Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 22 Showing Off One's Skills
A rustling sound echoed through the woods.
The mountain king snake emerged from the darkness.
It had black and white stripes, was tens of meters long, and as thick as a bucket. It stood upright, its triangular head swaying slightly, its scarlet tongue exhaling the bloody smell in the air.
The villagers screamed in terror and retreated.
Wayne stood still.
The firelight danced on his bare torso, his blond hair fluttered slightly in the night wind, and his azure eyes were fixed on the giant snake before him.
The priest's robe was tied around his waist, and he looked clean and neat.
"Mr. Wayne," Lillian leaned closer, her eyes sparkling, "do you need any help?"
The panel popped up.
Lillian
[Current Status: Divine Favor - Petrification Ability Tempering Its Arrival]
[Note: While she asked if you needed help, her eyes kept scanning you up and down. From your chest muscles to your abs, from your abs to your waist, from your waist to... In short, she was very lusting.]
Mayfair
[Current Status: Undead Chosen One]
[Note: She did react. Not in that sense, but in a combat response. She prepared her necromancy spells, ready to act at any moment. But she chose to stand still, waiting for you to speak.]
Wayne glanced at Lillian.
"Find an opportunity to make a move."
Lillian blinked and smiled.
"Okay!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the mountain king snake moved.
The enormous body lunged forward, opening its blood-red maw to bite down on Wayne. A foul stench filled the air; the mouth was large enough to swallow a whole person.
Wayne rolled to the side.
The giant snake's fangs grazed his shoulder, carving a deep furrow in the mud.
Wayne flipped over and leaped up, punching the snake.
The fist landed on the scales with a dull thud. The snake's body swayed, and tiny cracks appeared on its scales. The mountain king snake winced in pain and lashed out with its tail.
Wayne raised his hand to block.
The immense force swept him away, sending him crashing into a large tree. The trunk snapped, and Wayne landed on the ground, rolling over to his feet.
The mountain king snake pounced again.
Wayne went to meet him.
Man and snake locked in combat. Fists slammed into scales, the snake's tail swept across his body, and the giant snake's fangs grazed his skin several times. Wayne's punches grew heavier, but the snake's strength also increased.
Evenly matched.
Moments later, Wayne began to be at a disadvantage.
His breathing became heavy, and the wounds on his body multiplied, with new wounds appearing next to old ones. The mountain king snake's attacks grew increasingly fierce, its massive body lunging forward time and again, forcing him to retreat repeatedly.
The villagers stood at a distance, watching in stunned silence.
Lillian's eyes grew brighter and brighter, and her hands began to glow with a faint gray light.
Emma was so anxious that she kept stamping her feet.
"Owner!"
The mountain king snake sensed the weakness in its prey.
It stood upright, its triangular head tilted back slightly, and opened its blood-red maw—the posture for its final strike.
In that very instant.
Ella and Emma activated their magic.
The fire wall and the ice wall separated the two, and in that instant, they bought Wayne a precious opportunity.
A moment is enough.
Wayne flipped over and jumped up.
He rushed to the giant snake, grabbed its upper and lower jaws with both hands, and dug his fingers into the gaps between its scales.
Muscle tension.
Veins bulging.
"Lillian!"
A gray beam of light shot from the side and landed on the head of the mountain king snake.
Soon, the giant snake's movements began to slow down.
The scales turned grayish-white, and petrification began at the head and gradually spread downwards.
A bottle of deadly poison was pulled out.
He originally intended to save it for something else, but the petrification didn't last long, so he couldn't worry about it anymore.
He used his teeth to open the bottle stopper.
Under the control of water magic, poison was continuously poured into the giant snake's mouth.
He let go and jumped backward.
The mountain king snake stood still, motionless.
The enormous body began to convulse.
The red color spread across the snake's body, turning the giant serpent into a stiff sculpture. Then came more violent convulsions, the scales began to crack, and black liquid seeped from the cracks.
A foul, fishy stench filled the air.
A few breaths later, the giant snake's body began to disintegrate, its scales fell off, and its flesh dissolved. In less than a quarter of an hour, the giant snake, which was more than ten meters long, completely disappeared.
Only a pool of black blood remained on the ground.
The villagers knelt on the ground, not daring to lift their heads.
"The mountain god...the mountain god is dead..."
"God...God's messenger..."
"This is a miracle...it's a miracle..."
Marco stood rooted to the spot, his hand gripping the knife trembling slightly. He had guarded the border for fifteen years, witnessing countless magical beasts, but he had never seen such a fighting style. Every punch landed squarely, a head-on collision, and finally, he pulled out some unknown potion to melt the snake.
Is this still a priest?
Mayfair stood still, her purple eyes showing a hint of approval.
Ella and Emma stood beside Wayne, supporting him on either side. The two girls' eyes shone brightly, their faces filled with excitement.
"Owner!"
"Master won!"
Wayne looked down at them.
"Who let you rush out?"
Emma blinked.
"We want to help our master."
Ella nodded softly beside her.
"Master is in danger... Of course we have to come out."
If they hadn't blocked him just now, he might have actually been bitten by the snake. When they rushed out, they didn't consider their own safety at all.
Emma suddenly reached out and poked Wayne's chest.
"Master, you're so hard."
Wayne looked down at her.
Emma blinked.
"I mean muscles."
"fine."
Emma suddenly leaned over and licked the wound on his shoulder.
Wayne was stunned.
Emma looked up and licked her lips.
"Salty."
Ella stood there, stunned.
"Emma!"
"What's wrong?" Emma blinked. "Master is bleeding, so I'm licking it clean for him."
Ella stood to the side, her face flushed red. She bit her lip and leaned closer.
Wayne reached out and blocked her.
"Alright."
Ella froze, her face turning even redder.
Wayne lowered his head, looking at the two little ones in front of him. Ella's eyes were full of shyness, her eyelashes trembled violently, her lips were pursed, and her fingers were twisted together. Emma stood beside her, her dark eyes sparkling, and the corners of her mouth were already curved into a smile.
"Didn't you realize your sister was teasing you?" Wayne said.
Ella paused for a moment, then turned to look at Emma.
Emma chuckled.
"My sister is so stupid."
Ella's face flushed bright red instantly.
"Emma!"
She raised her hand to hit her sister, but Emma laughed and dodged to the side. The two little girls circled around Wayne, one chasing and the other dodging, their footsteps crackling in the firelight.
Emma dodged and shouted.
"Master, look at my sister! She's so fierce!"
Ella pressed on even harder.
"You still dare to talk! You still dare to talk!"
Emma suddenly stopped, turned around and hugged Wayne's leg, hiding her face behind his leg.
"Master, help me!"
Ella caught up and stood in front of Wayne, her hands raised, unsure of where to go. She looked at Wayne, then at her younger sister hiding behind his legs, her face flushed red.
"You, you come out here..."
Emma peeked out from behind Wayne's legs.
"Not coming out."
"Come out here!"
"I won't come out."
Ella was so anxious she kept stamping her feet, but her sister was hiding behind her master, so she couldn't just reach out and grab her.
Wayne looked down at Emma, who was clinging to his leg, and then at Ella, who stood in front of him looking helpless.
"Alright," he said. "We'll settle the score when we get back."
