Shulong Daojun

Chapter 7 Establishing the Way

The valley is home to many monkeys, who are adept at gathering miscellaneous flowers and fruits in rocky hollows and brewing them into wine.

Its color is clear, its aroma is elegant, its taste is mellow, and it has a hint of sweetness, making it a truly rare find.

Originating from apes, it is called ape wine.

Among them, the wine brewed by the white ape in front of us is the best.

Not long after Lin Shu gave his instructions, the white ape returned, carrying a rough, black pottery jar in its long arms.

Then one could see a layer of dark green moss growing at the bottom of the jar, extending five or six inches upwards to the mouth of the jar, which was not sealed and slowly emitted a damp aroma of wine.

The white ape let out a soft whistle, then carefully held the wine jar with its two paws and handed it to Lin Shu.

"Thank you for the wine, Brother Ape," Lin Shu said politely, then accepted it with both hands.

Immediately, he used his magic to casually pick up a bamboo leaf from the ground, and with a slight thought, he obtained a wad of red cloth, which he then used to plug the mouth of the jar.

The wine brewed by the white ape is made from aged spiritual fruits, which are more abundant in wood energy than ordinary ape wine. It is naturally suitable for feeding Qingmin.

Since he's here, he should take some back to nourish Qingmin.

With everything done, Lin Shu did not linger any longer. He bid farewell to the white ape and turned to walk into the temple.

At that moment, the cries of monkeys echoed, and the figure of the young Taoist priest floated by.

At that time, the Taoist priest had returned home after three or four days, having exhausted his enjoyment.

He sat upright on a futon in the main hall, picking up a green spiritual fruit and placing it in front of him, nodding and smiling, while Qingmin, who had already raised his head, stood beside him.

Looking out into the distance, the junior brother was diligently performing the five rituals to dispel turbidity, while Xiao Dou'er would take a step, glance around, her mind divided, moving slowly and leisurely.

Suddenly, she felt a heavy blow to her head. She instinctively clutched her head and sobbed, when she heard a sound:

"Little Bean, when you practice fasting and seek the Way, you should be of one mind."

If you don't complete your morning lessons properly, your senior brother won't let Qingmin go fishing with you.

But Lin Shu had already returned, and seeing that Xiao Dou'er was distracted, he took the initiative to persuade her.

As soon as she finished speaking, Xiaodou responded and immediately perked up, moving nimbly.

Just then, Qingmin dropped the spirit fruit, swam to Linshu's feet, and with a nimble leap, perched on his shoulder.

There are many inconveniences in comprehending profound skills.

Therefore, just as Lin Shu was about to become engrossed in his studies, he instructed Qing Min to find Xiao Dou'er and his junior brother to take care of him.

In retrospect, the result was quite good.

Holding a Taoist priest in front, Lin Shu nodded slightly to his junior brother and stepped into the main hall.

As the main hall shone brightly, before he could even bow, the Taoist priest clapped his hands and laughed heartily, praising:

"His breathing was faint, like that of a tortoise, and a millet-sized pearl had appeared in his navel, which was a sign that the mysterious gate had been opened and he had entered the innate realm."

"Good, my good disciple. You have mastered the basics of your profound skills and have a way to protect yourself. Your master has nothing to worry about now."

Lin Shu bowed and smiled slightly, saying, "It is all thanks to Master's excellent teaching. I have merely followed your instructions diligently."

The Taoist priest listened with great pleasure, and with a gentle flick of his whisk, seemingly unintentionally offered a suggestion:

"Good disciple, your master will take you to the Kunyuan Dharma Assembly tomorrow."

If any senior disciples or elders from the same lineage ask about it at that time, simply tell them what I said today.

Upon hearing this, Lin Shu nodded in response, "Yes, Master."

He was naturally familiar with the Kunyuan Dharma Assembly.

As the saying goes, the universe takes a single breath, and sixty years pass in a cycle.

The Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches complete a full cycle, representing the flow of the earth's energy and the changing fortunes of mountains and rivers.

It is also the time when evil spirits breed and the earth's veins undergo the most significant changes.

The orthodox lineage of Taoism has always had the responsibility to act on behalf of Heaven and maintain the order of Heaven and Earth. Therefore, the Kunyuan Dharma Assembly is established in accordance with this responsibility.

The date was set for the Beginning of Autumn, in anticipation of the Winter Solstice, hoping for the moment when Yin reaches its extreme and Yang begins to rise. Lin Shu had already accompanied the monk several times.

He thought to himself that, relying on the Xuanpin Divine Light Daoist Technique, he was quite composed, like a dragon and tiger subdued by a high-ranking Daoist. However, he did not expect that the Daoist's tone would suddenly change.

"Good disciple, this Kunyuan Dharma Assembly is different from the past. It is held in accordance with the Jiazi year and involves the change of the divine positions in the earth veins and mountains."

Since you have the karmic connection to have the Azure Dragon accompany you as a Dharma companion, you should establish a path for him.

If one aspires to guide it towards orthodox Shintoism, this is indeed a golden opportunity.

After saying this, the Taoist priest seemed to remember something, pondered for a moment, then frowned and said earnestly:

"Good disciple, you and this dragon are now connected by energy; you share both glory and ruin. You must be diligent and cautious."

Lin Shu nodded, bowed again, and replied, "Thank you for your teachings, Master."

For him, as a disciple of the Daoist sect, Qingmin's path of transforming into a dragon, seeking imperial decree, and aiming for the position of a righteous god would undoubtedly be of the greatest help.

Furthermore, it is the most effortless method.

The "Dragon Book" states in its introductory chapter: "A jiao (蛟) transforms into a dragon after a thousand years; a dragon becomes a horned dragon after five hundred years; and a dragon becomes an yinglong (应龙) after a thousand years."

If you nurture it using ordinary methods, it will take too long and become too resistant, which is not advisable.

They simply entered the path of the gods, replacing their own arduous cultivation with the power of incense offerings, vows, and the merits of fulfilling their duties.

Simply by protecting a region's land and water, ensuring the smooth flow of its energy and the well-being of its people, one can achieve great prosperity and accumulate merit rapidly, equivalent to the efforts of hundreds of years.

Moreover, Qingmin is naturally suited to the path of becoming a divine dragon king.

On the day the dragon emerged from the stone egg, the remaining four chapters of the Dragon Book were already opened. However, because the Dao Embryo was about to be formed, the Scale Book had not yet been read through.

At this moment, with a single thought, observing and contemplating, one already has a clear understanding in one's heart.

He composed himself, then asked softly, "Does Master know where to find Xuanjin?"

After a moment's thought, the Taoist priest understood the meaning of the letter. He lowered his gaze, focusing on the green jade resting on his shoulder, and after a short while, he slowly spoke:

"Regarding the matter of Xuanjin, I will agree on your behalf."

My Dao Yi Tai Miao Zhen Men originates from the Tai Yi lineage and is one of the five innate lineages of Daoism, so it still has some prestige.

This can be considered a congratulatory gift for your attainment of the rank of Human Immortal.

Upon hearing this, Lin Shu felt a warmth in his heart and hurriedly tried to express his gratitude, but he saw that the Taoist priest had already raised his hand, stroked his beard, and smiled, saying:

"Good disciple, between master and disciple, one thanks is a courtesy, but two thanks would be considered estrangement, so there's no need for that."

Xuanjin is the metal of the water element. Although feeding the Azure Dragon with it follows the principle of the five elements generating water and wood, it is itself metal. Too much of it will counteract the wood element and hinder the Azure Dragon's growth.

Therefore, if one wants to achieve a harmonious relationship between metal and water, nourishing the wood element and strengthening its foundation, it is still necessary to supplement it with water-related elements to provide additional moisture for a more stable outcome.

Lin Shu certainly understood the principles of the Five Elements, and his actions were indeed in accordance with them. However, he was slightly lacking in the details. But after the explanation from the Taoist priest, he understood immediately.

Coincidentally, he did indeed possess these aquatic creatures, and quite a few of them.

Then Lin Shu had a thought, reached into his storage bag at his waist, and a piece of white, smooth fish meat suddenly appeared, instantly attracting the attention of everyone around.

Before the Taoist priest and his junior brother could take a second look, Xiaodou'er had already summoned the little white crane, which carried her to Linshu.

"Senior brother, what are you holding in your hand?"

Little Bean sniffed gently, her round eyes full of curiosity, "It smells a little sweet."

Lin Shu held the fish meat in his hand to his shoulder and handed it to Qing Min, then smiled faintly: "Senior brother caught a very big carp a few days ago, so he took a lot of fish meat."

I was planning to make a pot of milky fish soup for Xiaodou to try, but I got sidetracked by various things. Sigh.

After saying that, he showed a regretful expression.

Hearing this, Xiaodou pursed her lips unconsciously, clearly eager for more. She gently tugged at Linshu's sleeve and said in a coquettish tone:

"Senior brother, senior brother, Little Bean wants to eat! Little Bean wants to eat!"

Seeing this, Lin Shu patted Xiao Dou'er's head and said with a hint of doting, "Alright, alright! Today, let's all eat carp in the temple."
