French shuddered at his words, recalling Butcher's miserable state, and immediately became honest. "Ah non, I think it's better to keep things as they are. I don't want to be sleeping with someone one day and hear another man moaning in my head."

"Damn it, you Frenchman, you can't shut your mouth unless you offend someone, can you?"

Boucher, who was sitting next to him smoking, glared at Frenchie. During the transport by Rean Airways, his body had already healed itself. Now, apart from being a little weak, he was fine, and at least he still had the strength to curse.

"Okay, a bet's a bet. I'll go buy some pizza." Frenchie smirked, gave Butcher the middle finger with practiced ease, and shrugged as he put on his coat.

"Wait a minute." Rean frowned.

French looked over.

Rean earnestly reminded him, "Frankie, don't forget to bring a bottle of baby oil; Hughie will need it tonight."

Amidst the laughter, Butcher's face turned completely black, and he muttered through gritted teeth, "Damn it, two idiots..."

He picked up the remote and turned up the TV volume.

On the screen, a superhero movie is playing, and the battle has just reached its climax. The lead actor, Xuan Se, punches the villain away and throws a dart that kills several villains who rush up to him. The background music is exciting and surging.

Suddenly the screen cut off, and the headline read "Breaking News" in red text on a white background.

In the video, a blonde female host stands below a roller coaster track, microphone in hand, facing the camera. Police cordon is visible in the distance. She quickly announces, "Good afternoon, viewers. We have an emergency news briefing. A superhero, one of the Seven, known as the fastest man in the world—A-Train—has tragically been killed in action while battling superhuman villains."

French, who was about to leave, heard the sound, stopped in his tracks, frowned, and went back to the TV. Rean, seeing this, also sat up a little straighter.

At this point, the scene switches to a video taken by a mobile phone. The camera zooms in and becomes somewhat blurry, but you can still see the fight between Butcher and the locomotive until finally, they are cut in two by a speeding train.

The crowd erupted in piercing screams, the phone camera shook violently, and the person filming kept shouting "Hooli fuck!" before the video ended.

French was disappointed that he hadn't witnessed it himself. He grinned and muttered, "A locomotive being smashed in two on the tracks? God is really funny."

Rean glanced at him and said calmly, "There is no God. Even if there were, he would be indifferent to his own little sandbox. Without our operation, the locomotive would not have died, and justice would have been delayed."

"You're right, boss, this is all thanks to us." French nodded, acknowledging Rean's words.

The television camera then switched to the next scene, saying, "We are deeply saddened by this. The police have issued an arrest warrant. Now, let's interview some of the people who witnessed this tragic event." The female host moved the microphone to the "passersby" who had already memorized their scripts.

After pondering for a while, Butcher suddenly said, "This guy has more guts than I thought."

His clothes billowed, and Hughie's smaller head peeked out from his collar, his face grave, still somewhat indignant, and very dissatisfied with Butcher's words. "Got guts? He's a coward, a despicable liar! He deserved it, he killed so many people, he should die!"

Butcher raised an eyebrow. "Hughie, that's not like you. I thought you'd rather put him in jail."

Hughie said bitterly, "You know what, Butcher? I don't think this will do any good. Only death can teach them a painful lesson. Like you said, an eye for an eye. Only by hurting them and scaring them can we warn other superhuman villains and even curb potential crimes that are very likely to occur, thus preventing more tragedies."

"Well said, Hughie." Rean glanced at him, but he understood. It was normal for a person's personality to change after gaining the power to change their life. If he lost all his current power, he would have to keep a low profile.

This time, Butcher, unusually, didn't refute Hughie's words. Instead, he nodded thoughtfully. "Damn, you're absolutely right. He really is a heinous bastard and deserves to be punished. Man, nobody understands your feelings better than me. My wife, Becca, I once thought she had been killed by Homelander."

"But... even if the locomotive dies, Robin won't come back. What we need to do is prevent this from happening again. Warnings alone are meaningless. We need to overthrow Walter and prevent the world from giving birth to new superhumans, solving the problem at its root."

As he said this, Butcher kept glancing at him. Rean rubbed his temples, knowing he was being pointed at. Lazy Sheep said, "Don't stare at me, Butcher. I won't give you Becca's address, at least not now. You know how dangerous our job is. If Becca's affair is exposed, what do you think Homelander will do after he finds out?"

"Besides, she also gave birth to his son."

Boucher was stirred by painful memories and became agitated, angrily saying, "I don't care about that bastard! A child of a bad seed will only become another bad seed, and I know that better than anyone!"

"Oh? You know everything now. Isn't that a bit too presumptuous, Butcher? Even though your father is a jerk, you and Leni are clearly two completely different people, aren't you?" Rean said calmly, picking his ear with his little finger.

Boucher was taken aback. "How do you know about Leni? Damn it, you can read minds?"

Rean smiled slightly, but did not give a direct answer, "I know a lot more than that."

Butcher found Rean increasingly mysterious. After a moment of silence, he leaned back on the sofa in a conciliatory manner. "Whatever, you're the boss. Just don't keep us in the dark."

"What, are you afraid of the dark?" Rean scoffed without any politeness, tore off a piece of candy and threw it into his mouth, chewing it loudly, completely ignoring Butcher's gloomy and ugly face.

He can do whatever he wants. In this team, he has absolute power, and no one has the right to tell him what to do or ask him to do anything. He doesn't need to worry about what others think.

They're just a bunch of NPCs, what right do they have to interfere with him? Dream on.

To put it bluntly, even if he flew over right now and forced Becca to sleep with him in front of Ryan, who could stop him?

In Rean's eyes, many things now are simply a matter of whether he wants them or not.

Putting everything else aside, he could detonate Butcher's vital organs with a mere flick of his finger; they were marked with his own markings, and he could kill Butcher and Hughie in an instant.

Butcher silently stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, drooping down like the extinguished, wrinkled cigarette butt.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Hughie quietly shrank back into Butcher's body. French glanced at the two of them, wisely kept quiet, coughed lightly, and turned to leave.

Rean glanced at Butcher and picked up the TV remote.

*Splat*

The screen went dark.

Edgar turned off the television, and the office became completely quiet.

He placed the remote control on the table, took out a cigar, cut it with a cigar cutter, lit it, took a puff, and calmly looked at Homelander sitting next to the TV.

"Why are you looking at me?" Homelander looked away, met Edgar's gaze, and shrugged. "I just found out about this myself. I was on a mission with Maeve at the time."
