Mobile City Travel Guide
Chapter 13 "Getting Ready"
A conference room, a long table, with giants resembling military officers sitting on both sides.
Judging from their shoulder insignia, cap badges, and the dense array of ceremonial badges on their chests, they were clearly top-ranking military officers.
The two flags facing completely different directions on the table symbolize that the two sides belong to different camps and are engaged in a large-scale negotiation.
Although it's just a picture, you can still feel the tense and oppressive atmosphere.
Although Li Xin was unclear about what the two sides were talking about, judging from the scale and level of the discussion, it was clearly a very important matter.
He shrugged and continued reading.
The next picture is self-explanatory: it shows a beach littered with trash and dead fish lying belly up, clearly a case of marine pollution.
Upon seeing this, Li Xin couldn't help but slap his forehead.
Oh right, I almost forgot that there are oceans in this world.
If the Starfire had crossed to the ocean from the beginning, the survival pressure it faced wouldn't have been so great. Everyone wouldn't have had to live in constant fear of giants, and could have safely spent those two weeks.
In fact, from the moment he transmigrated until now, he had absolutely no idea where he was in the world of giants.
When we got to the last picture, the scene suddenly changed.
It was a giant who looked like a scientist. He was about seventy or eighty years old, with messy hair and very slovenly clothes.
The blackboard in front of him was covered with densely packed formulas, stretching from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, completely crammed together.
The giant scientist then raised the chalk in his hand and excitedly drew a heavy circle on the last line.
Inside the circle are just a few simple letters and numbers.
"What does this mean?" someone wondered.
"It must be some incredible invention," Li Xin mused.
Just as he was about to leave, Lu Chen suddenly realized something and reached out to stop him.
"Don't rush off, we haven't looked at the other side of the newspaper yet."
So everyone worked together to turn the newspaper over.
They then realized that this was the real main page, and what they had just looked at was only the back.
The pictures on the headline take up almost half of the column.
It was a captured mobile city.
On the deck, hundreds of terrified humans huddled together.
Surrounding them were countless giants.
There were politicians in suits, military officers in badges, scientists in white coats, and nobles adorned with jewels.
Shock, confusion, insecurity, fanaticism, greed... the expressions on each giant's face were different, like a portrait of all living beings.
The headline on Toutiao is a line of large, eye-catching text, followed by a series of huge question marks.
For a moment, everyone present fell silent.
After a long, long time, Li Xin spoke softly.
"They already know we're here."
The speed at which these humans and mobile cities were discovered was far faster than expected. Keep in mind, this was only the second day after they arrived.
Given the level of media coverage, this news has likely spread throughout the entire world of Titans.
How will they react to this strange civilization that has come from afar?
Vigilance, hostility, communication, cooperation, or annihilation?
Everything is unknown.
......
"How much supplies do we need to prepare before crossing over to the next world?"
In the conference room, Li Xin spoke in a deep voice.
At this moment, the Spark had acquired all the resources from the car and was back on the road.
Apart from the helmsman and the sentries on the watchtower, everyone else came to the conference room for a meeting.
After hesitating for a moment, Lu Chen spoke first.
"You'd need at least a week's worth of basic food and fresh water, right?" he said, then shook his head. "To be on the safe side, you'd actually need a month's worth. Because some worlds might have absolutely no water resources."
"We also need to prepare all kinds of clothing and daily necessities, because we may encounter worlds with extreme environments and temperatures, such as a world in the dead of winter or a desert world," someone reminded us.
"Don't forget the medicine," someone added from the corner. "You know, the bacteria and germs in each world are completely different, and the human body may not be able to adapt. Once infected, it can easily lead to serious problems."
As Li Xin listened, his head started to spin.
It sounds like no matter how many kinds of supplies you prepare, it won't be enough.
Because no one knows what type of world the next world will be.
The prompt will only tell you how long you need to stay in this world; it won't give you a single word of extra information.
If we were transported to a world where the air is completely unbreathable or where there is high radiation, we would have no choice but to shrug and sit down to wait for death.
"So, do I need to prepare breathing apparatus, or even give the Spark a completely sealed shell and an internal air circulation system?" he wondered.
"Don't forget the original civilizations of each world," Lu Chen reminded everyone.
In reality, environment, region, native organisms, and resources are all secondary; what is truly crucial is the original civilization of each world.
Social systems, technological and military levels, individual physical qualities and power levels... the differences between civilizations in different worlds are enormous. And for humans, these travelers from another world, most native civilizations usually hold a wary and hostile attitude, some even going so far as to wage war directly.
Li Xin gently shook his head.
This is certainly a crucial question, but it's not something I should be concerned with, given that the Starfire's current strength is far too weak. In the current world, even a few giants would be a challenge, let alone a giant civilization.
He took out paper and pen and began to write down a list of supplies.
Food and fresh water should be prepared for a month, or even more.
We should try to stock up on more timber, leather, and metal, since our own production workshops can produce according to demand.
We also need to find a way to get some medicines and medical supplies.
Finally, after a moment's hesitation, he added a small line at the end: "Urban development and armed forces."
Mobile cities not only guarantee survival and living needs, but their potential is also very high.
On the one hand, it can reproduce, establish systems, and develop small societies or even civilizations within cities.
On the other hand, it also possesses extraordinary war potential. The city can train combat personnel, manufacture and produce various firearms and combat vehicles, and it is itself a mobile combat platform that can deploy tanks, fighter jets, and even ships to fight anytime, anywhere.
When there is no danger, combat personnel can rest and recuperate in the city, and various vehicles can be stored and maintained.
As a lord, Li Xin's idea was simple.
Survival alone is not enough; he must find a way to develop the Starfire and gradually make it stronger.
Powerful enough to handle any world.
