Full-Time Magister: Rebirth of Mo Fan as the Primordial Evil Phoenix
Chapter 29, The Second Winged Wolf, Tang Yue Stained with Blood
Chapter 29 The Second Winged Wolf, Tang Yue Stained with Blood
When Tang Yue led Mo Fan out of the back street, the sky was already beginning to lighten.
Ahead was a temporary evacuation route cleared by the military. Several old streets had been forcibly opened up, leading to a side entrance to the barrier.
The streets were already packed with people.
An elderly man was being helped along, a woman was carrying a child, their shoes sinking into the mud, their trouser legs completely soaked. Cries, shouts, and sirens mingled together, creating a chaotic and unsettling scene. Several military magistrates stood at the street corner, shouting, "Don't push! The magistrates are holding the line; the elderly and children go first!"
Tang Yue originally wanted to take Mo Fan in with her to get away from this most chaotic area.
But as soon as she landed, she suddenly stopped and turned around sharply to look to her side and above.
Mo Fan heard it too.
A gust of wind swept in, and the eaves of several old buildings began to shake for no apparent reason. Broken bricks fell down with a clatter, and the broken iron sign hanging on the street was blown wildly against the wall.
Tang Yue's face immediately darkened.
That thing didn't come from the main battlefield.
It cut in from the outer edge of the city, deliberately avoiding the main battle zone drawn out by the first winged wolf, and directly pounced on the weakest section of the evacuation flank.
"This is no coincidence," Tang Yue whispered. "They came from the evacuation route."
Mo Fan felt a slight burning sensation in his chest.
The little loach sank after swallowing the essence of the main spring, but the aura it released in that instant was still radiating outwards. Coupled with the bloodstains, demon-attracting powder, and chaotic demonic energy that the Black Church had laid out beforehand, this area was like a fire burning in the dark for high-level demons.
The next second, a strange wind swept down onto the street!
boom!!
The entire evacuation route was struck as if by a heavy hammer, with water spraying skyward. An old building that was already swaying was swept by the wind pressure, and half of its outer wall collapsed, with bricks and wooden beams falling into the crowd, causing screams to erupt.
"Get down!!" a military magistrate shouted hoarsely.
"Water!" A military mage cast a spell.
Mo Fan suddenly looked up.
Beneath the greyish-white sky, a colossal shadow glided along the low-pressure path above the buildings. When its wings were spread, they almost covered a section of the street, and the edges of its wings scraped against the rooftops, causing large sections of tiles and cement to burst open.
The second winged wolf!
The civilians on the street were thrown into chaos.
Some people ran back carrying their children, while others fell to the ground and were trampled by those behind them, their cries rising sharply. The two military magistrates tried desperately to maintain order, but they were facing a terrified crowd, not an orderly line. Once panic broke out, shouting would be futile.
Tang Yue moved.
She didn't back down; instead, her foot slipped, and she disappeared into the shadows by the wall.
Shadow Step!
Her figure moved like a dark line skimming the ground, instantly weaving through the rubble and the panicked crowd, appearing at the front of the street before the Winged Wolf could fully descend. The fire-elemental star chart beneath her feet spun counter-clockwise, crimson flames swirling in her hands, instantly vaporizing the surrounding rain into a cloud of white mist.
"Sparrow Flame - Fierce Fist - Heaven-Shattering Strike!"
Flames roared into the air against the wind.
The winged wolf's dive was violently struck, half of its wing grazed by flames, and the wolf's wing emitted a burnt smell. But the creature merely veered slightly, then flapped its wings, sending a scimitar-like gust of wind slicing down the street.
boom! boom! boom!
The facades of three street-facing shops were blown open at the same time, with broken bricks and glass flying all over the ground.
Tang Yue was pushed backward by the wind pressure, her shoes leaving two long marks in the water, and sparks flew from the friction against the ground.
"Get inside the barrier! Don't stop!" she shouted.
Her shout seemed to pull the people who had been wandering around the street back to their senses.
The military magistrate reacted and immediately stepped forward to push people. An elderly man with gray hair was half-carried inside by two young men, while a little boy who had fallen was dragged up by his collar, his face covered in mud, crying uncontrollably.
Winged Wolf did not continue to entangle with Tang Yue.
It suddenly rose into the air, regaining its altitude. The commander-level demon's judgment was frighteningly fast; it knew exactly where the softest spot was.
It wasn't Tang Yue, nor Mo Fan; it was the group of civilians outside the barrier who hadn't completely evacuated inside yet.
What it wants is slaughter.
Once it falls in, the side road will be instantly destroyed.
"There are more people behind!" a military magistrate shouted as he turned around, his voice cracking.
Mo Fan glanced at it.
The last group of evacuees were still stuck outside, seven or eight people huddled together. A woman carrying a child ran, but fell because she was so frightened. Two old men next to her turned around to help her up, and the slow pace was chilling.
But the Winged Wolf had already folded its wings.
Its entire body crashed down from the sky, accompanied by a piercing whistle, heading straight for the most crowded section of the passage. If it landed, none of the people there would survive.
"Sparrow Flame - Fierce Fist - Nine Palaces!"
puff!puff!
Nine pillars of fire shot up along the street, like a wall of fire suddenly erected, blocking the Winged Wolf's dive route. The firelight turned the entire street red, and the heatwave pushed outwards, forcing even the crowded people behind to squint.
The winged wolf's chest and abdomen were directly pressed against it, causing its skin and flesh to burn and crack, and an immediate burst of acrid smell.
Its massive body paused for a moment, then it ripped the fire apart with its claws.
Her armor magical artifacts materialized on their own, dark red light patterns spreading across her body. Almost at the same instant the armor magical artifacts were formed, the Winged Wolf's giant claw slammed down. Although it didn't hit Tang Yue, the shockwave from that claw still sent Tang Yue flying.
boom! ! !
The whole street shook.
Tang Yue was slammed into the wall, and the street beneath her feet instantly shattered. Half of the Nine Palaces Fire Array dissipated on the spot, and the remaining flames were blown askew by the demonic wind, swirling up the crumbling walls on both sides.
Mo Fan felt a sudden tightness in his chest.
"Teacher Tang Yue!"
He had already sprinted forward.
But the Winged Wolf's attack wasn't over yet. Using the momentum of its pounce, it pushed forward, about to crash completely into the passage and tear the last group of evacuees to pieces.
Mo Fan's mind went completely blank.
The fire element has just broken through to the intermediate level, and its star chart is not yet stable. The lightning element, on the other hand, is suffering from significant energy depletion.
He was so agitated that only one thought remained in his mind: to kill this beast.
Raise both hands at the same time.
Thunder in the right hand, fire in the left.
All magical energy is gathering inside.
Unlike before, this time Mo Fan was going to concentrate both forces into a single point. The lightning first enveloped the fire, and then the fire twisted along with the lightning, as if he were forcibly squeezing a clump of explosive material into a needle. The temperature in his palm was frighteningly high, his skin was aching, and the edges of the surrounding water were scalding and hissing.
"Get out of here!"
A thin, gleaming beam of lightning instantly tore through the rain.
too fast.
It wasn't like a wave, but more like a spear pushed to its limit, slicing through the middle of the street and into the Winged Wolf's chest. Just as Tang Yue's Nine Palaces technique had burned through that patch of flesh, Mo Fan's attack slashed deep into that opening.
boom!
Thunder exploded first.
Dark arcs of electricity pierced through the flesh, then flames poured in, like a bolt of lightning being shoved into a wound. A large patch of charred flesh on the Winged Wolf's chest was ripped open, blood and shattered feathers exploding outwards, and half of its body was knocked to the side.
Its lunge ultimately failed to land precisely in the crowd.
The massive body scraped past the outer wall of the barrier and crashed into the half-collapsed building next to it. The floorboards and walls broke off, and the entire ruined building collapsed with a roar, sending smoke, rain, and rubble into the sky.
The people in front of the evacuation point were thrown over by the blast wave and scrambled into the barrier.
Mo Fan stood there, feeling as if his chest had been emptied, and his whole body felt weak.
That attack was effective!
Suddenly, an even fiercer wolf howl came from the ruins.
The next moment, the collapsed building was violently pushed aside, and the Winged Wolf rose again from the rubble. The wound on its chest was so deep that it reached the bone, and blood dripped down its fur, warm even when it fell into the puddles. But it wasn't dead, nor had it lost its ability to move. Its wolfish eyes pierced through the dissipating dust, fixing directly on Mo Fan, filled with the rage and ferocity of someone enraged.
Mo Fan's throat went dry, and an inexplicable sense of irritation rose within him.
What breed of stray dog is that? It's impossible to kill it!
Tang Yue knelt in the cracked ditch, her left shoulder and waist covered in blood; her armor was shattered. Her breathing was erratic, and her hands trembled as she braced herself on the ground, but she still immediately looked up at the entrance to the barrier.
"How many are left?" she asked, her voice already hoarse.
"Not all of them went in," Mo Fan said.
Tang Yue gritted her teeth and tried to stand up, but as soon as she put her legs up, her body swayed.
The last group of evacuees is just a few steps away.
A military mage was dragging a person back into the barrier, his other hand trembling violently. A little girl was crying in fear, and the light curtain at the edge of the barrier rippled in circles in the gale, as if it might be pounced on again at any moment.
Just then, the second winged wolf took to the air again.
The pair of blood-stained giant wings slowly unfurled under the gray-white sky, casting the entire side road into shadow.
It is adjusting the angle.
It wants to break through in one fell swoop.
Mo Fan raised his hand, only a few scattered strands of lightning and fire flickering in his palm, ridiculously weak. His fire element had just broken through, only to be forcibly drained by him, and his lightning element was also nearly depleted. If it happened again, let alone blocking it, he might not even be able to pull up a complete star orbit.
Tang Yue was wearing armored demonic gear, and she was still beaten like this just now.
What can he use to stop him now?
The wind is getting lower and lower.
The shadow of the winged wolf slowly stretched across the ground, like a gaping blade. The people outside the barrier were desperately trying to crawl in, but they hadn't fully entered yet. If that thing were to pounce, the entire outer section of the road would be torn apart, people and stones alike.
Mo Fan suddenly felt a burning sensation in his chest.
Not just once.
Three scorching energies exploded simultaneously.
Small loach.
Earthly Sacred Spring.
There is also the evil phoenix, which has been dormant in the depths of the soul and has finally been forced to awaken.
Three different kinds of heat seemed to be ignited by the same murderous intent, burning together in his flesh and blood. The feeling was not warm, but scalding, as if something was climbing up his bones, and even his breath tasted of fire.
Mo Fan slowly raised his head, looking at the Winged Wolf preparing to swoop down again in the sky, his mouth full of the taste of blood.
The three burning sensations in his chest grew stronger and stronger, as if they were about to set his chest on fire.
next second!
The water beneath Mo Fan's feet suddenly began to boil.
