Evil God? My servants are players!

Chapter 18 The Team Gets Scattered

The adventure team quickly reached the eighth floor.

After easily defeating a group of goblins, the team set up camp at the entrance to the ninth floor.

"Finally, I can rest a bit. Sister, you're such a devil!"

Sasha stretched while sitting in the chair.

"Stop complaining and get some rest to recover your strength. We need to go downstairs to check on the situation later."

Luna glanced at Sasha and said.

"Captain, everything should be fine, right? Our squad's average level is almost 50."

"Better safe than sorry. You never know what will happen in the future. I don't want our team to suffer any casualties."

Faced with Luna's rebuke, the thief chose to keep quiet.

"Sister, don't be so fierce. This is just to ease the tension," Sasha said, trying to help the thief out of the situation.

"Um."

Luna hummed in response but didn't say anything more. She understood that she might have put a lot of pressure on her teammates.

She also knew that sometimes this pressure could have negative effects.

But she also knew that her sister would help her with the parts she wasn't good at.

Sasha, as the younger sister, has a personality that complements her older sister's.

She pulled out a lute from somewhere and said:

"Don't be so down, let me sing you a song!"

After gently plucking the strings, Sasha began to sing:

"The Black Wings of the World Eater"

It blots out the sky and breathes fire.

Scales like sharp blades…

The team members were immersed in Sasha's melodious music.

Even Luna relaxed slightly.

After a while, the adventure team finished resting and began their ascent to the ninth underground level.

"Be on guard. The Adventurers' Guild's information mentioned that there are difficult-to-defend mental attacks here, and high-level monsters may also appear."

Warriors! Thieves! If anyone becomes disoriented, knock them unconscious immediately!

Luna reminded her.

"Yes, Captain!" *2

Despite the minotaurs blocking their way, the team quickly located the contaminated area.

"Is this the place? It certainly feels very oppressive."

Luna gazed at the area where the anomaly had occurred, muttering to herself.

"Sister, are we really going in?" Sasha asked, swallowing hard.

"Get ready, that's why we're here."

All the other good spots have been taken by other adventure teams; the only way to improve our strength is to gamble on these unknown areas.

After responding to Sasha, Luna touched her forehead and then asked about the other team members.

"How are the others' mental state? Can they hold on? If not, we should retreat first."

"The soldier is alright, just a little nauseous."

"The thief is fine, just a bit disgusting."

"The priest is having some problems. I feel a little dizzy and my legs are a bit weak, but I should be able to fight normally."

"The marksman is fine, I just find this place a bit scary."

Faced with her teammates' optimistic response, Luna was instead in a dilemma.

My head feels like it's being pricked with needles, and blasphemous whispers keep echoing in my ears.

This makes it difficult for Luna to concentrate, a state that is quite fatal for a spellcaster.

Luna struggled against the negative effects. She lowered her hand from her forehead and gave her teammates some instructions:

"I'm not feeling well, I might mess things up later, so please keep an eye on me."

"Are you alright, Captain? Why don't you go and rest for a while? We'll take care of things here!"

Although Luna often puts pressure on her teammates, the teammates understand that it's for the team's benefit, and they still admire their captain quite a bit.

"No need, I just have a bit of a headache, which might lower the success rate of spellcasting. Let's move on."

Luna endured the pain and pretended to be nonchalant.

Her pride led her on this journey from which there was no return.

"These things are really annoying."

The soldier severed the tentacles that were reaching out from the brick wall once again.

"How long have we been wandering around here?" Sasha asked.

"I don't know, it shouldn't be long, I'm not hungry yet," the pastor replied in a soft and cute voice.

The thief suddenly put his hand to his ear, listened carefully, and then asked the crowd:

"Did you hear that? It sounds like music?"

Sasha responded, "Indeed, but what kind of music is this? Why is the rhythm so strange? It sounds a bit creepy."

As the sound grew louder, everyone could hear the strange music clearly; it seemed to be a woman lamenting something.

Just as the adventure team was wondering about the source of the singing, a slight sound of a mechanism being triggered rang out; the singing was meant to mask the sound of the mechanism.

The thief was the first to react; he loudly alerted his teammates:

"There's a trap!"

But he was still a step too slow. As a heavy mechanical door fell, the once intact squad was split in two.

Luna and Sasha were grouped together, while the other three were grouped on the other side.

"team leader!"

The other three called out to their captain through the wall, while the soldiers tried to lift the mechanism door.

Despite her increasingly severe headache, Luna responded to the calls of others:

"Don't waste your energy, the mechanism door is already locked. You should go back the way you came. Let's go back to the camp and rest before coming back."

Also, if things get complicated, use the teleportation crystal immediately, don't hesitate.

Upon hearing this, the three people opposite shouted towards Luna.

"Captain, be careful too. We're leaving."

After confirming that the three had left, Luna finally couldn't hold on any longer. She weakly leaned against the wall, enduring the dizziness and discomfort caused by her headache.

"Sis! What's wrong?"

Sasha quickly helped Luna up when she saw this.

"I'm fine, just a little dizzy. Let's leave here first."

After Luna finished speaking, she reminded Sasha, "Take out the teleportation crystal first, and use it immediately if anything happens."

Seeing Luna's discomfort, Sasha suggested, "Sis, why don't we just use it now?"

"It's not time yet. You know how expensive this crystal is. It's something that's been bought with one's life. It's not too late to use it when we really discover the danger."

"Okay, come on, let me help you walk." After Sasha helped Luna up, she quietly added, "Always trying to be strong."

Luna didn't hear Sasha's mutterings because the whispers in her ear grew louder.

Then, the two sisters began to search for a way out, swaying unsteadily.

To distract herself, Luna tried to chat with Sasha.

"Judging from the environment here, it must be the influence of a treasure that emphasizes the spirit and life."

Although she didn't know why her sister was suddenly talking about these things, Sasha still took over the conversation.

"Hmm, it seems the treasure is of a high level. I wonder if it can be considered a divine artifact."

"A divine artifact? You really dare to dream. How could a divine artifact possibly be ours? At most, it's a legend."

"Something's happening!" Sasha suddenly became alert.

"Is it an enemy?" Luna asked in a low voice.

"It shouldn't be."

Then, a mouse swaggered past the two of them.

It first stood still and sniffed around, then continued forward.

Suddenly, with a whoosh, a guillotine fell, cleaving the rat in two.

While the sisters were still looking at each other in bewilderment.

The rat, which had been cut in two, stood up unsteadily, and a large number of tentacles gushed out from the cut.
