Chapter 42 Nourishing the Turbid

"Dragons rise from the earth, bringing both good and bad fortune; water comes from the sky, sometimes clear, sometimes turbid."

The pure and impure energies of heaven and earth, following the bellows, transform into all things.

Lin Shu's gaze fell on the remnant vein filled with turbid energy, and the words recorded in the "Dragon Book" came to mind, causing him to hesitate for a moment.

The first sentence says that dragons can be pure or impure, while the second sentence says that both purity and impurity are born from the Dao.

This statement clarifies that dragons are like the clear and turbid elements in the universe; where there are clear dragons, there must also be turbid dragons.

Both are manifestations of the Dao, and in their essence, they are neither superior nor inferior. It is just that people tend to value purity and nobility while despising vulgarity and filth.

Therefore, it is only natural that the pure are noble and the impure are lowly.

Qingmin was born from the metal and wood elements of heaven and earth, and is naturally a Qinglong. Its destiny is noble and pure, and it is suitable for the path of a divine dragon king, which is also in line with its identity as a Taoist disciple.

The turbid dragon is different.

Its destiny is lowly, it is a naturally ominous creature, it is inferior and fond of evil, and it represents disaster itself. If left to grow unchecked, it will surely become a fierce god.

But the flow of turbid air is both a crisis and an opportunity.

Even a turbid dragon can transform from extreme turbidity to clarity, and from the extreme of yin to the birth of yang. Given time, it may very well transform into a clear dragon like a piece of green jade.

Or perhaps one can walk the path of the end, the path of destruction, and cultivate to become another incarnation of the Tao.

Either way, they are invaluable resources.

The Way has no inherent good or evil, nor are the tools inherently right or wrong; they are governed by human beings and driven by their own thoughts.

The future of the turbid dragon depends not only on its own actions, but even more so on the guidance of its tamer.

Moreover, both purity and impurity arise from the Mysterious Female. Nurturing two dragons, one pure and one impure, is of great benefit to one's own cultivation of the Mysterious Female Dharma.

Not to mention the sublime path of unifying purity and impurity.

If the sky is not taken, the blame is on the contrary.

Lin Shu's eyes flickered slightly, and he had already made up his mind. He then used this remnant of the dragon vein to nurture a turbid dragon.

Once he had made up his mind, he immediately stopped hesitating and looked at the six remaining veins on the gong table, trying to identify the one with the most active source of turbid qi.

Although they all possess the spiritual essence of the earthly evil veins, they are also divided into living veins, dead veins, and declining veins.

To nurture a turbid dragon, not just any remnant bloodline will suffice; choosing the wrong one will only waste your efforts.

The "literary talent" of the Qinglong corresponds to the texture, while the Zhuolong corresponds to the turbid appearance—different color, cold nature, and evil influence.

Lin Shu sensed it briefly, discerning it based on the turbid appearance, and immediately removed four out of six, leaving two remnants on the case.

One was entirely black, but its veins were mostly blood-red, giving it a fierce and menacing appearance, with the remaining seven parts exuding malice.

It is about the size of a palm and has an abnormal pulsation.

The other one has a line of blue color, nine parts fierce and one part tragic, about the thickness of a finger, with a steady pulsation.

Both conform to the description of the turbid phase and are excellent choices for breeding dragon offspring.

Which one should be chosen?

Lin Shu gazed at the two remaining veins, pondered for a moment, then raised his hand and pointed, causing the divine light to split into two strands, each falling towards the two remaining veins.

The next instant, two plumes of green smoke rose up simultaneously, making a hissing sound.

The dark blue veins instantly emitted a low hum, and a wisp of dark blue energy emerged, swirling around the body, seemingly slowly eroding the divine light.

The black and red remnant vein suddenly sprang up, its killing intent chilling. Then, it suddenly emitted a beam of red light, swallowed the divine light whole, and landed back on the desk, motionless.

All that could be seen was the dark red color wriggling on the surface of its pulse, and after a moment, it even swallowed up the rising blue smoke.

"It has quite a strong ferocity," Lin Shu said in a low voice, raising an eyebrow.

Compared to the soft and enduring nature of the dark blue veins, these dark red veins clearly exude a sense of domineering, greedy, and unruly behavior.

Indeed, it is a good embryo for nurturing a turbid dragon.

To embark on the path of annihilation and destruction, one needs such an extremely fierce and malevolent foundation in order to have any hope or expectation.

The method to transform this black and red remnant vein into the embryo of a turbid dragon is not difficult, but it is somewhat too cruel.

"A turbid vein that resembles a coiled snake gathers in an inauspicious place. When the evil energy is sufficient, it will move, and when it moves, a fetus will be formed."

Find an inauspicious place and nurture it with malevolent energy. Over the years, it will naturally give birth to a turbid embryo. This is one of the creations of heaven and earth.

Speaking of ominous places, Lin Shu naturally thought of the turbid spring in Xuan Yin Mountain.

That place was originally intended to nurture the essence of the turbid veins of the earth, and was naturally suitable as a dragon's lair for cultivating turbid dragons.

However, Xuan Yin Mountain has collapsed, and the turbid spring is now hard to find.

Even if they could get in through that secret passage, Chang Geng and others would keep a close watch on them at all times.

After all, such a major change has occurred, so it cannot be said that it is not taken seriously.

The approach of hiding the truth from the light is clearly not going to work.

After much deliberation, Lin Shu decided to follow the method recorded in the "Dragon Book" to artificially create an ominous place as a dragon's lair using the five turbidities of killing, blood, resentment, fire, and death.

Then, the incense offerings from the people's prayers and vows are used as nourishment to continuously nurture the dragon embryo.

Even if it can't compare to the turbid spring of Xuan Yin Mountain, it's probably not much inferior.

Thinking of this, Lin Shu began to formulate some plans for the future.

Qingmin walks the path of the gods, and his incense can be divided into two paths: the pure incense is refined and absorbed by himself, while the incense karma contained therein is given to the turbid dragon.

The clear and the turbid complement each other somewhat.

From now on, there will be two dragons, one in the light and the other in the dark.

It's just a bit tough on this unborn little one.

Siding, Lin Shu unleashed his divine light, landing it on the black and blue remnant vein and the remaining four remnant veins. With a tremor, the remnant veins shattered.

He then took out the gray-black crystal he had obtained from the spring wall, shattered it, and then casually built a small nest from it.

He immediately rolled up his sleeves and, using his divine sense, arrived at the place where the turbid energy of the Qingwu City's earth veins converged. He then carried the black and red remnants of the earth veins and the "Dragon's Nest" to the depths of the earth.

Lin Shu, relying on his divine position, commanded the surrounding soil to expand into an open space, placed the "Dragon Nest" within it, and then carefully placed the black and red remnants of the vein on top of the "Dragon Nest," guiding the turbid energy of the earth veins to slowly gather there.

Once everything was settled, the black and red remnant vein quietly exhaled and exhaled the surrounding turbid air. With his mind at ease, he used the power of his divine position to conceal the place.

The matter of raising a turbid dragon can only be done privately, and must never be discovered by other righteous gods or Taoist disciples.

Otherwise, even if he were the first disciple of the special lineage and had the protection of the Taoist priest, he would still inevitably suffer a major demerit and be severely punished.

Therefore, even if this turbid dragon hatches, it cannot stay by one's side for as long as Qingmin did.

"Your path is destined to be difficult."

Neither a divine dragon, nor a dragon immortal, nor a demonic dragon, yet upholding the ultimate Dao of Heaven and Earth, it is bound to be coveted by the demonic sects and rejected by the Daoist sects.

Lin Shu gazed at the black and red remnants of the vein, reached out and stroked them, then sighed.

"Just like my own path."

After saying that, he stood still for a moment, then turned and left.

The future path of the turbid dragon is bound to be perilous. All he can do is help it replenish its essence as much as possible so that it can be extraordinary from the moment of its birth.

It was born from a remnant vein, not from the essence of a turbid earthly vein, so it was inherently deficient and its appearance was inevitably slightly flawed.

Fortunately, the five turbidities acquired later in life can be replenished.

These are all ordinary things, not too hard to find, but they must conform to the Five Elements.
