Starting with the goblin extermination
Chapter 51 The Cat That Stole Fish
Several goblins were squatting on the ground, tearing at a human corpse whose original appearance was unrecognizable with their short, thick fingers.
The internal organs were roughly ripped out, making a disgusting slurping sound.
This is a goblin.
One of the most prolific and repulsive monsters on the continent of Babylon.
The lowest-ranking ordinary goblins are basically no different from wild beasts.
Although they use sharpened sticks or rusty short swords as weapons, they are completely undisciplined.
Only when the population reaches a certain size will individual goblins with rudimentary intelligence emerge. As the population further increases, mutated elite individuals like the Great Goblin will appear, barely exhibiting the rudiments of an army.
The emergence of intelligence taught them to make crude weapons, to draw bows and shoot arrows, and even to use fire, a tool originally belonging only to humans.
But this doesn't mean they've become like the orcs, moving from savagery to civilization; rather, they've become even more ruthless.
Their inherently violent nature, deep within their blood, did not diminish with the emergence of intelligence; on the contrary, it intensified as they learned the perverse pleasure of torture.
Torture and kill prey.
That's what interests them.
Some scholars say they are descendants of sinners cursed by the gods in ancient times.
But some whispered in the shadows that they were born with the protection of some evil god.
After all, the whims of gods are unpredictable and inexplicable. What mortals see as a vicious curse might be a blessing in the eyes of some chaotic gods.
Without the burden of morality, without the condemnation of conscience, one can unleash the most filthy nature in one's heart to commit madness without a care in the world... For a being high above the clouds, this may be the greatest blessing to creation.
However, it was clear that the gods' protection did not save the lives of these goblins.
Swish!
A violent red glow flashed through the dim forest!
Logan crashed through the bushes in front of him and landed right in the middle of the goblins who were feeding.
He did not engage in the goblin hunt with the same caution he had when he first fled to Riverwood.
Having survived life-or-death battles with professionals, he now has the confidence to crush these low-level monsters.
The nearest goblin didn't even have time to turn its head.
The longsword transformed into a gray-white afterimage.
The goblin's hand was still unconsciously stirring its internal organs, but its head had already spun into the air.
The foul-smelling blood shot into the sky like a fountain.
Only after their companion's corpse fell to the ground did the remaining goblins let out a sharp howl.
They frantically picked up the rusty daggers and sticks from the ground, but just as one of them gripped the hilt, a sharp white light pierced its throat.
[Thrust]
Logan drew his longsword expressionlessly.

Immediately afterwards, the third goblin howled and swung its wooden club, smashing it hard against Logan's head.
The tragic death of its companion did not frighten it; instead, it aroused its violent nature.
Logan didn't move an inch.
He merely tilted his wrist slightly, and the longsword deftly flicked in mid-air.
[Parry]
Using the goblin's force against him, the wooden stick was pulled away by a strange force, flying directly from the goblin's hand and crashing to the ground.
Logan then swung his sword backhand, cleanly piercing its chest.
[Proficiency +1]
It was easy, but Logan frowned.
He glanced at the panel; the agility attribute remained unchanged, with no numerical change.
But in the instant he swung his sword and changed direction, his speed did indeed increase.
...?
Logan couldn't figure out the reason.
Let's not think about it for now; this is ultimately a good thing.
The remaining two goblins were finally terrified—it was the instinct of lower creatures facing a predator. They screamed, turned, and fled into the depths of the forest, scrambling on all fours.
Whoosh!
A swift arrow whistled from behind Logan, pinning a goblin to a tree trunk.
"Barron, the last one is yours!"
As soon as Papa finished speaking, a figure carrying a round shield rushed forward.
The young dwarf let out a low growl and slammed his round shield down, smashing it solidly into the back of the last goblin.
A sickening cracking sound rang out, and the goblin was sent flying, rolling twice on the ground.
Before it could get up, Baron strode forward and plunged the short sword in his hand into its eye socket, embedding it in its head.
Clean and neat.
Logan casually flicked the blood off the blade, pulled out a rag, and wiped the longsword clean.
Five ordinary goblins, not even an appetizer, were merely a warm-up for their clearing mission today.
The old dwarf Thorin, pipe in mouth, slowly walked to the corpse.
He drew his dagger and swiftly severed the goblin's right ear, which was the proof of his bounty.
"Hey, you killed three goblins."
Since Elsa is still recovering from her injuries, the scouting work and inventory of the spoils will be handled by the experienced Thorin today.
It feels a little strange without Elsa.
However... if Elsa were here right now, Logan would feel extremely awkward.
To be honest, Logan felt very stiff when he went out this morning.
It's all because I got caught last night.
When Logan returned to his home in the West End last night, it was already quite late. He opened the door, expecting them to be asleep, but to his surprise, a light was still on in the living room.
Elsa sat at the table, wearing a coat, seemingly waiting for him. Seeing him return safely, a barely concealed joy flashed in her cool blue eyes.
Until Lily, that carefree little girl, happily rushed over and hugged him.
"Brother Logan, you're back!"
As soon as Lily pressed her face against his, her small nostrils twitched twice. She lifted her head and sniffed Logan's chest and waist like a puppy.
"The smell of herbs...it smells so good." Lily blinked her big eyes and asked innocently, "Brother Logan, where did you go? And why is your mouth bleeding? Did you get into a fight?"
The atmosphere instantly plummeted to freezing point.
Logan's expression froze instantly. He touched his slightly swollen lips, which even bore bite marks, and cold sweat broke out on his back.
Damn.
The herbal and fragrance scents on Adele were still noticeable. It seemed that even after soaking for over an hour, showering, and changing clothes, the scents wouldn't completely dissipate.
Whether in his past life or now, this is the first time he has faced such a situation.
I have absolutely no experience!
Lily was still young and might not fully understand, but what did this scent mean? How could it possibly escape Elsa's notice?
Logan stiffly raised his head and looked at Elsa.
"It seems Captain Logan's 'negotiations' tonight were quite intense."
Elsa's voice was icy cold. She stood up expressionlessly, not glancing at Logan again, and took Lily's hand directly.
"Lily, it's time to sleep. Captain Logan is tired and needs to rest. Let's not disturb him."
boom.
The bedroom door was closed.
He was left alone, bewildered in the wind.
Logan felt even more hopeless and powerless than facing a bald man's rapid-fire ejaculation.
He was like a husband caught cheating on his wife.
Nevertheless, when Logan was preparing for his mission this morning, a hot breakfast was still laid out on the table.
"Here you go."
As she was leaving, Elsa didn't look him in the eye; she simply shoved the prepared dry rations into Logan's arms in a cold voice.
"Remember to come back soon."
She was clearly still angry.
