I am the Executioner Dragon, but a cute mod.

Chapter 46: Mission a Complete Success

How hard is it to accept your own death? Superman's father couldn't answer that question, but he knew that if he didn't die here, the people he cherished would die because of him.

To prevent this ending from becoming a reality, Superman's father willingly became the sole sacrifice of this mission. Even if he died in the underground world and was devoured by giant beasts and demons after death, he had no complaints.

However, just as Superman's father was preparing to face death, he suddenly felt a tingling sensation throughout his body, like an electric current running through him.

He frowned and looked around, trying to find the source of the anomaly, but his situation had changed dramatically.

In the underground world, liquids emitting a blue glow are everywhere. These liquids are not icy cold; compared to the Challenger Deep section of the Mariana Trench, they are even considered warm.

This is because the underground world is located deep within the Earth's crust, where radioactive elements continuously release heat but have nowhere to go, resulting in a higher temperature deep within the crust compared to the surface.

Now, everything has changed. Superman's dad used to be able to see things through the blue fluorescent liquid, but now he can't see anything, and even the slightest warmth around him has been taken away.

This sudden change plunged Superman's father into despair, leaving him feeling utterly disheartened.

He knew very well that he was in the underground world, and the only thing that could have put him in this situation was a giant beast or a demon.

The fact that even he couldn't detect how the enemy attacked him meant that the beast/demon was incredibly powerful.

Even though the invasion of the giant beasts has been temporarily stopped, they will soon return to the surface.

[Before that, I have to do something...]

The thought crossed Superman's mind. He had long considered himself dead, and the reason he was still alive was to do more useful things before he died.

Just as he was thinking about how to find the mastermind behind it all, a familiar voice suddenly rang out in the channel. It was Lilith:

"Welcome back, Dad."

When words tinged with joy reached his ears, Superman's father was stunned, his mind going blank. Lilith's words also surprised the other heroes.

The heroes were puzzled as to why Lilith would say such a thing, but the Deep Sea and the Qi Sect discovered that the density of what was originally just a patch of seawater had increased dramatically, a density that was clearly not something that ordinary creatures could possess.

It wasn't a giant beast, a demon, a superhuman, or an unknown fish. This kind of body density had only been seen on one other person:... Superman.

Overjoyed, they immediately shouted in the channel:

"Dad! You're not dead!"

Upon hearing this, Superman's father immediately snapped out of his daze and realized that he hadn't been hit by an enemy's attack; he had simply returned to the surface of the earth.

But that doesn't make sense.

As Superman's father remained silent, more heroes discovered this blind spot. Given Superman's father's recent situation, his chances of survival were almost zero. So how did he get out?

At this moment, Lilith suddenly coughed twice in the channel to attract everyone's attention, and then spoke smugly:

"Don't overthink it. I'm the one who saved him. How about that? Pretty amazing, right?"

After this was said, there was a moment of silence in the channel before Daddy Superman finally spoke up and asked:

"So, how did I get back here? What did you do?"

Lilith smiled:

"I forgot to mention, as a summoner, I can not only summon familiars to fight in my place, but I can also temporarily form contracts with things in the real world to summon them..."

"You mean, when you contacted Superman's father, you temporarily made a contract with him, which summoned him from the underground world?"

"certainly!"

As Lilith openly admitted it, everyone unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that Lilith was on this mission; otherwise... Daddy Superman might really have died here.

After learning the reason for what happened, Superman's father sincerely thanked Lilith. Then, the group returned to the surface and began their journey back to the super city.

As soon as everyone returned to the megacity, they immediately launched an unprecedented press conference. Under countless cameras and spotlights, and under countless expectant eyes, Superman's father and all the heroes who participated in this operation stood in a row and said:

"For a long time, humanity has lived under the threat of giant beasts and demons. Humanity's land has been attacked and taken away little by little. But from this moment on, I declare... the world belongs to humanity once again."

Upon hearing this, people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and cultures erupted in deafening cheers. The heroes who participated in this operation were regarded as idols by everyone, including Lilith, of course.

Enjoying the admiring gazes of the crowd, Lilith was overjoyed. She suppressed her joy and adopted the composed demeanor befitting a "superhero who has just saved the world," silently basking in the adoration.

Not long after, a crisp system notification sounded in Lilith's mind. When she opened the task panel, she saw the word "Completed" appear after the first side quest.

Seeing this, Lilith's eyes curved into crescents, and she finally couldn't help but laugh out loud. After completing the most difficult side quest one, isn't completing the main quest and side quest two easy?

After the press conference ended, the world did not immediately return to normal. At the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the passage was merely filled with shear-thickening hydrogel, which could only temporarily block the passage connecting to the underground world.

To permanently seal it off, an entire construction team equipped with oxygen masks, under the protection of the Air Cult, reached the bottom of the Mariana Trench. The Air Cult used telekinesis to construct an absolutely solid cavity on the seabed, allowing the construction team to build a monumental project there.

Meanwhile, the other heroes were not idle either. The passage being sealed off only meant that no new behemoths would appear, but before that, many behemoths had come to the surface. After destroying human cities and countries, they wandered aimlessly around the world.

To reclaim these lands, heroes must defeat these behemoths. Led by Daddy Superman, these heroes, centered around the super city, continuously eliminate the roaming behemoths in the vicinity, and the expansion of the super city is also on the agenda.

The special system that originally formed under the apocalypse has gradually begun to give way to the new era. The prototype of the Human Federation was born, and it has gradually improved various human-centered systems.

Everything in the world is moving in a positive direction, but Lilith is troubled by this. After becoming a hero worthy of being recorded in history, Lilith has many ways to complete the side quest "Second Infamy".

Whether it's indulging in pleasure, vying for power, or changing her identity to become the BOSS, Lilith could easily accomplish the infamous mission. However, the main mission—killing the Star Destroyer-class superman, Baiweishov, who invaded Earth—remains completely elusive.

However, judging from the plot developments in anime or novels, after the main characters resolve the disaster on Earth, aliens should be coming to invade Earth.

Maybe this alien is even related to a giant beast/demon by blood.

Lilith pondered for a while, then stopped racking her brains and decided to complete side quest two first, and then figure out a way to complete the main quest...
