Evil God? My servants are players!
Chapter 126 Pre-Battle Preparations
After stepping out of the underground city entrance.
Instead of the legendary azure sky, what came into view was a pitch-black curtain, which made Kuku Kaka feel extremely disappointed.
"So there are ceilings on the ground too?"
"No, I asked the Goblin God, and it seems something happened here, so everything is abnormal."
"We need to resolve this matter, and then we'll be able to see the sky again."
Seeing Kukuka's disappointed look, Jiligulu comforted her, saying that she would need Kukuka to protect her later.
Although the goblin army was large, the Chaos Eggs near the dungeon entrance had already been cleared out.
Therefore, the large group was not hindered and, guided by the hyacinth, quickly arrived at their destination.
The players had been waiting there for a long time.
"When did it become our turn to wait for the NPCs? Can't we even have a proper game anymore?" Players are still complaining as usual.
"But I can't help but laugh every time I see this goblin army."
"Here's a joke, Boy Scouts."
"Ouch, it's so cold."
"Isn't this hilarious? A huge-breasted loli army, pfft~"
"Shock him!"
"Ohhhhhhh! Stop shocking me! I'm not a lolicon!"
No one paid any attention to these quirky players; it was as if they didn't exist.
Even goblins are the same; although these players have extraordinary status, they are just as annoying.
Upon reaching its destination, the traveling frog directed its strategist guards to scatter and set up a defensive line.
"Luckily, the traveling frog is a girl, otherwise she would have gotten electrocuted too!"
"What's wrong with women? Women need electricity too!!!"
The traveling frog glanced back at the two chattering players and said, "Are you never going to stop?!"
The two players, seeing that the traveling frog didn't get the joke, could only leave disappointed.
Guided by Shen Yuan, Hyacinth arrived at the correct location, the intersection of the six stone slabs.
Then Hyacinth gave a command to the crowd:
"I'm about to hold a ceremony, so you must protect me."
"Don't worry, although I may not be able to defeat that monster, I can at least hold it off," Veronica replied.
"God of Goblins, come forth again! We will surely protect you!"
"I swear on the reputation of the Frost Adventurers, I will protect you."
The players haven't said anything yet; they're still talking about the new main quest.
"The new main storyline rewards are really generous, but I guess it will be very difficult."
"Not necessarily. The rewards in this game don't seem to be related to its difficulty."
"It feels like the rewards are added arbitrarily, with more rewards for urgent tasks and less for long-term tasks."
"Indeed, the current rewards are better than the previous ones!"
"Hey! The plot is starting!" the muscular man said, pointing at the hyacinth.
At this moment, the hyacinth is walking with devout steps onto the newly erected altar.
As the hyacinth took its place at the ceremony site, the surrounding revitalized houses seemed to receive a command.
They began to move in an orderly fashion, forming layer upon layer of "walls" around the goblin defense perimeter, attempting to use their own bodies to block all invading enemies.
Then, Hyacinth took out the book, "Our Principles".
The pages moved automatically without any wind, and the hyacinths floated up with the book, spreading out an invisible wave.
Everyone present felt a jolt of fear, their blood running cold, as if the end of the world was about to come.
This feeling was extremely intense, even more so than when Count Hamlet activated the Eclipse.
But this feeling came and went quickly; in the next second, no one felt anything anymore.
"What was that just now?" Sasha asked her companions, still shaken.
"Huh? So the feeling I just had wasn't an illusion?" the soldier said, scratching his head.
"Heh, this is even more frightening than the shockwaves generated by that nobleman's ceremony. I hope we haven't chosen the wrong ally," the thief commented, shaking his head.
"Now that things have come to this, we have no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it. I don't think they're bad people," Sasha reassured herself.
"Yeah, but who says good people don't do bad things? Sigh~ Oh well, like you said, things have come to this." The thief sighed and ended the conversation.
Veronica, on the other side, was in an even worse state. She seemed to see phantoms of her family, and memories of the past began to surface before her eyes.
Even though she tried to wave her hand forcefully to erase the illusion in front of her, it was to no avail.
Even the enormous monster in the distance appeared as Count Hamlet in Veronica's eyes.
"Veronica! You just killed me?! Killed your father?!"
"But you didn't expect this, did you! I'm still alive! I'm still alive! And I'm going to destroy everything you have!"
"Start with a castle filled with precious memories! Then head to your favorite town!"
"This is the retribution you deserve for your patricide!"
"Shut up! You're not him at all! He wouldn't do such a thing! Like the butler said! He's long dead!"
In response to the verbal attack from "The Earl of Hamlet", Veronica retorted directly.
"Hahaha! I'm not him? Then who am I?! I'm your father! Stop fooling yourself!"
"Veronica! Veronica! What's wrong?!"
Sasha grabbed Veronica's shoulders and shook her, her movement waking Veronica from her hallucination.
Like a drowning person rising to the surface, Veronica gasped for fresh air.
"Veronica, what happened to you just now? Why did you suddenly scream?"
"It's nothing, I think I was just under an illusion." Veronica took a deep breath and calmed herself down.
"Illusion? What illusion? Did someone just cast an illusion?" Sasha was completely baffled by Veronica's response.
Upon hearing Sasha's question, Veronica realized that she had just made the same mistake again, so she quickly added:
"It's nothing, it must be my imagination."
"Are you really okay? We're about to have a tough battle!" Sasha asked worriedly.
"No problem, it was just a momentary lapse in concentration," Veronica replied, shaking her head.
Seeing Veronica's response, Sasha, though still full of worry, could only return to his position and remain on guard.
The eerie fluctuations spread further and further, soon reaching the monster's vicinity.
The monster that was destroying the house suddenly stopped what it was doing, seemingly puzzled by what it had just sensed.
Then the monster suddenly began to twist its huge body, turning its "front" towards the hyacinth that was performing the ceremony.
"Buzz~" The mouthless monster let out another cry.
Then an energy began to gather in front of the monster.
"Damn it! That trick again!" Having already learned her lesson, Veronica instantly realized what the monster was up to.
