Primordial Era: Taibai, the Poison Master of Yaochi, drives a Sage insane!

Chapter 24 Li Bai Offers a Plan to the Nine Phoenixes

I'm currently reading Chapter 24, "Li Taibai Offers Advice to Jiufeng," and I'm completely engrossed in it.

Upon hearing this, Jiufeng was immediately moved, considering the current state of the Wu Clan, which was gradually declining and its members were displaced.

The Wu tribe is incapable of reproduction, and its population is gradually declining and isolated. If it is besieged by the forces of the sages, it will be completely wiped out sooner or later.

Alliances formed through marriage, equal agreements, and joint governance of the world are indeed the only way out for the Wu tribe.

In Jiufeng's heart, the clan comes first, and the alliance is paramount; she is free from the affectations and constraints of romantic love that came with later generations.

In the eyes of the Wu tribe, marriage is never about a woman submitting to another or being possessed, but rather a covenant between two powerful peoples and two major tribes, an alliance of offense and defense, sharing honor and disgrace, and the most stable bond in a chaotic world.

After a long period of contemplation, Jiufeng slowly raised her eyes, her voice cold yet unwavering: "The ancient shamans were originally one, and their alliances through marriage are based on old covenants. If Zhuanxu is truly committed to forming an alliance to resist the sage's coercion and to divide the world equally, then a marriage alliance is not out of the question. However, this matter concerns the survival of both races, so it must not be made public. It must be done in secret, with the covenant made discreetly, and for the time being, Xuanyuan and Chiyou must not discover anything about it."

Bai Liang's father was overjoyed, but remained outwardly calm and bowed in agreement.

A marriage scam with ulterior motives was thus set in motion.

The great war between Jiuli and Xuanyuan has now reached a stalemate. If Jiufeng is killed in one fell swoop, the great shamans of the Wu tribe will be leaderless, which will inevitably lead to the collapse of Jiuli.

You must know that Jiufeng is the only great witch with a primordial spirit. Once Jiufeng dies, all the other great witches are just brutes.

Bai Liang's father settled down, his expression solemn. He stopped his empty probing and went straight to finalizing the details of the alliance with Jiu Feng. Jiu Feng's gaze was cold as she waited for the other party to state the terms of the alliance.

Bai Liang's father spoke slowly, each word resonating deeply.

"Great Witch Jiufeng, in your wisdom, my clan patriarch Zhuanxu sincerely wishes to forge an alliance with the Witch Clan, using marriage as a bond to forever maintain the friendship between the Witch people. To show our utmost sincerity, the patriarch has already prepared a generous gift, which he will personally present on the wedding day."

"This is the Slaughtering Witch Sword, currently in Xuanyuan's hands. The clan leader believes that the Witch Clan and the Human Clan should be allies, and they absolutely cannot abandon the Witch Clan to return to the Immortal Sect. Therefore, the clan leader will take this opportunity to borrow the Slaughtering Witch Sword and present it to the Great Witch as a betrothal gift!"

Jiufeng, who had been calm, suddenly narrowed her eyes upon hearing this, her heart skipped a beat, and she could not hide her emotion as she asked in a deep voice, "Is this true? Xuanyuan has allied with the Chan Sect and is backed by Yuanshi, so it is difficult for him to be fooled. Zhuanxu is actually willing to give this sword to my Wu Clan?"

Bai Liang's father cupped his hands and answered firmly, "Absolutely no falsehood. My clan patriarch knows that without utmost sincerity, it is difficult to reassure the hearts of the Wu tribe, let alone talk about jointly governing the world. This Wu-slaying Sword is the first pledge of the Wu people's alliance, without reservation, to show openness and honesty."

"After the marriage alliance, the clan chief will seize the opportunity to attack Xuanyuan from behind, thus ensuring Xuanyuan's defeat. Then, the Jiuli will form an alliance with the clan chief, and the shamans will jointly govern the world and propagate their races. The clan chief will marry the great shaman, while the human race will marry the shamans and the Jiuli to produce offspring. Once this is accomplished, the shamans will be indistinguishable, and they will jointly govern the world. Even a sage would be powerless against them!"

Jiufeng took a deep breath, and the composure of the Great Witch of the Wilderness gradually eased.

The Witch Clan is gradually declining and is under increasing pressure. Their greatest worry is the Witch-Slaying Sword. If they can obtain this sword, they will no longer be in danger of being passively controlled.

After a moment of contemplation, Jiufeng, without further hesitation, set the date and the bottom line of the alliance: "Since Zhuanxu is so sincere, our Wu tribe agrees to the marriage alliance. We will hold the Wu people's marriage ceremony one month from now, conduct the ceremony in secret, and secretly establish the alliance, without revealing a single word to outsiders, in order to avoid the eyes and ears of Xuanyuan and all the immortals and gods."

The two then discussed and agreed on the core issues of the alliance, and made a mutual pledge.

Firstly, the marriage between Zhuanxu and Jiufeng was not an ordinary marriage between men and women, but an equal alliance between the two top powers of the Wu tribe and the human tribe. They were not subordinate to each other, nor did they suppress each other, and they prioritized the great cause of their tribes.

Secondly, the two sides joined forces to secretly check and balance the Xuanyuan forces, and worked together to resist the interference of the Chan Sect in the internal affairs of the human race, so that the human race could completely break free from the control of the sages and no longer become a pawn of the immortal sects or an appendage of the sages.

Thirdly, after the Battle of Zhuolu, they joined forces to defeat Xuanyuan and break the Chan Sect's plan, thus defining the boundaries of heaven and earth. The Wu tribe and the human tribe divided the land and shared the destiny equally. The Wu tribe and the human tribe stood side by side and jointly governed the primordial world.

Fourth, the alliance was carried out in secret, with the Wu tribe's fighting force being secretly mobilized to cooperate with the Zhuanxu tribe. When the time was right, they would seize control of the human race in one fell swoop.

Fifth, after the matter is accomplished, the Wu tribe and the human tribe will be completely united by intermarriage, and from then on, there will be no distinction between the Wu tribe and the human tribe, and they will be united into a single ethnic group!

All the terms were finalized, a verbal agreement was made, and the two tribes secretly formed a defensive alliance.

These conditions were completely irresistible to Jiufeng; they were an absolute boon, and could absolutely avert the crisis of the Wu Clan's annihilation!

From then on, only children born to humans and witches existed in the world, and the two races were no longer divided into different groups.

Bai Liang's father was secretly delighted, but outwardly he respectfully agreed, repeatedly stating Zhuanxu's intentions, saying that the clan leader was determined to break free from the sage's shackles and only wished to use the power of the witch clan to re-establish human autonomy and jointly create a prosperous age for the witch people.

Jiufeng readily agreed, her heart filled with thoughts of the survival of her clan and the revival of the Wu tribe.

After the agreement was reached, Bai Liang's father immediately took his leave and rushed back to the Shaohao tribe to report back.

Not long after Bai Liang's father left, Li Taibai immediately appeared to request an audience. Now was the time of great battle, and the aura of calamity was immense, so this was the best opportunity. Even a sage could not foresee everything.

The witch soldiers on duty sensed that the newcomer had an extraordinary aura and dared not make a judgment without authorization, so they immediately went inside to report.

A moment later, Jiufeng sat upright in the main tent. Upon hearing that a strange hermit was requesting an audience, she felt a little suspicious and calmly gave the order: "Summon him in."

Li Bai slowly entered the hall, bowed calmly, and displayed a composed and dignified demeanor.

Jiufeng's sharp eyes swept him up and down, her voice cold and scrutinizing: "Who are you? Why have you trespassed into my Wu Clan's territory without permission? What brings you here?"

Taibai calmly replied, "I am Taibai Jinxing, and I come from the Heavenly Court."

"People from Heaven?"

The moment those four words reached her ears, a chilling killing intent suddenly surged from Jiufeng's body, and the faint phantom of a nine-headed divine bird appeared and disappeared. Her eyes instantly turned icy cold: "The Heavenly Court and my Wu Clan have always been distant, even quite estranged. How dare you, people of the Heavenly Court, come here so rashly?"

Taibai remained calm and composed, bowing respectfully: "I urge the Great Witch Nine Phoenixes to temporarily restrain her killing intent. This visit is not to provoke conflict, but solely for the safety of the Great Witch herself and the survival of the Witch Clan."

The killing intent in Jiufeng's eyes momentarily faltered, her brows furrowing in surprise and doubt: "What is the meaning behind these words? Does it concern the survival of myself and the Witch Clan?"

"This matter is extremely confidential and must not be discussed in public. Any leak would lead to an irreparable disaster."

Taibai solemnly said, "I humbly request that the Great Shaman grant me a secluded place to be alone, so that I may explain the details in detail."

Jiufeng stared at Taibai, her eyes deep and full of wariness and suspicion: "You'd better not try to fool me. If you dare to play tricks on this witch, don't blame me for turning ruthless and making it difficult for you to leave this place."

Taibai smiled calmly: "Great Shaman, rest assured. If what I have said is all false and displeases you, Great Shaman, I will do as you please, whether you kill me or spare me, without uttering a single complaint."

After a moment of silence, seeing that Li Taibai's expression was open and honest, unlike a cunning person, Jiufeng finally suppressed her murderous intent and said coldly, "Just tell me what it is."

Taibai spoke slowly and deliberately, his tone solemn: "I have come here for a very important matter—one that concerns the life and death of the entire Wu tribe. I hope the Great Wu will take this matter seriously."

Upon hearing this, Jiufeng dared not take it lightly any longer. Her expression suddenly became solemn. After pondering for a moment, she raised her hand and gestured in the air. An ancient and vast palace, imbued with the essence of Pangu, appeared out of thin air. It was none other than the Pangu Palace, the supreme treasure of the Wu Clan.

Having just finished speaking with Zhuanxu's envoy, Jiufeng was feeling somewhat uneasy. Now that Li Taibai had arrived, Jiufeng had a vague feeling that Li Taibai was up to something important.

"Fine, I'll trust you this once. Come in with me."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jiufeng stepped into the hall first, followed closely by Taibai.

The palace is completely isolated from all outside observation, and the array seals off speech and aura. Even a sage could not glean a single word of secret conversation from inside the palace.

Once inside, Jiufeng cut to the chase, coldly asking, "Now you can tell me what it is?"

Taibai looked directly at Jiufeng and asked without beating around the bush, "Great Witch Jiufeng, have you already made an agreement with Zhuanxu of the Shaohao tribe to form a marriage alliance?"

Jiufeng shuddered, her face filled with shock: "This matter was discussed in a secret room, and the date was just set. There's absolutely no way an outsider could know! How did you find out?"

"I have come here specifically for this matter."

Taibai's expression grew increasingly solemn. "The Great Shaman is unaware that this seemingly equal alliance and co-governance between the shamans and the people is actually a colossal conspiracy, a deadly trap specifically designed to scheme against the Great Shaman and the shaman clan!"

Jiufeng's heart sank, and her face instantly turned cold: "Really? You can't just say things like that!"

Taibai slowly said, "Zhuanxu plotted to gain the greatest credit in the Battle of Zhuolu. Once he succeeded in this, he could rule the human race alone after Xuanyuan. However, he knew that the Great Witch was the pillar of the Witch Clan and possessed immense fighting power. He knew that to capture the enemy, one must first capture the king. This was Zhuanxu's plan to capture the king. Therefore, he pretended to propose a marriage alliance, promising that the Witches would jointly govern the world and break free from the control of the Sages. In reality, he harbored evil intentions and wanted to secretly harm the Great Witch."

As Jiufeng listened, her expression grew colder. Although she wasn't sure if it was true or false, she was shocked to realize that she had been too wishful thinking. It was impossible for the natural order to allow her to succeed!

Jiufeng asked solemnly, "What does he intend to do?"

Taibai said in a deep voice: "They have already made a secret plan. They are just waiting for the wedding night to set up a trap and hide their murderous intent. They want to use the Slaughtering Witch Sword to attack the Great Witch. They will take advantage of your sincerity in forming an alliance and your lack of vigilance to launch a surprise attack and kill you, the leader of the Witch Clan, in one fell swoop!"

"Once the Great Witch dies, the Witch Clan will be leaderless and their fighting strength will collapse. Xuanyuan can then join forces with Zhuanxu to crush the Jiuli and wipe out the remaining Witch Clan forces in one fell swoop, leaving them no chance to recover."

"The Witch-Slaying Sword!"

Jiufeng's murderous aura surged, her eyes filled with disbelief and rage: "So Zhuanxu used the Witch-Slaying Sword to kill me? Your Heavenly Court actually managed to uncover such a secret conspiracy?"

Li Bai laughed and said, "Emperor Zhuanxu and his advisors thought their scheme was so secret that no one could detect it. It was only by chance that I stumbled upon the whole thing and learned of their treacherous plot, which is why I dared to come and inform the great shaman to avoid disaster."

Jiufeng no longer held any contempt in her eyes; her expression was extremely solemn as she stared at Taibai and asked in a deep voice, "Just how much more do you know? Tell me everything at once!"

Taibai nodded slightly, but then offered a condition: "I can tell you everything, but I have one request. I am willing to help the Great Shaman break through the deadlock, but this is not without reward. I want to make a deal with the Great Shaman."

Nine Phoenix's eyes flickered: "You want to make a deal with this witch?"

"Exactly!"

Taibai frankly replied, "If there were no benefit, I would not have risked offending the human race, Zhuanxu, or even the Chan Sect by coming here to deliver this message."

Jiufeng nodded after hearing this: "What you say makes sense. Tell me, what exactly is it?"

Li Taibai immediately said, "In my Jade Pool Immortal Realm, there is a supreme treasure left behind by the ancient Heavenly Court. It has a seal, and this seal is special. Only those who are direct descendants of Pangu and possess Pangu's primordial spirit can unlock it. I have heard that the Great Witch is the only powerful member of the Witch Clan in the prehistoric world who possesses Pangu's primordial spirit. I only hope that if it is convenient for the Great Witch in the future, she can help me unlock this treasure. This is just a small matter."

Upon hearing this, Jiufeng pondered for a moment, scrutinized Taibai for a while, and said coldly, "If everything you say is true, and you can truly expose this deadly trap and help my Wu clan avoid a great disaster, what harm is there in me agreeing to your request to unseal the treasure? Tell me in detail just how many more schemes Zhuanxu has up his sleeve."

Taibai no longer concealed anything and explained in detail how Zhuanxu wanted to win over the Wu tribe through marriage, but in reality, he plotted against Jiufeng, ambushed her during the wedding, and launched a sneak attack with the Wu-slaying sword.

In fact, Li Bai had never heard of this. It was only because he was a time traveler that he knew the whole story. The essence of the matter was to seduce Jiu Feng through marriage, kill Jiu Feng in the battle against Jiu Li, and then have Jiu Feng escape into the Origin Starry Sky with serious injuries, while Jiu Li suffered a complete defeat!

As for what to do if Jiu Feng is not seriously injured and cannot defeat Jiu Li?

This is a matter for the Chan sect, and has nothing to do with me!

Upon hearing the entire scheme, Jiufeng's expression changed drastically. Her murderous aura nearly burst forth from the Pangu Palace as she angrily shouted, "What a wicked brat, Zhuanxu! He appears to have lofty ambitions and a desire to break free from the shackles of the sages, yet his heart is so treacherous and cunning, daring to devise such a vicious plan to harm me and annihilate the Wu clan!"

Taibai quickly advised, "Great Shaman, please calm down for now. It would be counterproductive to act now. In my opinion, Great Shaman, there is no need to break off relations on the spot. You might as well stick to the agreement and attend the marriage ceremony a month later. Just secretly prepare your protective treasures and observe the situation. If Zhuanxu truly harbors malicious intentions and reveals his true colors on the wedding night, then Great Shaman can take the opportunity to protect himself and escape."

"If he is truly sincere in forming an alliance, it will not be too late to discuss the matter of co-governance between the witches and the people. Whether it is true or false, we can find out by testing, and we can also preserve the face of the witches and the overall situation."

After a moment of deep thought, Jiufeng slowly suppressed her anger and nodded in agreement: "You are right. I will remember this. You will stay in the Pangu Palace for now and wait to see how things develop. A month later, I will personally go to keep the appointment and see how much sincerity Zhuanxu has and how much wolfish ambition he harbors. If everything is as you say, I will keep my promise and help you unseal that ancient treasure."

Taibai bowed slightly and said, "Thank you for your trust, Great Witch Jiufeng."
