What kind of divination am I doing?
Chapter 7: The Great Gold Robbery
"Huh? Can I participate too?" Lu Qiao looked at Liu Bo and Zhao Chengpeng.
Just as Liu Bo was about to say something, a white cloth was thrown out from the opened roller shutter door.
Zhao Chengpeng laughed: "Throwing a white cloth? I told you it meant surrender!"
Liu Bo continued to shake his head: "I don't think so! It looks more like they're negotiating terms! They definitely won't be able to reach an agreement!"
"Stop guessing, let's go check it out!" Zhao Chengpeng strode forward, wanting to cross the road to see what it was.
Zhao Chengpeng and Liu Bo started competing and making bets on this matter.
Lu Qiao didn't move while watching the thrown object; at that distance, it would be difficult for others to see it clearly.
But Luqiao wanted to see if he could see the contents from a great distance.
In the distance, in front of the gold shop, one of the detectives stepped forward, carefully picked up the clothes, and opened them in front of everyone.
It was a white T-shirt with crooked red lettering on it.
It was written in English with lipstick. The message read: We have eight hostages here. We need to talk to the negotiation experts.
The detective returned to the group with the clothes, and the shouting stopped.
The situation reached a stalemate again, leaving everyone present clearly puzzled.
The road and bridge are clearly visible, but I still feel there's something wrong with them.
Just as Luqiao was thinking, he felt something bump into him.
Lu Qiao looked down and saw that the black cat was rubbing against him and meowing twice.
"I've figured it out. It was just a jewelry store robbery, lasted at most an hour, and the robbers managed to escape!"
"The robbers escaped successfully? Are you sure you didn't miscalculate?" Lu Qiao said subconsciously.
"It wasn't me who said it, it was something I predicted!" the black cat explained.
Lu Qiao pondered for a moment before speaking, "You have no idea what happened. I saw it myself. The thug is trapped inside the jewelry store, and there are police right outside. Do you think this is a movie? How could the thug escape like this?"
"Don't believe me? This is a racial inheritance. Unless I can't calculate it, I can't be wrong! As for what method I use, I can only get the result, not the process." The black cat rolled its eyes at Lu Qiao and turned back to the castle.
The black cat was clearly uninterested in the commotion, while only Luqiao found it incomprehensible.
Liu Bo and Zhao Chengpeng returned disappointed. The opposite side of the road was too crowded, and it was impossible to stand in the road to see, so they chose to go back to their original positions.
"The efficiency is so low, I guess we'll have to wait for a negotiation expert. But my bet remains unchanged! I bet on a kill!" Liu Bo was still convinced that a kill was the outcome.
"Then I won't change either! I'll just reconcile and surrender!" Zhao Chengpeng replied.
Lu Qiao was taken aback. There was no reason for the black cat to deceive him, which meant that he already knew the answer in advance.
"Hey, what are the stakes in your bets?" Lu Qiao asked.
Liu Bo waved his hand: "We don't play for money. We just play small games to get to know each other and avoid hurting our feelings. His family owns a restaurant, and mine owns a department store. In the past, if I won, I'd get a free meal from him that night, and if he won, I'd just go and buy some daily necessities."
Lu Qiao smiled wryly: "You don't need my fortune-telling skills. The key is that I'm guaranteed to win, but I can't offer any prizes."
"You're just bragging! You think you'll definitely win?" Liu Bo's curiosity and competitive spirit were instantly piqued.
"Isn't it supposed to be divination? They must have some skill!" Zhao Chengpeng said thoughtfully.
"Dude, our ancestors used fortune telling and divination. Now that you mention it, I remember her aunt used magic crystal ball tarot cards. It's not suitable for her!" Liu Bo retorted.
Lu Qiao smiled wryly: "It's a long story. Actually, we're still using the fortune-telling method. Going overseas is just about making money off foreigners, right? So we localized it a bit, but it's still basically fortune-telling stuff—using crystal balls to fool people!"
"Huh? You can do that?" Liu Bo was taken aback.
"We're just playing around anyway, so count me in. We want to see how accurate we are too," Zhao Chengpeng said with a smile.
Liu Bo immediately added, "In that case, everyone bring out their prizes, and whoever wins takes it all. I have a cart full of stuff, and no matter how you pack it, you can just push it out the door and take it all, no questions asked."
Zhao Chengpeng chimed in, "I only need food for a week, all three meals a day are included, I don't care what I eat!"
"What do you mean, 'me'?" Lu Qiao was stunned. He knew he was going to win, but he really didn't know what to bring out.
Liu Bo laughed, "Brother, no problem. Your location is great, right across from Chinatown! It's just the space for a poster. We'll make the posters ourselves, and whoever wins can put them up for a month, how about that?"
Lu Qiao nodded. Liu Bo was indeed a businessman with many ideas. He probably had already been targeted while the three of them were chatting.
Liu Bo explained, "A nod means you agree; guessing is not allowed. Cheng Peng means surrendering once the terms are agreed upon. My answer is harder to determine. Whether it's a forced entry, capture, or a gunfight, I'm guilty!"
"You have so many conditions, wouldn't it be profitable to just take them all? That's unreasonable! Change it!" Zhao Chengpeng objected.
Lu Qiao chimed in, "Yeah, they can't be the same. You have to leave me some room, right?"
"Alright, then I'll bet that the outcome will be a shootout, and the thugs will all die! I'm leaving you, Brother Luqiao, some room to maneuver. Whether you escape after the shootout or break in and capture them alive without firing a shot, you win, how about that?" Liu Bo said with a smile.
The current situation is really just a matter of pros and cons. The agents here are used to emptying their magazines as soon as they fire a shot.
So Luqiao's situation was a trap, and both of them actually had the idea of leaving a poster on the wall of the castle where Luqiao was supposed to die.
"Okay, it doesn't really matter. It just so happens that you left me with the correct answer. I did a calculation when you guys went over, and the outcome should be that all the criminals escape within an hour!" Lu Qiao replied.
Upon hearing this, the two burst into laughter.
Luqiao was also in an awkward position. It was Black Cat's calculation, and Black Cat wouldn't lie to himself, so this was the truth.
"Brother, are you being sarcastic? If you want to send us posters, just say so!" Liu Bo said, afraid that Lu Qiao was angry and wouldn't play anymore.
"Brother Lu, you didn't see it. When we got closer, we found that the police had surrounded us from all sides. Even if we could sprout wings and fly away, I reckon they could still shoot us down!" Zhao Chengpeng naturally explained the situation he had witnessed.
Lu Qiao smiled helplessly, mimicking the black cat: "I can only calculate the result, not the process, so I figured out that all the thugs would escape within an hour! Don't worry!"
Lu Qiao's words were unequivocal, but the two people in front of him clearly understood that this was absolutely impossible! This was the least likely outcome!
"You're really not angry! How about this, even if you lose, our department store will always offer you the lowest price, okay?" Liu Bo couldn't hold back his smile any longer.
"At our house, we only charge you for the ingredients when you come to eat!" Zhao Chengpeng was also afraid that Lu Qiao would feel cheated and regret it.
"That's settled then. I have some things to do here. Anyway, we'll know the results in an hour, right? Let's meet at my place in an hour." Lu Qiao said, then turned and went back into the house.
Luqiao naturally had no desire to stay, because he wasn't sure himself and wanted to go back and ask the black cat if the divination might have been wrong.
Looking at Lu Qiao's retreating figure, Liu Bo and Zhao Chengpeng were both somewhat suspicious.
Only after watching Lu Qiao enter the castle did the two realize that Lu Qiao's identity was correct.
"He walked in? This shop really is his? Then the original owner, that woman, must have lost her mind? Handing over such a big shop to a mere brat!"
"I don't think so. I think he's clever; he's unfamiliar with the area, so he's probably using this to get closer to us, right?"
"Wait a minute, if you put it that way, I'll assume he's a smart person. He could have actually figured it out after talking for an hour, right?"
"Who knows? We can't go back now anyway, let's see in an hour!"
……
Once inside, Luqiao was still unsure of what to do.
The known information from Luqiao is that the robbers will successfully escape in one hour.
But the situation that Luqiao sees before him is completely different from what he imagines.
If they really had a way to escape, these people wouldn't be so stupid.
Lu Qiao assumed in his mind that if the plan was flawless, there would be no accidental shooting, and the person who was picking them up on the motorcycle would not escape.
Therefore, their robbery plan was a complete mess.
Now they are surrounded by police again!
If you can't figure it out, stop thinking about it and just ask the black cat.
Lu Qiao looked around, went into the inner room, and saw the black cat curled up asleep on the sofa.
Luqiao knelt down in front of the sofa and hugged the black cat with both arms.
At this moment, the black cat was fast asleep, its eyes half-closed, its nictitating membrane seemingly rolling back its eyes.
Lu Qiao didn't know how to start the conversation for a while.
Call me silly cat? Call me Annie? Call me master?
Since he needed their help, respect was mutual. Lu Qiao cleared his throat and asked, "Master Aini! Are you sure these people ran away in an hour?"
Aini snapped out of her daze, retracted her tongue, and said, "Let go! Just call me if you need anything, don't touch me."
"Oh!" Lu Qiao immediately let go.
The black cat landed on the sofa, adjusted its position, and raised its paw, looking at Lu Qiao: "Get to the point!"
Lu Qiao pondered for a moment, then laid it all out: "Is it possible for divination to be wrong?"
"This is all? Wait, you don't believe me?" The black cat thought for a few seconds, then bared its teeth in realization.
Lu Qiao pondered for a moment before speaking again: "Let me analyze this for you. In my understanding, there's absolutely no way they could have escaped! So there must be some extraordinary item! That is, a sacred relic! Shouldn't we go investigate?"
The black cat then meowed, "Idiot!"
"Damn it, why are you cursing at me!" Lu Qiao retorted.
"What do you think relics are? Some kind of common, cheap stuff that you can run into every time you go out, right next to me? Do you think I don't know that!" the black cat sneered.
Lu Qiao just wanted to know how accurate the black cat was, so he simply started making up stories about the holy relics.
Because Luqiao also knew that if there really was a possibility of a relic, the black cat wouldn't be in its current situation.
It's estimated that as long as there's even the slightest possibility, the black cat will bravely lead him into the tiger's den.
Lu Qiao thought for a few seconds and then said, "There's a gold shop right across the street, and it's being robbed right now! That's gold! You said the thief would definitely escape, so he must have some special skills. Learning a move or two wouldn't hurt. Besides, it's just a cat; they won't shoot you. What if he brings back a gold necklace? That's a lot of money!"
The black cat raised its head: "What you said makes sense, I think it's a good idea!"
"That's right!" Lu Qiao said with a smile.
The black cat pounced on it the next second.
Lu Qiao was stunned when the black cat pounced on him and knocked him to the ground!
"Hey, what are you doing...?"
Lu Qiao came to his senses, only to find everything in complete darkness.
I thought I had gone blind before I realized what was covering my face.
Lu Qiao waved forward, finally lifting off what was covering him.
It was difficult to even lift it up. At this point, the road and bridge were lying on their backs on the ground, but they didn't feel any pain from the fall.
When Lu Qiao realized what was happening, he exclaimed, "Wait a minute, why have everything around us gotten so big?!"
"Fool, it's you who's shrunk!" the black cat said.
Lu Qiao looked up and saw a huge cat's head.
Lu Qiao saw his own reflection in the black cat's dark pupils from its enormous head!
"Oh my god! A rat!" Lu Qiao roared.
The black cat slapped down, pinning Lu Qiao down firmly.
"Stop yelling, you're the mouse!" the black cat warned.
"I...I am a mouse! I...I...How did I become a mouse! Change back!"
Luqiao has lived his whole life surrounded by rats, cockroaches, spiders, and any small, mobile creature he sees. He's terrified of them all.
"Calm down, calm down and let's get down to business!" the black cat said, pressing down on Luqiao with one paw.
After a few attempts, Luqiao was unable to calm down.
Seeing that Luqiao was no longer moving, the black cat picked him up and threw him on its back.
Lu Qiao realized that he was already on the black cat.
Looking down, he realized what was happening; what had been pressing down on him was his own clothes.
It's like the black cat pounced on you and you turned into a mouse.
The black cat didn't start running immediately, but instead led Lu Qiao around the room a few times.
Luqiao felt a downward pressure and was afraid of falling, so he clung tightly to the skin beneath the black cat's fur with his rat-like claws.
Luqiao then got used to climbing on the black cat, and even when the black cat was walking or running, he wouldn't fall off.
"Is all of this magic? It's amazing!" Lu Qiao asked in a squeak.
"You can think of it as magic. You can understand the languages of various races because of the affinity passed down by the Treants. This is the Transfiguration inheritance of the Druids. That's the benefit of retrieving the inheritance of the Relics. Do you understand now?"
"May I ask what human inheritance is?" Lu Qiao asked.
"We don't know about those that haven't been discovered yet, after all, the story of the god-slaying happened tens of thousands of years ago," the black cat replied.
After hearing this, Lu Qiao realized, "Tens of thousands of years have passed, and only forty-two items have been found? Does that mean I have no hope in this lifetime?"
"It's not that exaggerated. It's like science didn't exist before, and it only came into existence in recent years, and that's when it started to advance by leaps and bounds. The search for the relics was something our Lich Clan started after they calculated the possibility of god-killing. Even this Outer Realm Tavern hasn't been established for very long. The forty-two relics that have been unearthed have all been discovered intermittently over the years. No one discovered them a few years earlier than anyone else," the black cat replied.
"Understood!" Lu Qiao nodded his rat-like head.
"I've already said so much, so I'll continue telling you. The most effective way for us to find relics is through the divination of us liches!" the black cat explained.
"What do you mean?" Lu Qiao asked.
