Huayu Entertainment Starts with Xiang Yu, the Hegemon of Western Chu

38. You also know how to train actresses? [Please read on!]

Despite Gulnazar's obsession with cosplaying her brother and sister, she actually has no scenes with Jiang Yang in the film.

Because when Wu Jiang came seeking revenge, Xiao Wei had been dead for five years.

How did Xiaowei die?

This is the core suspense of "Police Story 2013". Wu Jiang set up a big scheme and brought all the parties involved together just to figure this out.

After more than an hour of preliminaries, everyone pieced together the complete truth in a flurry of voices.

There are several inverted layers inside.

In the first story, robber Wei Xiaofu steals medicine from a pharmacy to treat his mother's illness. After being discovered, he kidnaps Xiaowei in a moment of panic and accidentally kills her.

The second point is that Wu Jiang believes Zhong Wen was distracted by his wife's car accident and neglected his work, leading to Xiao Wei's wrongful death, but he denied this.

The third point is that the other three people pointed out that Xiaowei came to the pharmacy to buy sleeping pills because she was determined to die.

In the fourth layer, Chung Man further added information, saying that Xiao Wei was pregnant when she died, and she was unmarried at the time, which means that there must have been a "scumbag" who was the reason for her suicide.

On the fifth floor, Zhong Wen recognized Wu Jiang's subordinate and the bartender at the bar as that scumbag through the tattoo.

On the sixth floor, the bartender turns around and accuses Chung Man, saying that it was because he strongly opposed the two being together and threatened to kill him that the two broke up, leading to Xiao Wei's suicide.

After all that fuss, it all came back to Wu Jiang himself, who came seeking revenge. What goes around comes around, and no one escapes the wrath of Heaven.

The plot is intricately linked; isn't it exciting?

not at all.

This section is full of plot twists, but it is entirely driven by the characters' dialogue, which is chaotic and repetitive.

The accounts from various people differed, but their underlying strategy was to absolve themselves of responsibility for Xiao Wei's death and shift the blame to others.

Summary: A very low-budget version of "Rashomon".

The script for Police Story 2013 was so-so, nothing particularly outstanding, but not terrible either.

It's an action movie, so the plot is pretty much there.

This movie had a low budget and was very economical. Anyone in the know can tell that at a glance because there is only one main setting: Wu Jiang's bar.

The storyline five years later all takes place in this single, enclosed environment.

The story of Xiao Wei, the younger sister played by Gulnazar, also takes place in only one place: a small pharmacy five years ago.

The five people who had scenes with her were: Cheng Long, Zhou Xiaoou, Yin Tao, Liu Yiwei, and Na Wei.

Oh no, six.

There's also Xiaowei's boyfriend, Akun, who is the bartender five years later. He and Xiaowei exchange glances outside the pharmacy, which can be considered as a scene between them from afar.

That male actor was the same one who later played "Cui Qi of Longyou" in "The Longest Day in Chang'an".

They're not exactly big stars, but they're all veteran actors.

Compared to this group of people, Gulnazar's acting skills seemed out of place, making her look like a complete greenhorn.

Naza: I was born a greenhorn.

Because before this, she had only acted in two movies.

Ok……

The director couldn't do much with her, or rather, his requirements weren't high. When casting, he only cared about her image and popularity.

The acting was passable, but let's just say it was passable.

Naza herself doesn't have any ambitions, and even if she wanted to, she wouldn't know how. She just goes with what the director says.

Fortunately, she now has an "older brother".

Jiang Yang couldn't stand it.

He wasn't in this scene; he came to check on things only to make it easier to decide how Wu Jiang should recall the incident later, only to find that they were all just fooling around.

While Nazha may not have exceptional acting talent, she can't just give up entirely, can she?

We can still salvage this!

"Although your scenes all take place in a pharmacy and involve the same few people, it doesn't mean it's the same scene or the same acting style."

"Because each person emphasizes different aspects when describing this event."

"For example, Lanlan, played by Yin Tao, emphasizes that she has advised you."

"But the pharmacy owner played by Na Wei immediately exposed her, saying that she was trying to drag you into this, and that she was angry and even cursed you after you rejected her."

"These two shots, these two scenes, clearly your reactions shouldn't be the same..."

Jiang Yang explained it to her in detail.

Naza's acting skills are actually due to the fact that no one has properly taught her.

She had already debuted in "Xuan-Yuan Sword" before attending the Beijing Film Academy, and her time at the school was not long.

Sugar Man arranged for her to star in idol dramas, and the directors were just going through the motions, not taking things any more seriously than Ding Sheng.

When everyone accepts that "her acting is so-so, don't bother trying," then there's absolutely no chance left.

Jiang Yang is giving her extra tutoring.

Although Nazha wasn't particularly career-driven, she still listened to Jiang Yang, nodding as she listened, showing a rare display of obedience.

Seeing that she was interested, Jiang Yang came up with another idea.

"During your performance just now, Xiaowei was completely blank; no matter what they were doing, you didn't react at all."

"Performance is all about reaction; if you don't react, you're dead."

"You might be thinking that Xiaowei was determined to die at the time, but such a drastic change happened in the pharmacy, with a robber holding a knife to your neck, and you were too calm, weren't you?"

"Besides, you don't seem like someone who's determined to die at all."

"A good actor doesn't even need lines; just one look is enough for the audience to know: she doesn't want to live anymore."

Naza looks so beautiful in this scene, she could star in a music video, she's so clean and radiant.

Her eyes were dull and lifeless; it seemed she wasn't going to buy sleeping pills to commit suicide, but rather to buy shower gel to take a bath.

Jiang Yang's suggestion was also quite blunt.

"Think back on all the saddest things in your life, cry for three hours, and then come back to film."

Naza obediently did as she was told.

When I came back, I was completely different. The real feeling of being haggard and exhausted was something that no amount of makeup could replicate.

Director Ding Sheng was pleasantly surprised.

He had originally planned to give up on Nazha, since she wasn't a major character in "Police Story 2013".

Jiang Yang wanted to give it a try, and considering that he and Nazha had a very good personal relationship and that the two of them were almost never apart on set, he gave her a chance.

Looking back, the results were quite good.

It's definitely much better than the initial photos.

Ding Sheng himself has an art background and later transitioned to directing, but he mainly makes action films and is not good at tapping into the potential of actors.

Even Jackie Chan gave it a thumbs up.

Jackie Chan's disadvantage lies in the fact that his status as an action superstar overshadows his acting skills, even though he is quite good at dramatic roles as well.

Especially in the later stages, he became more and more monstrous with age.

Because he can no longer fight, people are paying attention to his acting skills.

Of course, acting yourself and teaching others are two different things. Jiang Yang is quite capable for teaching Nazha, even if it's just for this one scene.

"I didn't know you could train actresses?"

"I have plenty of training to do."

Jiang Yang didn't mince words and took the opportunity to boast, and the three of them burst into lewd laughter.

Jing Tian wasn't in this scene, but she still came.

He stood not far away, gazing thoughtfully at Jiang Yang's retreating figure...
