Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 126 Problem Solving
The church foyer was quiet for a moment.
Wilford pointed at Leon.
"Um...Bishop Wayne, is the child a boy or a girl?"
He himself realized something was wrong as soon as he said it.
But he couldn't help asking.
This concerns the Wilford family bloodline, his grandson or granddaughter; even if the other party is a demon, it is still hope.
Emma stood to the side, still clutching half a loaf of bread in her hand. She tilted her head, her eyes darting over Wilford's face.
"Mayor."
"Um?"
"Is the child in your belly related to you?"
Wilford's throat moved.
"That...that guy is an intruder." His voice rose a half octave, as if he were justifying himself, "As the mayor, this is something I should be concerned about."
"Oh." Emma nodded, stuffed a piece of bread into her mouth, took a bite, chewed it a couple of times, then looked up again. "What does that have to do with whether it's a boy or a girl?"
Wilford was completely speechless.
He couldn't utter a single word.
Emma wouldn't let it go.
"Mayor."
"Um……"
Can men really give birth?
This time it was Leon's turn to be embarrassed.
He knelt on the ground, his face, which was already pale, turned red. His gaze drifted to the ground, wishing the floor would open a crack so he could crawl into it.
Ai stretched out her hand and tugged at Emma's sleeve.
Emma.
"Um?"
"Stop talking."
Why?
"Because...because..." Ella stammered for a long time, "This is not something a child should ask."
“I’m not a child anymore,” Emma said matter-of-factly. “Besides, I’m asking a serious question. Whether men can have children is basic physiological knowledge. Vera once said, if you don’t understand, you should ask.”
Ella opened her mouth, only to find that she couldn't refute it.
Wayne gave an awkward laugh.
"Children speak without restraint, children speak without restraint."
Wilford leaned forward.
"Mr. Naveen, what should we do with Leon?"
Wayne closed the scroll and placed it on the table.
"Let him go back to where he came from. If we let him stay in the church any longer, the goddess will be unhappy."
Ace rushed up from the side and stood in front of Leon.
"Father, he is my companion, I cannot abandon him. I will take care of him!"
Leon knelt on the ground, his head turned to one side.
"Who said I need your help?"
Ace turned around, squatted down, and looked at Leon's face.
"Angang, you weren't like this before!"
Leon's face flushed red.
Wilford clenched his fists.
"The Fist of Justice!"
He punched Ace.
Ace sat on the ground, covering his face, one hand supporting him, his knees together, looking like a wronged little wife. He looked up, his eyes red-rimmed, his lips trembling slightly.
"Father, why did you hit me?"
Wilford's fist was still trembling in mid-air.
"Please don't corrupt my values as a father."
He was about to start hitting again.
Leon lunged from the ground and stood in front of Ace.
"Stop fighting! Stop fighting!"
Ace peeked out from behind.
"Ang ang..."
Leon turned around.
"Don't speak."
Leon looked up at Wilford, his eyes red and his lips trembling, but his voice was steady.
"Mayor, hit me if you must. It's my fault for dragging Ace into this, it's my fault for bringing shame upon the Wilford family, it's my fault..."
Wilford's fist froze in mid-air.
He slowly lowered his hand.
"What a tragedy!"
On the other side, Wayne, Emma, and Ella stood in a row, and all three rolled their eyes at the same time.
Emma rolled her eyes the most, her eyeballs almost reaching the back of her head.
Ella rolled her eyes the most subtly, only halfway before pulling them back, but the twitching at the corner of her mouth betrayed her.
Wayne rolled his eyes the most gracefully; after all, he was a priest, and even rolling his eyes had to be done with a sense of ceremony.
Three pairs of polluted eyes watched the farce unfold before them.
Wayne's fist got a little hard.
He was afraid he wouldn't be able to hold back if he didn't ask someone to leave.
Wayne took a deep breath and called out towards the door.
"Thomassen!"
The door was pushed open, and Thomason poked half his head in.
"grown ups?"
"see a visitor out."
Thomason paused for a moment, his gaze sweeping around the room, seeing Leon kneeling on the ground, Ace crouching beside him, and Wilford standing in the middle with his fist raised.
He didn't ask anything.
"Okay."
Ace opened his mouth as if to say something, but after seeing Wayne's expression, he closed his mouth again.
"Lord Wayne."
"Um."
"So Leon... will he stay in Frosttown?"
Wayne looked at him.
"You can stay in Frosttown, but don't take it to the church."
Ace nodded.
"clear."
Ace got up from the ground and reached out to help Leon up. Leon tried to dodge but couldn't, and Ace pulled him up from the ground. The two stumbled a couple of steps, bumped into each other, and then quickly bounced away.
Thomason stood in the doorway, a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth.
I don't know why, but I really want to punch them both.
"Please, everyone!"
Wilford walked to the church door, stopped, and turned around.
"Bishop Wayne."
"Um."
"Thank you for today."
Wayne nodded.
"It's my duty."
Wilford wanted to say something more. He glanced at Ace and Leon standing below the steps, then at the tightly closed church door behind Wayne, and swallowed back the words that were on the tip of his tongue.
"Then we'll be going now."
Take care.
Wilford turned and walked down the steps. As he passed Ace, he paused, glanced at him, said nothing, and continued walking. Ace kept his head down and waited until Wilford had gone several steps before pulling Leon along to follow.
The three people, one in front and two behind, walked out the door.
Thomason stood at the church door, watching the three figures disappear around the street corner before closing the door.
He turned around and looked at Wayne.
"grown ups."
"Um."
"What should we say to the believers outside?"
Wayne leaned back in his chair and said lazily.
"Tell them that Sir Leon, under the guidance of the bishop, has sincerely repented and reformed."
Thomason's eyes lit up.
"this one?"
"That's it."
"What if they ask Leon what he's here for?"
"Just say that he came to apologize to the goddess."
"Then... what's in Leon's belly..."
Wayne glanced at him.
Thomason swallowed the rest of his sentence.
"Understood."
He asked, still puzzled, before turning away.
"grown ups."
"Um."
"That Leon...is he truly repentant?"
Wayne did not answer immediately.
The panel popped up at this point.
[Leon in a state of repentance]
[Current Status: Skeptical. He believes everything you say, but he doesn't believe the goddess will forgive him. Not because you're wrong, but because he can't forgive his cousin. For ten years, he's dreamed of her every night. Sometimes it's a nightmare, sometimes a pleasant dream. The pleasant dreams are more terrifying than the nightmares because after waking up, he feels like life is nothing but prostitution.]
[Note: What he needs is not forgiveness, but letting go. Forgiveness is given by others, letting go is given by oneself. He cannot do that yet.]
After looking at the panel, Wayne turned his gaze back to the panel.
"He will be sincere."
Thomason nodded, pushed open the door, and went out.
