Chapter 114 Meeting

Lah Town remained the same peaceful and tranquil town, but Azura and Zuko had no time to savor its tranquil atmosphere. As soon as they entered the town, they rushed to Aiken and Ershu's residence under Kahn's guidance.

Kahn had already detected their presence using his clairvoyance and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Aiken did not choose to run away again and left with Ershu and Xiaojiyi, otherwise he would have been in for a real headache.

Thinking this, Kahn glanced at the two people behind him.

But now I'm not the one who should be having a headache.

"We've arrived just ahead."

Finally arriving at Ershu's house, Kahn pointed to the house in front of them and gestured to them. Upon hearing this, Zuko immediately became very alert and nervously swallowed.

"Does Mother live here?"

"Stop talking nonsense and let's go!"

Azura urged them on impatiently, but secretly slowed down, quietly trailing behind.

"Knock knock knock!"

Kahn went up and knocked on the door. A moment later, the door was opened, and it was Aiken who opened it for them.

Upon seeing Kahn, Aiken paused, his expression becoming complex, and he spoke with a mixture of emotion and helplessness:

"You've arrived."

Then, he looked at Zuko and Azura behind Kahn. Although they had never met before, he could vaguely see the resemblance between the two and Ershu in their faces, so he made a judgment in his mind.

"You must be Ershu's children, Prince Zukou and Prince Azula."

"Yes, you must be Uncle Aiken, right? Thank you for taking care of Mother all these years."

Zuko responded politely.

He already knew Ershu's specific situation, and therefore understood the complex relationship between the person in front of him and him.

He actually had no complaints about Aiken. From what he knew, he could tell that his mother and he were truly in love, and he chose to support Ershu's decision.

The issues between them are indeed somewhat complicated, but Ershu's problem is the most important right now, and other issues can only be put on hold for the time being.

"Oh, it's alright."

Hearing Zuko say this, Aiken was somewhat surprised, but mostly pleased. To receive these words from Zuko was a tremendous recognition and encouragement for him.

Zu Kou then asked:

"Is Mother Empress Dowager inside now?"

Before Aiken could answer, a woman's voice came from inside the house—

"Darling, who's here?"

Upon hearing this voice, Zuko and Azura were both startled.

Although the voice was different from the one they remembered Er Shu from, they all knew that the owner of the voice was undoubtedly their mother!

"It was Kahn and his friends."

Aiken turned around and responded, then stepped aside to gesture for them to come in first, before reminding them:

"She's inside, but she hasn't regained her memories yet, so please don't frighten her. She's still Noriko."

"Yes, I understand."

Zuko nodded solemnly, and the three of them followed Aiken into the house.

Before they could even sit down, suddenly, accompanied by a cheerful and energetic shout, a small figure rushed out of the room and hugged Kahn's leg.

"Kahn, you're here!"

"Long time no see, Kii-chan."

Looking down at little Kii, who was hanging directly on his lap, Kahn chuckled and lifted her up. Amidst her joyful gasp, he weighed her in his hand and teased, "..."

"Huh? Why does it seem like I've gotten heavier?"

"Because I've grown taller!"

Have you practiced the moves I taught you properly?

"have!"

"Kahn, who is she?"

Zuko looked at little Jii, his face showing hesitation, but he already had a guess in his heart. At this moment, Aiken, who was standing next to him, chimed in:

"She is our daughter, named Kii. Come on, Kii, say hello to your two older brothers and sisters."

"Hello, brother! Hello, sister!"

Little Kii wasn't shy at all and greeted Zuko and Azura with great enthusiasm.

Azura didn't react to this. Ever since she saw Aiken, she had remained silent, seemingly lost in thought.

Zuko walked up to Kii with a smile and replied with a smile:

"Hello, Kii. My name is Zuko, and the lady next to me is Azura. It's nice to meet you."

Upon hearing Zuko's introduction, little Kii exclaimed excitedly, "Are you my older brother and sister?!"

Upon hearing this, Zuko looked at her in surprise, then at Aiken.

Aiken explained:

"I have already confessed everything to Noriko, who is also Ershu, because I cannot make the decision for her. In fact, it was her own choice to want to regain her memories."

"During this time, Kii also heard some things and thus learned of your existence."

"I see. You are such a kind person."

As Zuko realized this, he praised Aiken.

Aiken responded with a wry smile:

"Don't say that. I actually have a selfish reason for doing this."

When he confessed everything to Noriko, he was actually thinking that if Noriko was unwilling to regain her memories, he would immediately take his whole family away and hide in a place where no one could find them, to live their own lives.

Unfortunately, Ershu's choice did not go as he wished.

"Long time no see, Kahn. Welcome."

At that moment, Noreiko came out of the kitchen, greeted Kahn with a smile, and then looked at Zuko and Azura, pausing for a moment.

Noreiko's appearance bears no resemblance to Ershu, but both Zuko and Azura know that the person in front of them is their mother. Being stared at by Noreiko makes them inexplicably nervous, and they don't even dare to breathe.

The next second, Noreiko snapped out of her daze, gave an apologetic smile, and nodded to the two of them, saying:

"I'm cooking now, let's all eat together first."

"Okay, okay!"

Zu Kou responded quickly, his nervousness clearly visible.

He didn't know what he was so nervous about, since his mother hadn't regained her memory and didn't remember him.

After a while, the food was ready, and everyone sat around the table to eat. The food was simple, but even Azura, who was usually the most picky, didn't complain.

At the dinner table, Aiken and Noriko did not deliberately bring up their past, but chatted casually as usual. Zuko actively participated, wanting to learn more about Ershu's experiences over the years, and the atmosphere made him feel very at ease.

Azura remained silent, but Kahn could tell she had been paying close attention to Zul'Gurub's conversation. Kahn quietly asked her:

"Don't you want to say anything?"

Azura glanced at him disdainfully and said:

"That woman isn't even a mother yet, what's there to say?"

She said this, but her attention was focused on the conversation between Zuko and Noriko, which didn't seem convincing at all.

Saying one thing and meaning another.

Kahn silently complained to himself, but dared not provoke her too much.

Not long ago, Azura was still very impatient, seemingly eager to meet Ershu and help her regain her memories, but now she is silent, and her demeanor is completely different from usual.

Azura must be feeling quite conflicted right now.
