The Bizarre Adventure of the Warhammer Guard

Chapter 56 Success and the Extraterrestrial Visitors

In the capital of Antiga, as the first rays of dawn pierced the smoke-filled sky, the gunfire had largely ceased.

The streets were filled with jubilant crowds. Although bullet holes and burn marks remained on the buildings, and the air was thick with the faint smell of blood and burnt flesh, the expressions on people's faces showed a hope they hadn't seen in years.

By this time, Kerrigan had returned to the outskirts of the base. She stood on a high ground, a series of data flashing on her goggles.

The various rebel detachments are clearing out the remaining Federation forces. The Federation command center has been completely eliminated, and even General Duke, who came to reinforce from space, has surrendered.

"Hey, honey," a voice called from behind her, "Why are you here all alone?"

Looking back, there was Renault, who had already been through a battle. His gray power armor was covered in dust and bullet holes, and his helmet visor was open, revealing a worried expression.

"Shut up," Kerrigan snapped, then continued, "Are all three of those big guys really that exaggerated?"

“That’s true,” Renault replied. “I feel that any one of them could take care of the whole of Antiga.”

A complex emotion flickered in Kerrigan's eyes: awe, doubt, and a barely perceptible unease. The power of these mysterious warriors had surpassed all her understanding of genetically enhanced soldiers.

Their power armor remained undamaged after charging into battle. Their fighting style on the battlefield was brutal and highly efficient.

"Do you know where they come from?" Kerrigan turned to look at Raynor beside her. "I've been involved in many secrets, but I've never heard of a force like this."

"Don't worry," Renault said, gazing into those bright eyes, somewhat lost in thought. "At least they protect civilians and hate the Zerg. Besides, I have a pretty good relationship with their leader."

“Jim,” Kerrigan said, her tone becoming more serious, “every leader has his own secret purposes, and he may not be what you see.”

"Are you concerned about me?" Renault asked with a smile, looking at the red-haired woman beside him.

"Narcissist." Kerrigan rolled her eyes at Reno, turned and walked away. "Come on, cowboy, mission accomplished."

Three days later, the temporarily formed "Antija Freedom Committee" held a simple declaration ceremony in front of the old Federation administrative building. They would officially secede from the Federation today and lead all colonies in the Antija system to join the Sons of Korhal.

Mengsk also used holographic projection to discuss matters with local resistance leaders.

After a series of negotiations, Antiga agreed to replenish the Sons of Korhal's manpower, manufacture weapons and equipment, provide logistical support, and promised to support Mengsk himself as leader after overthrowing the Federation.

Of course, Antigia will receive a seat in the cabinet of the regime that Mengsk will establish in the future, as well as preferential treatment in construction resources.

Elpis was also invited to participate in the consultations, but he declined, sending only Loken as an envoy to listen in without offering any opinions.

During the meeting, Mengsk's eyes flashed with a barely perceptible light when he saw Loken.

None of the others noticed, except for Kerrigan, who was born with psionic abilities, who caught the unusual glint in her eye. It wasn't praise for an ally, but rather an assessment, or even a hint of apprehension.

During the meeting, Mengsk finalized the next steps: Tarsanis, the capital planet of the Federation.

The general public initially disagreed with this audacious plan, after all, even a weakened camel is bigger than a horse, and the Federation's capital city had at least thirty Leviathan-class warships and three Behemoth-class strategic cruisers.

Most importantly, there is the Federation's ultimate weapon, the Gorgon-class warship, which is even larger than the Behemoth-class.

But Mengsk revealed that he had found the secret weapon to defeat the Federation: the psionic transmitter blueprints he obtained on Mar-Sala.

Research on the psionic transmitter has now made progress, and a finished product can be produced in just a few more weeks.

At that time, as long as a gap is torn in the orbital defense system above Tarsonis, people can be sent to deploy psionic transmitters so that the Zerg can deal with the Federation's fleet and defense forces.

After that, the Son of Korhal will be able to solve the two major problems effortlessly.

No one knows what the consequences will be of luring the Zerg to fight their own people, but faced with a Federation of overwhelming odds, the rebels will stop at nothing.

Meanwhile, aboard Norard II, Loken had returned to the flagship after the meeting and was reporting the meeting's contents to Elpis in a conference room. Elpis listened silently, while Ada took notes on a data tablet beside him.

Just then, the lights in the conference room flickered, the cabin shook slightly, and the warship's alarms were not triggered. This was not due to an enemy attack, but rather some kind of psionic interference.

Loken immediately looked around, raised his explosive pistol, and stood in a defensive stance, vigilantly observing any possible anomalies. Ada did the same; she drew her greatsword from her back, covering the blade with an untouchable field, and surveyed her surroundings.

Then, one circle of lights after another went out, from the outside in, until finally, only the one above Elpis and his two companions remained.

Elpis keenly detected the faint psionic energy permeating the air. It was not like the violent and chaotic psionic energy in the Warhammer universe, but rather more docile, concealed, and less powerful.

Elpis seemed to sense something and instantly looked toward a brightly lit open space.

Space rippled and trembled violently, like water being stirred by an invisible hand. A dark green wisp of smoke appeared out of nowhere, forming a vortex, and then a strange figure emerged.

It was a humanoid creature about two and a half meters tall. Its skin was a smooth, grayish-white color, its muscles were strong, its body was slender, and its head was covered with wrinkles.

You can see that his hands have four fingers and his toes have two fingers, both with relatively sharp nails.

He wore armor that only covered his shoulders, knees, and insteps, and a wrist guard that covered his entire forearm on his right wrist. Each of these armors was inlaid with a strange dark green gem that emitted psionic energy fluctuations.

The rest of his body was covered by dark purple robes, and he also had a dark red cloak draped over his back.

His face was covered by a long, dark purple cloth that hung down to his waist, revealing only a pair of eyes that emitted a green glow.

Most notably, there was a tuft of broken "hair" at the back of his head. Elpis immediately recognized that it was not hair, but a bundle of nerve fibers that had been severed for some unknown reason.

"Alien!" Loken shouted.

He immediately opened fire with his bomb gun, and several explosive shells pierced the air, heading straight for the suddenly appearing mysterious creature.
