Conquering the Multiverse Starting with the Black Robe
Chapter 46 Thunder Begins
"Take your hands off me, don't touch me with your dirty hands."
Homelander raised his hand in annoyance, stopping Storm from taking any further action. He was certain that he had never met this woman before, so why was she acting so familiar?
He couldn't help but feel puzzled, and even a little disappointed. Why were there so many inexplicable superhumans?
No, it should be said that there isn't a single normal person here; they're all freaks who are difficult to communicate with!
and many more……
What does this taste like?
Homelander frowned and sniffed, his already unnatural expression becoming even more peculiar.
His super sense of smell makes it easy for him to distinguish people's body odor, and on Storm, he seemed to smell the scent of a familiar person...
Homelander glanced coldly at the woman and bluntly asked, "You've slept with villains?"
Storm's charming smile froze instantly. Homelander's doubtful yet assertive tone was like a piercing sword, directly breaking through her defenses.
Bang!
Just then, the restaurant door was violently smashed open from the outside by a tremendous force.
A group of armed personnel, carrying anti-human weapons and wearing Vought combat uniforms, filed in. Their movements were clean, efficient, and uniform, showing that they were well-trained.
These individuals were all elites retired from special forces units of various countries. They were recruited by Vought, and Edgar reorganized and trained them as a hidden trump card to deal with emergencies.
Even within the company, very few people knew of their existence, and they were rarely used. The laser red dot on the muzzle of the gun was instantly aimed at Butcher and the others around the long table.
"Wow, wow... Relax, guys, we're all in this together. I'm Deepsea, you all know me... right?" Deepsea, who was closest to the door, raised his hands and gave an innocent smile, admitting defeat on the spot.
In the crowd, a blurry figure suddenly appeared, flickering and moving at a speed that was difficult for ordinary people to perceive. It darted through the hall at high speed and, in the blink of an eye, put an electric shock collar around the necks of Butcher, Deep Sea Star, and others.
"Wozefak?! Hey! You can't lock me up like a dog! I am the ruler of the seven seas! That's beneath my dignity!"
Deep Sea wore a miserable expression, grabbed the collar around its neck, and tried to pull it off, but it was no match for the carefully crafted, thick steel ring.
He had no idea what was going on from beginning to end. How did things escalate like this? It was just a meal, wasn't it? Had he been dragged into an internal power struggle?
After finishing his task, Shockwave tossed the stun remote control in his hand, gave him a slight smile, and said, "Don't move, buddy. If I were you, I wouldn't be asking for trouble. Be smart; you don't want to be electrocuted like a grilled fish, do you?"
"Damn bastard." Deep Sea forced a friendly smile, but as soon as Shockwave turned his head, he immediately cursed in frustration. He wouldn't admit that he had been on high alert, but in the end, he still couldn't keep up with the other's movements.
In the blink of an eye, a collar was put on my head.
Deep Sea suddenly realized that if a speedster wanted to kill him, it would be incredibly easy.
"Bullshit, how could I possibly be inferior to a locomotive? Don't even think about it!"
I am the noble Lord of the Seven Seas, the man who rules over billions of marine creatures, the uncrowned king! In the water, no one can rival me!
Deep Sea shook his head repeatedly, hypnotically comforting himself. When he thought that the ocean covered more than 70% of the Earth's total surface area, he felt that there was really no need to argue with a bunch of poor people.
However, when he saw that Starlight and Butcher had also been put on collars, he immediately felt much better. He straightened his chest and realized that it wasn't so hard to accept.
Meanwhile, outside...
Rumble!!
With a deafening roar, the bustling night sky of downtown Manhattan was torn apart by two figures locked in combat, leaving trails of smoke as they tumbled and twisted, rapidly approaching a building not far away.
The 36th floor of a certain building.
Inside the office building.
"Hey Lisa, there seems to be a new product launch at Times Square tonight. I heard the Vought International superheroes will be making an appearance. Want to go check it out after get off work?"
In the United States, a 9-to-5 job is the norm, but in New York City, where land is incredibly expensive, working late into the night is not uncommon.
With the end of the month approaching and financial statements piling up, more than a dozen employees who volunteered to work overtime were exhausted and slumped at their workstations, idly waiting to clock out. They sat at their desks, "busy" doing nothing in front of their computers, occasionally chatting with people nearby.
The speaker was a young man, slightly overweight and balding, but with a fairly decent appearance. He was holding a coffee, typing on the keyboard with one hand, while turning his head to chat up his beautiful female colleague at the next workstation.
They were about the same age and had a lot in common. Mike felt that he was just a little bit away from successfully getting the girl out on a date.
It's like needing a little stimulation to ignite the spark of love.
The girl called Lisa rubbed her sore eyes, feeling that her dark circles were about to get worse.
Without even looking up, he chuckled self-deprecatingly, "Forget it, Mike. I'm more concerned about whether this month's overtime pay will be paid on time."
"If I don't hand over the rent soon, the landlord is going to kick me out. Listen carefully outside, there's thunder going on, it looks like a heavy rain is coming. I just want to finish my work as quickly as possible and then go home and lie down..."
"Okay, I'm available anytime if you change your mind." Mike shrugged with a hint of regret, adjusted his seat, and glanced out the window out of the corner of his eye, letting out a soft "hmm."
What is that?
In the pitch-black Manhattan night sky, a striking scarlet streak of light was falling at an alarming speed, following a parabolic trajectory, like a meteorite crashing down towards the halfway point of the building!
"A generous gift, thank you?!"
As if in response to his scream, the next second, with a world-ending sound, a deafening explosion rang out, and a stream of light instantly pierced through the building!
Bulletproof glass, strong enough to withstand a small hurricane, was now as fragile as paper. Along with the fixed reinforced concrete structure, it was completely destroyed by the terrifying impact of this high-yield TNT explosion!
A violent blast of air crashed into the enclosed space, like a fan-shaped shockwave, instantly blasting away desks, computers, filing cabinets, and other clutter in the office area near the window.
The entire office building was thrown into chaos, with people stumbling and screaming in terror.
Lisa, who was talking to Mike just moments before, was suddenly struck in the chest by a concrete block that appeared out of nowhere, killing her instantly.
However, the two figures who were the culprits showed no sign of stopping.
Rean threw punches repeatedly, but his supersonic punches landed heavily on his opponent's face, yet he couldn't inflict any effective damage. Instead, he was overwhelmed by the opponent's savage and unreasonable superhuman strength.
This was the first time he was far inferior to his opponent in strength and was utterly crushed.
The two wrestling figures slid through the office like human lawnmowers, leaving a crooked furrow in their wake.
"Oh my god! Lisa!"
Mike's forehead was bleeding from when he bumped into the corner of the desk. He had witnessed Lisa's terrible condition and was almost scared to death.
If it weren't for the waves of pain stimulating his brain, Mike might have even wondered if he was having a nightmare and was scrambling to escape through the emergency exit.
However, in the midst of a deadly clash between two superhuman beings, moving at speeds far exceeding the speed of sound and faster than bullets, the average person's movement is as slow as a snail climbing a wall.
Faced with the approaching shadows, Mike and two female employees screaming in terror and trying to find cover had nowhere to hide and were tragically swept away by the haphazardly charging humanoid beasts.
Faced with absolute power, the bones and internal organs of ordinary people are as fragile as a piece of soft tofu, crumbling at the slightest touch.
With a chilling sound, the bodies of these people were instantly sent flying, their limbs snapping into bizarre letter shapes. Blood and fragments of organs spurted wildly, as if they had been hit head-on by a high-speed train. Parts exploded everywhere, and large amounts of blood and debris were splashed around by the residual force, terrifying the survivors who were still trying to escape.
These unlucky guys were merely grazed by the aftermath of this epic battle and instantly turned into a pile of mud.
The figure on top of Rean seemed to realize something was wrong and stopped moving. Only after Rean got up did they continue their passionate fight on the spot.
The two figures clashed wildly, offering no defense whatsoever. The sonic booms combined with their punches and kicks created a continuous rumble of muffled thunder.
"Not bad, that's powerful!" Rean grinned, spat out a mouthful of bloody phlegm, and tore his already tattered suit to shreds, revealing his muscular upper body. The life energy within his body rapidly repaired his injuries.
He had already recognized the attacker. There were only a handful of people in the world who could pose a threat to him, and only three who could overpower him in terms of strength.
Excluding Homelander and Soldier Boy, and also being able to fly, the answer is obvious.
Bomb vision!
