I am the Executioner Dragon, but a cute mod.

Chapter 38: Popularity Rises Again

"I've been following you ever since you killed your first behemoth and registered a social media account... Lilith."

As Superman's father finished speaking, his dark eyes calmly looked at Lilith, as if he could see right through her, inside and out.

Lilith wasn't surprised that Superman knew her name; given Superman's status, obtaining his identity information wouldn't be difficult.

Lilith's only question was why Superman's dad, a veteran hero who had been famous for decades, would pay attention to her, since she was just a newcomer to the hero scene.

Is it really as he said, that heroes are the group that should be protected more, and that he is the hero of heroes?

With Superman's father right there, Lilith didn't choose to hide anything in order to find the answer, but instead spoke her mind directly:

"So in your eyes, shouldn't heroes protect ordinary people?"

After hearing this, Superman's dad chuckled:

"I think you may have misunderstood me. Heroes do have an obligation to protect ordinary people, but in my eyes, heroes are just like ordinary people. They are not perfect, they can get hurt, they can feel sad, and they can have their own hobbies."

Most heroes carry too heavy a burden, so I remind them to find a hobby to relax and not be constantly on edge; it's their right as human beings.

"Is that so..."

After hearing this, Lilith suddenly understood what kind of person Superman's dad was.

[No wonder Adeline likes Superman Daddy. As one of the five founders of League of Legends, he's completely down-to-earth and cares so much about the heroes under his command. Who wouldn't like a guy like that?]

Lilith sighed inwardly, finally understanding why, despite having no connection with Superman's father, he was willing to publicly help her dispel those doubts.

This is why Lilith couldn't help but feel a desire to understand Superman's father, and she asked:

"So, what made you choose to become a hero?"

"To become a hero...?"

Hearing this question, Superman's dad was clearly surprised. He hesitated for a few seconds, then lowered his eyes, a scene from many years ago seemingly flashing in his deep eyes:

"Since you want to know, there's no harm in telling you."

In my autobiography, I mentioned more than once that I am from Virgo, but I never described what kind of planet I came from.

The people there practice extreme survival of the fittest. The weak have no place to survive. From birth, every stage of their lives is predetermined by standards. If they do not meet the standards, they will be forcibly executed as defective products.

Everyone thinks this is justified, but I don't. As the executioner of the weak, I personally kill hundreds of the weak every day. I can see the fear and resentment on their faces, and their cries constantly remind me that this is not civilization.

Extreme survival of the fittest is something only wild beasts do; true civilization should grant the weak the right to survive.

Realizing this, I seized an opportunity to defect from my home planet. Years later, I came to Earth, became a hero, and met my current love...

These candid words left Lilith stunned. When she came to her senses, she noticed a relaxed expression on Daddy's face after he finished speaking.

These words must have been buried deep in his heart for a long time, which is why he chose to say them all at once when Lilith asked him.

Lilith didn't ask any further questions, and Superman's father didn't say anything more. After a few seconds of silence, Superman's father stood up and spoke:

"I've been here long enough, it would be impolite to stay any longer... See you another time."

Upon hearing this, Lilith nodded slightly:

Take care.

And so, Lilith watched Superman leave. Once Superman stepped out of the house and flew further and further away within Lilith's perception range, Lilith returned to her usual lazy demeanor.

After climbing back into bed, Lilith didn't immediately touch her personal terminal. At that moment, the story that Superman's father had told her kept replaying in her mind.

Although she didn't know why, Lilith's intuition kept telling her: there was something wrong with what she said, and the truth was not like that.

But so what? At least Daddy Superman didn't show any malice towards Lilith. Everyone can have their own secrets, and this is understandable.

So Lilith only paid a little attention to it and didn't focus on it too much. She turned over in bed and reached for her personal terminal.

The screen lit up, and Lilith habitually glanced at the message list first. Adeline had sent several unread messages, probably forwarded posts again.

Lilith glanced at them casually; most of them were old-fashioned dirty jokes, which would only be interesting to someone like Adeline, who was full of real life. For Lilith, who spent her days surfing the internet at high intensity, they couldn't even make her smile.

Next, Lilith idly scrolled through the posts on the homepage, her fingertips swiping across the screen absentmindedly, but soon her fingers stopped.

Messages popped up on the screen one after another, quickly reaching 99+.

Lilith was startled, and a possibility quickly surfaced in her mind:

[While Daddy's post briefly silenced the doubts, they've resurfaced, and judging by the momentum, they might be even stronger than before...]

Thinking of this, Lilith felt helpless. If even Superman's intervention couldn't save her, then she would have no choice but to debut under a different identity.

Reluctantly clicking on the message interface, Lilith glanced at it casually and discovered that these messages were not the doubts and questions she had imagined, but rather a uniform collection of praise and compliments.

"What's going on? Shouldn't I be cyberbullied? What's with these comments?"

Lilith was completely baffled by this, and at that moment, Adeline sent her a message:

[Wow! Lilith, your post got retweeted by Daddy Superman! How did you do that?! Teach me!!]

Upon seeing the message, Lilith was taken aback. She then jumped back to the search interface and searched for "Super Daddy". Soon, Super Daddy's account appeared at the top, with an official blue verification icon in the lower right corner.

Upon clicking, the first thing you see is a post that Superman's dad retweeted a few minutes ago. The original post was a self-introduction video that Lilith filmed after killing the first giant beast.

The post was fairly popular, bringing Lilith her initial group of fans. But now, the post has gone viral, simply because Daddy Superman retweeted it.

Not only that, he also wrote in the caption: "Energetic young people, that's great."

Lilith blinked.

Blinked again.

The next second, her personal terminal turned into an alarm clock, ringing incessantly.

Lilith opened her profile and saw that her follower count, which had been stuck at 500,000, was increasing at a visible rate: 510,000, 520,000, 530,000, until it reached 600,000 before it started to slow down...
