Iron and Blood: A Triumph of the Will
Chapter 95 Everything is Ready
The meeting room was completely silent.
All eyes were on the young man standing at the door.
"So it's the Premier."
Scheidemann looked at Joachim's face, then at his colleagues who were frozen in place, and said, "Come and sit down."
Now everyone is wondering what Joachim is thinking.
Did he hear those words or not?
Did you still not hear those words?
He had been standing outside the whole time!
Or are we only just getting outside now?
Nobody understands it, nobody can figure it out.
Even Sheldon himself couldn't understand it, and in the end he could only pretend he hadn't heard those words.
He gestured expressionlessly to the head seat, indicating that Joachim should sit down.
Joachim's gaze swept over the men who had stood up, his face remaining expressionless.
He immediately set off, striding past the few stunned men.
Heinrich, who was behind him, had already quickly stepped forward and pulled out a seat for him.
After Joachim sat down, Heinrich served him.
Taking documents out of his briefcase, Joachim looked up and asked, "What, is the meeting over?"
"How can it be considered a meeting if the Prime Minister isn't even here?"
Sheldon glared at the group of guys with a look of exasperation, then calmly smoothed things over for them.
"Is that so?" Joachim placed the documents on the table and finally turned his gaze to the group of men. "Then what are you guys standing there for?"
It seems he doesn't know.
Robert Schmidt and the others felt as if they had been granted a pardon upon hearing this.
The heart that was just in my throat has finally been put back in its place.
But they had only just returned to their seats and hadn't even sat down yet...
Joachim, however, dropped a bombshell: "So, does that mean the proposal was passed?"
dong dong dong ......
Everyone present had their hearts pounding!
This has finally brought the truth to the surface.
"What, what proposal?"
Shedeman continued speaking, trying to evade the question.
He did have a conflict with Schmidt and the others.
That's true, but ultimately they are still members of the same party.
If you can protect one option, you should naturally protect the other.
"Since you're going to keep pretending to be confused, then I'll make things clear."
Joachim glanced at him indifferently, then looked away: "Who just proposed the impeachment motion?"
"If you want to be the Chancellor of Germany, you might as well stand up and say so!"
Now that things have come to this point, if anyone were to jump out again, wouldn't that be blatantly admitting their intention to usurp power?
How will they explain that then?
What's the point of explaining anymore? Now they're all traitors!
No sooner had he finished speaking than Heinrich, standing behind Joachim, immediately turned around and patted the window behind him: "Guards!"
The words had barely left his mouth!
A dozen armed guards burst into the conference room.
This is undoubtedly a show of force!
Schmidt and the others were so frightened by this action that they turned pale and didn't know how to respond.
"Nobody wants to be prime minister."
Scheidemann looked at the guards and said calmly, "Joachim, you are the prime minister appointed by President Abbott."
"Don't you guys think so?"
"Yes, nobody wants to usurp power."
Staring at the cold muzzle of the gun, Schmidt swallowed hard.
This is a real threat to one's life; no one wants to joke about their own life.
"Alright, since you all consider me the prime minister."
"So, you won't object to the appointments I'm about to make, will you?"
"No...no!"
The Social Democrats who had instigated the trouble were now terrified, their teeth chattering uncontrollably.
How does the German right wing deal with far-left elements?
They know it better than anyone else.
They not only knew about it, but some people were even involved.
"Then, the Cabinet meeting is now officially convened."
"OK......."
The guys nodded repeatedly, and their stiff bodies finally began to move.
He returned to his seat, utterly dejected.
They each pulled out their own chairs and were just about to sit down.
Heinrich, standing behind Joachim, coldly interrupted him: "You'll all just stand there and listen!"
"Why are we also cabinet members?"
"That's no longer the case from now on."
As Joachim spoke, he looked down and pulled a letter from his briefcase: "So, effective immediately, Labor Minister Gustav Bauer, Economy Minister Rudolf Seville, and Food Minister Robert Schmidt, you are all dismissed because I am dissatisfied with your work."
"As of now, there are strikes all over the country, and Labor Minister Gustaf Bauer has not done his job."
"The economy had not recovered even months after the ceasefire, and Economy Minister Rudolf Seville was therefore derelict in his duties."
"As for you, Minister of Food Robert Schmidt, you have yet to find a way to make up for the food shortage, which has caused the entire nation to go hungry."
"I don't want to say anything more. Someone will take over your positions later."
"In addition to these, you are prohibited from carrying out any administrative work or public activities in the German Republic, and from engaging in any political activities, whether directly or indirectly, especially during my term, you will be subject to German official surveillance."
"If we find that you have not complied with any of the above instructions, then you will be tried by a military court."
With a rapid twist of the pen, several handwritten termination notices were thrown onto the table.
Finally, Joachim slammed his fist on the table: "Sign here to show that you have received this termination letter."
"......"
Several dismissed Social Democrats unanimously turned their attention to Robert Schmidt.
The latter fell silent, but his face was unusually ashen.
He glanced at his companions, then finally fixed his gaze on Defense Minister Gustav Nosk.
There was confusion and questioning in those eyes... Why isn't your name on this?
Did you betray us?
Gustav Nosk, meanwhile, was also somewhat dazed, seemingly processing the information.
Just as Shedeman was about to offer some advice, Joachim interrupted him by banging on the table.
He really didn't want to show any mercy to these Social Democrats.
When the nation was in peril, the first thing they thought of was not fighting the French!
Or is it infighting among their own people?
If it weren't for Shodemann's sake...
Given his personality, he would have dragged all those infighting guys out and shot them long ago.
Why would I keep them alive to cause trouble?
Joachim slammed his fist on the table again: "It's settled then. Are you going to sign or not?"
