Hell has invaded, but my Hextech is invincible!
Chapter 25 The United Front: My Command
Ten minutes later.
The enormous biogas tank exploded with a deafening roar.
A small mushroom cloud rose with a roar, accompanied by flames and thick smoke. The powerful blast wave swept away all the buildings near the biogas digester. If it weren't for the huge factory area blocking the blast wave, this area would have been completely razed to the ground.
Even though Hextech was hiding about 800 meters away from the United Textile Factory, he could feel a wave of heat hitting him, let alone the workers inside the factory.
However, the biogas tank is located on the northwest side of the factory area.
The area was sparsely populated, and the tanks were located at a relatively high elevation, which is why no one was killed or injured.
The explosion was just the beginning. After the tank ruptured, the entire biogas area instantly burst into flames, which spread wildly along the factory structure, sending thick smoke billowing into the sky.
The workers were terrified and scattered in all directions, rushing like madmen towards various parts of the lower town. The once orderly factory area was instantly thrown into chaos.
Ida put the pocket watch back into her breast pocket.
"Lead the way, Mr. Horus."
A strange feeling swept through Hextech's mind.
In the early stages of the game, the United Front is the protagonist's biggest enemy.
The main characters and their subordinate squads fought fiercely, suffering immense torment.
Especially Ada, this character torments the protagonist in the story and the player in the dungeons.
But now, this ruthless character who should have been his mortal enemy has become his collaborator and even obeys his commands.
No one knew the horrors of the United Front better than him.
After all, he often releases walkthroughs for the first clear of the main storyline, making him one of the players who suffers the most.
Hextech pursed his lips, then suddenly waved his hand: "Remember."
"The workers who remain in the factory area and refuse to leave must be die-hard members of the Adventists."
"No need to be polite, kill them without mercy."
These menacing words instantly brought a savage, excited grin to Benev's face.
"Horus, you're becoming more and more to my liking!"
Benev slammed the bolt back on his rifle and growled, "Go! Kill them all!"
A dozen enhanced soldiers immediately leaped from the three-story rooftop and, with highly professional tactical posture, rapidly advanced towards the burning textile factory.
Hex pulled Emily into his arms, and Emily's expression changed drastically: "You want to..."
Before he could finish speaking, Hex also leaped off the rooftop.
"Aaaaaaahhhhh!!"
-----------------
Lehner was the head of the second workshop at the United Textile Mill, one of the fifty workshop supervisors, and thus considered a middle-level manager in the factory.
The factory manager has promised him that he will process his Shangcheng District identity certificate tomorrow.
After a lifetime of struggle, he was finally about to join the upper-middle class and become a respectable member of the upper class.
This is the reward he earned for treating the factory like his own home and for having no major safety accidents for thirty consecutive months.
Today he dressed exceptionally well, washed his jeans and put on a brand-new felt hat, intending to finish his last job working for the common people in the city and bring a perfect end to the first half of his life.
As long as nothing goes wrong today, his bright future is just around the corner.
What people fear most often comes to pass.
With a deafening explosion, all the glass in the entire factory area shattered instantly.
Countless workers screamed and fell to the ground, blood seeping from their ears.
The second workshop where Lekner was located was closest to the biogas digester, and he immediately realized that the biogas digester had exploded.
His mind went blank.
His longed-for new life and his identity documents from the Upper City District all vanished completely with that loud bang.
The United Textile Factory is finished.
The factory manager is finished.
He's finished too.
The wailing finally brought him back to his senses.
He discovered that the explosion had brought the machines to a sudden stop, many of his coworkers were injured, and the fire outside was growing larger, so he immediately began to organize an evacuation.
Lakener could have escaped with the crowd, but the thought of the crucial sample he hadn't taken from the production line—his last hope for negotiating with higher-ups—driven him by an inexplicable obsession, led him to turn and rush into the second workshop, where the fire was spreading.
Perhaps if he gets this sample, the higher-ups will give him another chance.
But when he arrived at the sample area, he found that there were still more than a dozen workers there.
"What are you doing? Get out of here! The fire is coming!" Lakener shouted.
However, the dozen or so workers slowly turned their heads and stared at him with a strange and inexplicable look.
A tall worker with a face blackened by smoke asked the short man next to him in a low voice.
"Are they one of our own?"
The short man scrutinized Lakener for a moment, then shook his head.
"He is the workshop supervisor."
Seeing that they were still talking, Lakener shouted anxiously, "Get out of here!"
"Since he's not one of us, let's kill him," the tall man said coldly.
The next second, the short man and several people around him simultaneously pulled out revolvers from their waists.
The moment he saw the gun barrel, Lakener's mind went completely blank. He couldn't understand why his coworkers were pointing guns at him.
"Wait, I'm leaving, I'm leaving right now! Why are you..." He backed away repeatedly.
Gunshots rang out suddenly.
Lakener screamed and suddenly crouched down, clutching his head.
After a barrage of bullets, only the crackling sound of burning flames remained all around.
"There's one more here."
A rough, booming voice rang out.
Lekner looked up, trembling, and saw a dozen soldiers in black standing on the corpses of the cultists.
The leader was a very tall, muscular man.
Standing beside him was a taller, more robust man holding a little girl in his arms.
They were all wearing dust masks.
"Let's just take them all out." The tall, burly man pressed a gun against Laker's forehead.
Lechner was terrified and screamed wildly, "Don't kill me!"
Please!
"Wait." Hex pushed Benev's gun away.
"We don't have time to assess him," Benev said coldly.
Hex ignored him and looked down at Lakener: "If you want to live, repeat after me."
"The fifth demon god of hell, Malbus, is mentally challenged."
"The intelligence of Demon Lord Calodos is comparable to that of a paramecium."
Lekner didn't understand what the sentence meant at all, but he still stammered and repeated it verbatim.
"The fifth demon god of hell, Malbus, is mentally challenged, and the Demon Lord Kalodos's intelligence is comparable to that of a paramecium..."
"Very good." Hex pointed to the exit.
"Get out of here."
Lakener felt like he had been granted a pardon and scrambled out of the room.
Benev clicked his tongue: "You seem ruthless, but you're actually soft-hearted."
"We are not serial killers," Hextech said, turning around.
"And I can save them if I want to."
"The cultists of the Advent movement are just as good as the fanatics of the orthodox churches."
"No matter how well they disguise themselves, as long as they curse the god they believe in, they'll still be defeated."
"It will break through immediately."
"No cultist dares to blaspheme their own god."
Hex entered the second workshop, which was filled with the glow of fire.
He had been here in the game, but back then it was a monster's lair.
He cleared out the outer perimeter first before making his way here.
He glanced around, walked to the window, and pressed an inconspicuous red button.
"Click—"
A steel plate slowly rose from the ground, revealing a deep, dark underground passage.
Ada walked up to him and said with a forced smile, "If you hadn't made him curse the devil just now..."
"I would even think that you yourself are a cultist of the Advent movement."
"You actually managed to get your hands on this level of classified information."
Hex chuckled softly, but said nothing.
Just kidding, I made this walkthrough, the first one to complete the entire site.
