for a moment.
He bent down and gently lifted her into his arms. The moment Ella's body was suspended in the air, she groggily opened her eyes.
"...Master? Are you alright?"
"Okay, all done." Wayne carried her back inside and placed her on his bed. "I'm fine now, you can go to sleep."
Ella's gaze followed his retreating figure, and she softly responded, "...Mm."
Her eyelids quickly drooped again.
After calming Ella down, Wayne headed to the front yard.
There were already people waiting in the front yard.
Falcon stood in the center of the courtyard, with her seven-person squad behind her. They had all changed into black and gray outfits suitable for outdoor activities, with uniform short blades and communication crystals hanging at their waists.
When she saw Wayne come out, she took the initiative to greet him.
"Morning, my lord!"
"Yes, good morning."
On the other side, Alice also got up early to prepare for her departure: "Brother, be careful on the road. The situation in the City of Eternal Sleep is unclear. If you can investigate, do so. If you can't find anything, retreat. There's no need to fight it out."
Wayne took the bundle, weighed it in his hand, and found it wasn't heavy. It probably contained dry rations and a few bottles of emergency potions.
"Okay, I'll leave things at home to you."
"Yes. I'll keep an eye on it."
Without further delay, Wayne turned to the falcon.
"let's go."
Falcon nodded, but as soon as she turned around, she paused. "Master, aren't we waiting for Miss Emily?"
"Haven't she always been here?"
As soon as she finished speaking, a slight ripple came from the shadows in the corner of the courtyard. Emily peeked halfway out of the shadows: "Hehe, you're quite perceptive, sir. I've been waiting here for quite a while. You just hadn't seen me."
Falcon glanced at her but said nothing more.
Wayne voluntarily got into the carriage: "Let's go, we need to pick up another group of people before we set off."
Emily was in the carriage, along with Falcon.
Falcon asked, "Who is it?"
"Students from the Mage Tower. Yesterday, the deputy tower master approached me, saying he hoped I could take a few students to the outskirts of the City of Eternal Sleep for training and to gain practical experience. I have already agreed."
Falcon's brow twitched slightly, but she did not raise any objections.
The group walked through the still-sleeping capital city streets in the early morning. The city gates came into view, and five young figures stood waiting for them in the morning light beside the official road outside the gates.
The leader was a girl with a high ponytail, wearing a short, dark blue robe for ease of movement, and a short staff at her waist. Seeing the carriage stop, she took a few steps forward, nodded slightly to Wayne inside, and said crisply, "Hello, you must be Wayne, the head of the Black Order? I'm the leader of the Mage Tower's current expedition team. Just call me Rachel."
As soon as she finished speaking, a young boy behind her muttered unhappily, "That teacher is really something, making us follow a priest. If you ask me, we can solve the problems on the outskirts of the City of Eternal Sleep ourselves."
Rachel frowned slightly, turned around and glanced at him: "Colin, have you forgotten what the teacher told you before you left?"
Colin shrank back when she glanced at him. Although he was still somewhat unwilling, he stopped muttering and turned his head away, kicking a pebble on the side of the road with the tip of his boot.
Rachel turned back to meet Wayne's gaze. "I'm sorry, Colin is a bit blunt, but he meant no harm. The five of us are all slated for deployment by the Mage Tower, and I'll be leading the team this time, following your instructions."
Just as Wayne was about to say a few polite words, a figure with a light blonde high ponytail suddenly took a step forward from the crowd.
"Mr. Wayne? It really is you!"
Wayne's gaze lingered on her face for a moment before he quickly recognized it—the woman from the clothing store on the Walk of Fame who had snatched a Moonlight Dress from him.
Ashley, the eldest daughter of the Victoria family.
"...Miss Ashley? What are you doing here?"
Ashley laughed, "I should be asking you that. The deputy tower master said he'd assigned us a team leader, but I never expected it to be you."
Rachel glanced back and forth between the two.
"You two know each other?"
Ashley naturally picked up the conversation.
"I had the pleasure of meeting him once. In a clothing store on Hollywood Boulevard, Mr. Wayne and I both took a liking to a dress, and in the end, he bought it and gave it to his sister. At that moment, I thought that someone who could be so good to his sister couldn't be too bad."
After listening, Rachel nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
After Ashley finished speaking, he turned to the side and pulled a girl who had been standing quietly beside him forward half a step: "By the way, Mr. Wayne, let me introduce you. This is my sister, Ophina. She is also a student of the Mage Tower, a super genius who just enrolled this year. She came with us on this training trip."
