LOL: The strongest all-Chinese team? My G2 top laner
Chapter 25 EU Rockets, the lovable and charming villains
Everyone says Italy has bad public security, but I'm in Germany!
Jiang Ling's mind was a little foggy.
Family members, does anyone understand?
I was in Berlin, just got off the plane, and a group of guys wearing FNC jerseys tried to kidnap me!
FNC fans are too arrogant!
FNC, as a club from Great Britain, how dare you kidnap me in Europe?
Nobody told me that playing in Europe would be life-threatening!
Even the most fanatical fans in China, like the royal fans, only open boxes online.
But FNC fans are all showing up offline!
Don't the airport staff care about the hats?
Jiang Ling's mind was racing, but she could hear rustling sounds mixed with suppressed laughter.
What the hell?
This art style is a bit off!
Just as Jiang Ling was frantically trying to figure out why he had been kidnapped by FNC fans at the airport with a hood over his head, the sack was removed from his head.
A flash of light appeared before my eyes.
I subconsciously rubbed my eyes, and when I opened them again, I found a familiar face in front of me.
Ocelote, owner of G2.
But the question is, why is he wearing an FNC team uniform?
Jiang Ling blinked, then blinked again.
Make sure you are not hallucinating.
The next second, he saw even more people emerge from behind Ocelote.
Perkz, Jankos, Wadid, Hjarnan…
Although he had never met them in real life, Jiang Ling recognized his teammates immediately.
After all, I had watched G2's match videos repeatedly before coming to Europe.
These teammates were all wearing FNC team uniforms at the moment.
Jiang Ling's mind works very quickly.
Almost the instant he saw Ocelote's extremely irritatingly smirking face, he understood.
This was a "surprise" from his G2 colleagues when they met him.
That makes sense. How could anyone kidnap someone at the airport?
After figuring it out, Jiang Ling finally felt relieved.
On his face, a look of amusement and exasperation appeared.
"Surprise!"
Ocelote opened his arms wide, his smile as bright as the sunshine outside the airport.
"Demon, welcome to Berlin!"
Perkz, Jankos, and the others behind him couldn't help but laugh, bending over with laughter.
Jankos's unrestrained, infectious laughter echoed through the airport arrival hall, drawing the attention of many travelers.
Seeing Jiang Ling's expression quickly return to calm after being frightened, and even the corner of her mouth twitch slightly, Ocelote raised an eyebrow in surprise.
He had expected that this young man from the LPL would be somewhat panicked, or at least show some confusion.
The results of it?
They didn't seem to feel much.
This prank was a bit of a failure!
"Welcome Demon to FNC, oh no, I mean G2!"
Ocelote announced loudly in his heavily accented Spanish English.
Jiang Ling knew that Ocelote had always been a highly controversial, arrogant, and performative professional player.
From the very beginning of the team's formation, he clearly defined G2's brand strategy: not to be good boys, but to be the "villains" of the esports world.
Back in 2016, G2 parodied the official promotional video of the European leagues.
In the video, they used various brutal methods, such as urinating, stomping, and spraying paint, to destroy the logos of all other teams, openly portraying themselves as the "number one enemy" of the region.
What others might see as a "bad reputation" tactic, Ocelote sees as the best form of marketing.
In his view, in an era where traffic is king, being disliked is better than being ignored.
Because I had known about it beforehand.
Therefore, Jiang Ling quickly accepted what she had just experienced.
He is not the kind of person who is easily offended or cannot accept jokes or pranks.
To be honest, he even kind of likes this style.
Compared to those who speak in formulaic ways during interviews and are overly concerned about the camera when facing a video, this is a stark contrast.
Jiang Ling prefers the former.
The latter always made him feel uncomfortable.
It's a bit hypocritical, pretentious, and utterly boring.
In contrast, G2's "I'm here to cause trouble, what can you do about it?" attitude made him feel more at ease.
At least, they're letting their true nature shine through, instead of suppressing themselves and pretending.
"Demon, were you startled by our surprise?"
Ocelote walked over, patted Jiang Ling on the shoulder, his eyes full of curiosity.
"Is this a surprise?"
Jiang Ling rolled her eyes. "Aren't you just being alarmed? I almost thought I was going to be the headline of tomorrow's Berlin Morning Post: 'Chinese e-sports player kidnapped by unidentified people at airport; police have launched an investigation.'"
"Ha ha ha ha!"
Ocelote burst out laughing, "That's a good headline too! At least a million times better than 'G2's new signing arrives in Berlin, but nobody's interested'!"
"By the way, Demon."
Ocelote suddenly stopped laughing, looked Jiang Ling up and down, and said with a hint of disbelief, "It's only been two months, how come your English is so fluent?"
He remembered clearly that two months ago, when they were negotiating in Paris, Jiang Ling's English was at a level of six, but his spoken English was far from as fluent as it is now.
Nowadays, not only has the Chinglish flavor completely disappeared, but it has been replaced by a pure London accent!
"Shouldn't you learn English well if you want to compete in the European region?"
Jiang Ling shrugged, giving a nonchalant reply.
"Yes, yes!"
Ocelote gave a thumbs-up, his approval undisguised. "I really admire your professionalism! Come, let me introduce you..."
He turned around and pointed to his teammates behind him.
"Perkz, our mid laner and also the team's shot-caller, you should have seen his games."
Perkz stepped forward and extended his hand.
He was taller than Jiang Ling had imagined, with ordinary short hair and a sharp look in his eyes that was unique to Croatians.
"This is Jankos, our jungler, a Polish player, the best Lee Sin player in the EU region," Ocelote continued.
"Not the blindest person in Europe."
Jankos corrected, "He's the world's blindest man."
"This is Wadid, a support player, Korean."
Ocelote pointed to the bespectacled, seemingly refined young man beside him.
"?????."
Jiang Ling greeted Wadid in Korean, her pronunciation so perfect it surprised him.
"Oh? You speak Korean very well!"
Wadid exclaimed with delight, his face showing the expression of meeting an old friend in a foreign land.
"Finally, it's Hjarnan, our ADC."
Ocelote pointed to the Swede standing at the very edge.
Hjarnan was a somewhat shy-looking young man with blond hair and blue eyes, a typical Scandinavian appearance.
He nodded to Jiang Ling.
Jiang Ling noticed that there was a hint of bitterness in his smile and his eyes were somewhat evasive.
Clearly, the recent online comments that "G2's bot lane is a weak point" and "Hjarnan is dragging down the whole team" have had a significant impact on him.
Jiang Ling hugged and chatted with the G2 players one by one.
He noticed that although this group of people were known online for their "antics," "flirting," and "unseriousness," they were surprisingly comfortable to be around in private.
He is approachable, straightforward, and speaks his mind directly.
They can take a joke and catch the punchline.
"So," Jiang Ling smiled and looked around, "in the European region, is G2 considered the Rockets?"
"The Rockets?"
Upon hearing this, Perkz immediately perked up and asked, "Team Rocket from Pokémon?"
"Is that Team Rocket, the team that says, 'Since you've asked so sincerely, we'll mercifully tell you'?"
"Yes, that's the one."
Jiang Ling nodded, "He's always arrogant when he appears, always gets knocked away, but always manages to come back stronger."
"No, no, no!"
Perkz shook his head repeatedly, "We, G2, are not the Rockets."
"The Rockets are the villains, but they're the kind of villains who are destined to fail."
"We're Deadpool or Iron Man from Marvel!"
The author, "You're Invincible," personally recommends: I hope you enjoy the story of "LOL: The Strongest All-Chinese Team? I'm G2's Top Laner."
