Chapter 87 A Comeback
She dreamt of Logan, and when she woke up in the morning, the sheets were soaking wet.
But she believed it was just a dream, a subtle instinct brought about by something unique to women in her slightly protruding belly.
Instinct led her to make one request after another to Logan.
She was just playing around with Logan.
That was her original belief.
But as she watched the puppy grow stronger and stronger, she became afraid of losing control of her emotions. She was afraid that one day, she would wake up to find the collar that had been around his neck on her own.
I was afraid, yet there was also a faint sense of anticipation.
Thinking of this, she spat lightly.
What am I really thinking?
Adele's hands wrapped even tighter around her.
"I came today to buy some more medicine, and also to ask about the roll you have."
Adele kissed Logan on the cheek.
"There's plenty of potion, and as for the scrolls... there are some interesting ones."
Reluctantly, she pushed Logan away and swayed back to the counter.
"A basic healing potion, or," Adele leaned against the counter, her large, soft curves resting on it, "an intermediate healing potion?"
"I remember I promised you that if one day a woman damaged your private parts, I could give you a folded shirt."
She licked her red lips, a half-smile playing on her lips.
"Look at this little wildcat clinging to you..." Adele winked her alluring eyes at Logan. "The half-price promise still stands. If you find yourself struggling, or if she breaks any of your parts, just let me know."
"Beginner level is enough. My current physical condition doesn't require intermediate level."
Logan smiled and gently took Elsa's hand.
Elsa turned her head away, still saying nothing, but her bright blue eyes looked at Adele with a charming gaze, her chin slightly raised, as if she were thinking about something.
Elsa knew perfectly well what the flamboyant Tyflin in front of her was thinking. But she didn't care. She had grown up listening to Arlando's stories and knew all along that Logan wouldn't only have her by his side.
As long as other people are useful to Logan.
She doesn't mind sharing with others.
From the moment they signed the contract, she and Logan were bound together, literally inseparable.
A one-way contract, a contract that Logan was unaware of.
Logan will be like a lighthouse in the darkness, his location always known to Elsa, no matter where he is; their life energies influence and amplify each other. Conversely, if Logan dies, Elsa's life force will also be extinguished.
The god of shadows and paranoia is also an absolute obsession with love.
Therefore, in Elsa's eyes, a contract deeper than marriage had been etched into her soul, and as long as she could stay by his side, she didn't care if Logan used other women.
But that didn't stop her from teasing the slightly stiff-faced Tiflin in front of her.
Elsa held Logan's hand in return, their fingers intertwined tightly, looking very sweet.
Adele felt her eyelids twitching. She thought of the scene she had encountered in her dream the day before yesterday—this annoying half-elf girl was crawling on top of Logan, while she was tied tightly to the foot of the bed, unable to do anything.
Damn.
She patted her face, banishing the terrifying memory, turned around, and took out two bottles of [Basic Healing Potion] and one bottle of [Beast Hunting Potion].
Seeing Logan's puzzled expression at the extra bottle of medicine, Adele smiled and shook the glass bottle containing the yellow liquid.
"Consider this a celebratory gift for your successful entry into the realm of the extraordinary." Adele's eyes were alluring as she deliberately lowered her voice. "[Beast Hunting Potion] can temporarily enhance your sense of smell. In this perilous forest, it can help you sniff out the location of prey faster than others... or other dangerous scents."
Of course, it's also a payment I'm making in advance for what's to come.
Men can spend money on women.
Why can't women spend money on men instead?
Thinking of this, my earlier frustration vanished.
The reel Logan provided was placed under the counter.
This is a secret she shares with Logan, and she can make good use of it.
Then, they came from behind and surpassed others.
"As for the scroll, I've made some significant progress... but there are some key details that I can only discuss with you privately." Adele glanced meaningfully at Elsa.
Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Just say what you want to say. Elsa isn't an outsider. She'll listen to anything I say."
No, she can't hear it.
Adele's tail gently patted the cabinet behind her.
"This scroll involves ancient magic, and I need to use magic to show you part of its true contents. But during this process, I cannot be distracted by protecting another person... At best, they will go insane; at worst, they will die."
These words are half true and half false.
Logan frowned slightly. He didn't know if Adele was telling the truth, but he didn't want to take the risk.
Before Logan could even speak, Elsa readily released his hand.
"If that's the case, then I won't listen."
The half-elf girl showed no displeasure or wariness. Instead, she naturally reached out and straightened Logan's slightly wrinkled collar.
She turned her head and even gave Adele, whose face was slightly stiff, a polite smile.
Then she turned her gaze back to Logan, her voice soft, her sapphire-like eyes watery.
"I'm going to the market to buy some food for tomorrow. You stay here and focus on our business. Don't come home too late; I'll be waiting for you at home."
After saying that, Elsa tiptoed slightly and planted a light kiss on Logan's lips.
Her movements and expressions were just like those of a virtuous wife seeing her husband off to run errands.
The wind chimes rang out again, clear and crisp. Elsa had already left, leaving only a faint fragrance.
The herbal shop fell silent.
Adele stood behind the counter, feeling as if a wad of water-soaked cotton had been stuffed into her chest, making it hard for her to breathe.
They clearly won.
She clearly used an excuse to get rid of that annoying half-elf, thus achieving her goal of being alone with Logan.
But Adele felt utterly defeated.
She was severely provoked!
A complex mix of intense humiliation, jealousy, and anger churned wildly in her chest, nearly scalding her reason.
"Now, we can talk about the scroll..."
Logan hadn't finished speaking.
Snapped.
The door to the herbal shop was suddenly locked shut by [Mage's Hand], and the curtains were roughly pulled shut.
Immediately afterwards, a strong herbal and aromatic scent wafted over Logan.
Her long, slender hands danced wildly across Logan's body, armor and clothing falling to the ground one by one...
Then, she shoved Logan against the cabinet behind him, causing the hanging strangler vines to shake violently.
Before Logan, in those dark golden eyes, burned a jealousy and desire that seemed to consume him entirely.
"Fuck the scrolls..."
She gasped for breath, gritting her teeth, and bit Logan's lip hard.
