The Ultimate Fire Master of Avatar

Chapter 78: The final step – confess honestly?

Chapter 78: The final step – confess honestly?

"You mean your mother might be running off with her ex-boyfriend?"

After hearing all the information that Kahn had gathered, Azura's expression was indescribable.

"Well, you can't say that entirely, and it's not important anyway."

Kahn scratched his cheek awkwardly.

Discussing gossip about each other's mothers with friends can be so embarrassing that it could make him dig a hole in the floor with his toes.

"The important thing is the existence of the Mother of Gods, she might know something, and might even have directly helped her. If we could meet her..."

"But we don't have time to gamble on that luck."

Azura pointed out the problem sharply.

According to Misu, the Mother of Faces only visits the Valley of Forgetfulness once a quarter, meaning there are only four opportunities to see her each year. When she arrives, various face symbols appear on the plants and animals of the forest.

At this time, her subordinate wolf spirit will randomly choose one of the three lakes in the forest to stop and drink, and the Mother of Face will also stay there for a while.

If someone is lucky enough to choose the right lake and encounter the Mother of Face, they can ask her for help; otherwise, the Mother of Face will leave after the wolf spirit finishes drinking.

The wolf spirit's drinking time was only a few minutes.

In other words, you only have a few minutes each quarter to see the Mother of the Face, and that's assuming you choose the right lake, because the distance between the three lakes is far too great to be covered in just a few minutes.

This illustrates just how difficult it is to meet the Mother of the Face.

The two obviously didn't have as much time and patience as Misu and the others, nor did they like to gamble on that elusive luck. However, after hearing Kahn's information about the Mother of Faces, Azura immediately came up with a number of brilliant ideas.

"If we burn down the entire forest, leaving only those three lakes, then no matter which lake the Mother of the Face appears in, wouldn't we be able to see her immediately?"

"Also, if the lake is her residence, would she respond if we simply 'knocked' on the door?"

"Of course not!"

Kahn could only admit his inferiority to Azura's wildly imaginative plans and quickly stopped her from having such dangerous ideas.

He said speechlessly:

"Do you think gods are just some simple wish-granting mechanism? They have their own thoughts too!"

"Doing this will only anger the Mother of Faces. Not only will we not get any information, but it's also uncertain whether we'll even survive."

"Hmph, no matter how good she is, can she defeat the Iron Fleet?"

Azura scoffed dismissively, appearing somewhat annoyed.

If it were dealing with a person, she could come up with a thousand ways to get them to reveal information, but if the other party was some inexplicable deity, that was completely outside her knowledge.

She hated these kinds of uncontrollable situations.

However, although she didn't know how to deal with deities, there was clearly an expert present, so she asked Kahn:

"So, what are your thoughts, Mr. 'Bridge'?"

"I do have an idea, but it takes a lot of time, and I haven't thought it through yet."

Kahn rested his chin on his hand and pondered.

As a Spirit Master, even though he didn't meet the Mother of Face at the time, he could still sense many traces she left in the Valley of Forgetfulness.

Unlike Misu, an ordinary person who relies purely on luck, if it were him, he should have been able to capture some clues through [spirit] before the Mother of Face descended, thus accurately determining the location of her descent.

However, while this does give one a significant advantage over others, it is still far from enough, because the Mother of Faces only descends once a quarter, making the chances too small.

Kahn believed that since spirit control was the oldest means for humans to communicate with the gods, it shouldn't be limited to simply waiting for the gods to appear. Perhaps in higher-level applications, spirit control possessed techniques for actively communicating with the gods.

At this point, his plan became crystal clear—

Continue to study the art of spirit control until you can actively communicate with the gods, and then negotiate with the Mother of Faces.

Although learning spirit control techniques also takes time, it's much better than waiting aimlessly. Moreover, while improving oneself, one can also take control of the situation, killing multiple birds with one stone.

Of course, it's not all good things.

Just as he had been struggling with before, Gurupask was the only being in the world who could teach him, but his ability to see through everything made him somewhat afraid.

His identity as a time traveler is his biggest secret. What kind of impact would it have if it were exposed?

On the way back, Kahn kept thinking about this problem.

The most profound impact was probably on his relationship with Airo. Their connection began and stemmed from his identity as the son of Airo's fallen comrade.

But if Airo knew that his comrade's son had died long ago, and that he had been taking care of a stranger all along, it's hard to imagine how Airo would react.

Optimistically, given their deep friendship over the years, they might let it go with a laugh; but pessimistically, while Airo certainly wouldn't fight him, it's not impossible that they would become complete strangers from then on.

As for the others, the problem doesn't seem to be too big.

Perhaps his original identity gave him the opportunity to meet his current friends, but the reason they became friends was not because of his original identity; in fact, it could be said that it was an obstacle.

Whether it's Zuko, May, or Terry, they might be shocked when they hear the news, but it shouldn't affect their friendship.

Of course, these are all optimistic guesses, and nobody knows what the actual situation is.

As for Azura, there's not much to say about her.

Although he could never figure out what she was thinking, if Azura changed her attitude towards him because of this, then he would just give up. Why should he keep suffering here? Wouldn't it be better to go out and travel the world by himself?

Ultimately, his consideration of this issue was simply to help her investigate clues about Ershu's disappearance.

As for whether his identity as a transmigrator would have any impact on the world, he felt it was best not to overestimate himself in a world with magic, magical creatures, gods, and Avatar abilities.

Having figured all this out, Kahn felt much more at ease. Looking at Azura beside him, he suddenly said:

"Azura, there's a secret I've always wanted to tell you, but I want to tell you today."

"What?"

Azura was taken aback by this seemingly random statement.

Kahn continued:

"Actually, I am a time traveler; my soul comes from another world."

"ha?.!"

Azura looked confused, but then seemed to understand something and her expression changed instantly.

She immediately placed her hand on his forehead, feeling its warmth, and hesitated as she said:

"Are you out of your mind? You don't feel hot to the touch. Did you eat anything hallucinogenic on the way here?"

"Never mind, I'll go get the doctor."

"No. It's alright, I'm fine."

Kahn said helplessly.

Frankly speaking, even if he confesses honestly, it's questionable whether others will believe his story.

I didn't finish my liver yesterday (sneak peek).

The good news is that the results of the first defense are out, and I passed. I only need to revise my paper and don't need to participate in the second defense!

Yay!!!

There will definitely be two updates today as usual, the only question is whether I can skip yesterday's one.

Well, I'll owe it to you for now.
